She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Daniel Lawrence
Daniel S. Lawrence died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 79.
Mr. Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lawrence.
Survivors include two stepsons, Terry Clowdus, East Ridge, and Steve Clowdus, Chattanooga; a stepdaughter, Debbie Magin, Chattanooga; a sister, Vera Croft, East Ridge; five grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Herring officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mary Ann Liebe
Mary Ann Liebe of Red Bank died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 90.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with Dr. Paul Frick officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Tom Miller
Hugh Thomas 'Tom' Miller of Calhoun, Ky., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at hospital there. He was 73.
Mr. Miller was a farmer and had retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member and trustee of the Beech Grove Chapel United Methodist Church, Army veteran of World War II, and the widower of Jenevia Luck Miller.
Survivors include three sons, Hugh Allen Miller, Bowling Green, Ky., Eddie Miller, Bremen, Ky., and Richard Miller, Owensboro, Ky.; three daughters, Carolyn Wills, Metropolis, Ill., Barbara Cooper, Chattanooga, and Teri Fleischmann, Madisonville; two brothers, Ray Miller, St. Joseph and Bill Miller, Louisiana; two sisters, Maxine Ralston, Cottonwood, Ariz., and Helen Murch, Central City; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be Saturday in Calhoun, Ky.

Howard Morgan
Howard Roy Morgan of Hixson died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 78.
Mr. Morgan was an army veteran of World War II, a member of Falling Water Church of God and a retired home builder.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Harvey Morgan, Hixson; two daughters, Joyce Blackmon, LaFayette, Ga., and Vivian Morgan, Hixson; a son, Howard Morgan, Hixson; three sisters, Charlotte Green, Georgia, Betty Lou Cranmore, Sale Creek, and Treva Hayes, Soddy-Daisy; a brother, Alfred Brumley, Soddy-Daisy; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Falling Water Church of God with the Rev. Michael Farr, the Rev. Millie Swafford and the Rev. Harold Swaggerty officiating.
The family was to receive friends after 2 p.m. today at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Levi cemetery.
Frances Ownbey
Frances C. Ownbey died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 71.

Louise M. Patterson died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Dayton, Tenn. She was 92.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Lonnie Powell
Lonnie 'Bullie' Powell of Chattanooga died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in a local nursing home. She was 51.
She was a member of Greater Park City Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Yolanda Sparks, Dayton, Tenn.; son, William Sparks Sr., Chattanooga; three stepsons, Randy Cleveland, Jr., and Larry Powell, Summerville, Ga.; five sisters, Josephine Benford, Chattanooga, Gloria Little and Jeanette Sparks, Rossville, Marie Herman, Newark, N.J., and Mary Womble, Dalton, Ga.; a brother, J.W. Sparks Jr., Rossville; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Greater Park City Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Hewlett officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Hill cemetery, Summit, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Steven Ratcliff
Steven Ratcliff of East Ridge died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at an area hospital. He was 42.

Charlotte Roberts
Charlotte Virginia Fitzsimmons Roberts of Flintstone, Ga., died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at a local hospital. She was 72.
Mrs. Roberts was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Presbyterian faith. She worked at Chattanooga Bakery for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Wimpee, Chickamauga, Ga., and David Wimpee, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Lula Mae Wilson; and a brother, Chester Fitzsimmons, both of Flintstone; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Forrest Hills cemetery.

Joe Saylors
Joe T. Saylors of Rossville, Ga., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 71.

Burial was in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Katie Sheffield
Katie Mae Sheffield died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at her home. She was 76.

Jessie Smith
Jessie Mae Smith of Signal Mountain died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998. She was 98.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, the widow of William Smith, and the mother of the late Herman Netsel.
Survivors include two grandsons, Thomas and George Netsel, and a great-granddaughter, Alison Netsel.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Marshall C. St. John officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Dorothy Taylor
Dorothy Mae O'Neil Taylor died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at her residence. She was 54.
Mrs. Taylor was a former resident of Tampa, Fla., and had been a resident of the north Georgia area for the past 19 years.
She was a Baptist, and the widow of William R. Taylor.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Allen, Tampa; a son, Michael Allen, Indiana; a sister, Demmie Lockhart, Tampa; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edward Wheeler
The Rev. Edward Wheeler died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in a Murfreesboro, Tenn., hospital. He was 81.
He was a former pastor in Dewberry, Ga., Benton, Tenn., and Dayton, Tenn.
He was a former member of Greater Tucker Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
He was the husband of the late Josephine Wheeler and the father of the late Edward Wheeler Jr., and Shara McMath.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Wilbert Wheeler; four daughters, Patricia Daggett, New York City, the Rev. Wanda McGhee, Angela Jefferson and Susan Freeman, all of Chattanooga; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home with Pastor William McGhee officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Thelma Wright
Thelma Bonnell Wright of Allentown, N.H., died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998. She was 93.
Mrs. Wright was a longtime resident of Chattanooga prior to moving to New Hampshire 35 years ago. She was a member and volunteer with the Senior Citizen's Center in Allenstown and a member of Suncook United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rankin Wright.
Survivors include a daughter, Miriam Hays, Flintstone, Ga.; a son, Duncan MacLean, Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Smith, Leesburg, Fla., and Frances Fanning, Shaftsbury, Vt.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Suncook United Methodist Church, Pembroke, N.H.
