Richard Jones
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Richard Bruce Jones died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 84.
He was formerly employed as an architectural draftsman at Selmon T. Franklin & Associates in Chattanooga.
He was a member of Holy Child Episcopal Church in Ormond Beach, Fla., and was affiliated with St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland.
As a former member of the Barnard Astronomical Society, Mr. Jones was instrumental in the creation and building of the Clarence T. Jones observatory in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca L. Jones; two daughters, Jaren Snider, Charleston, Tenn., and Suzanne Arthur, Ormond Beach.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mavji K. Solanki
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Mavji K. Solanki died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, in a Rhea County nursing home in Dayton, Tenn.

Ruby Warner
SEWANEE, Tenn. - Ruby K. Warner died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at the Haven of Rest in Tracy City. She was 86.
Arrangements will be announced by Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, Tenn., where the family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m.
Ernest Bailey
Ernest Bailey died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 80.
Arrangements will be announced by Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
Harry Bedwell
Harry Charles Bedwell died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999. He was 52.
He was an electrician and a member of Delray Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late William A. and Dorothy Burkhart Bedwell.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Taylor, East Ridge; one son, Phillip A. Bedwell, Chattanooga; five brothers, Ralph Bedwell, East Ridge, Freddy Bedwell and Eddie Bedwell, both of Chattanooga, William Bedwell, Fort Oglethorpe, and Frank Bedwell, Sand Mountain; three sisters, Dottie Alexander, Red Bank, Catherine Carroll, Chattanooga, and Shirley Tallent, Nashville; and two granddaughters.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ronnie Childress officiating.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Robert Brock
Robert L. Brock Jr. died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 73.
He was a native of Englewood, Tenn., and a longtime resident of Chattanooga.
He established Brock Printing in 1969. He retired from Interestate Life and also worked for Dixie Yarns as a printer.
He was a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church, Chattanooga Masonic Lodge 199 F&AM;, Scottish Rite, Alhambra Shrine Temple and American Legion Blair Post 95.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Brock; one son, Bobby Brock, Chattanooga; one daughter, Babs Ragsdale, Chattanooga; two sisters, Mary Owen, Chattanooga and Rachel Whitacre, Braddock, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. David Harr officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John Cooper
The Rev. John Cooper died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Oakland, Calif.
He was the former minister of New Monumental Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Cooper.
Services will be held Friday at Paradise Baptist Church in California.

Juanita Cooper
Juanita Ernestine Cooper of Flintstone, Ga., died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at her home.
A native and longtime resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia areas, she was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ and had been employed with Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park for the past 12 years.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Cooper; one daughter, Debbie McCarty; one son, Duane Cooper, both of Flintstone; her mother, Beulah Townson, Tiftonia; one sister, Clara Shourd, Wildwood, Ga.; two brothers, Deloy and Troy Duncan, both of Huntsvllle, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with minister Bill Dedmon and minister Phillip Medlin officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alma Crane
Alma P. Crane of Springfield, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in a hospital there.
She was the widow of Leonard Hall.
Survivors include one daughter, Juanita H. Stallings, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Lora Crane, Rome, Ga., and Inex Tatum, Henagar, Ala.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills cemetery.

William Crockett
William Joseph 'Joe' Crockett died Jan. 23, 1999, at his home. He was 44.

Loretta Drumgool
Loretta Drumgool of Chattanooga and a native of Scranton, Pa., died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in a local hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Owen Drumgool, and a daughter, Dana Danielle Drumgool, both of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Durham
Charles Frank Durham died recently at his home. He was 83.
The longtime Chattanooga resident was retired from Combustion Engineering after 36 years. He was a member of Boilermakers Union 656, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and member of Tremont Baptist Church.
He was the husband of the late Evelyn Durham and the father of the late Faye Roberts.
Survivors include four daughters, Jan Hutton, Norcross, Ga., Jeanne Hackworth, Hixson, Ruth Elliott, Soddy, and Sue Durham, Red Bank; one brother, Buddy Durham, California; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Highlander and the Rev. Charles Kerin officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Claudia Edmonds
Claudia B. Edmonds of Sale Creek, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at a local health care facility. She was 89.
Survivors include four daughters, Patsy McEwen, Sale Creek, Wanda Poole, Soddy, Jeanie Johnson, Fredrick, Md., and Ruby McDonald, Dayton, Tenn.; one sister, Georgia Hughes, Chattanooga; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Reed Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Gray cemetery in Bakewell, Tenn.
