Nathaniel Louis Diamond died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 63.
He was a native of Boston and was a contract driver for the Post Industries Contractors.
He was Jewish and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Longley Diamond; one daughter, Lisa Smith; two sons, Michael Diamond and Brian Diamond, all of Chattanooga; one brother, Edward Diamond, Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with Rabbi Josef Davidson officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fort Wood Place, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hubert Farmer of Chattanooga died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, in Philadelphia. He was 64.
Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery.

LaFrieda Fields died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at a local hospital.

Leroy Hayes
Leroy Jeffery Hayes of Chickamauga died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in a local hospital.
He was a longtime resident of north Georgia and was retired from Schoolze Tannery as a shipping supervisor.
He was a member of the Rossville First Church of the Nazarene and the Concord Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas H. Hayes and Teresa C. Hayes; and one sister, Kathleen Meers.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Killingsworth Hayes; one son, L. Jeffrey Hayes, Fayetteville, Ga.; two daughters, Phyllis Ann Jenkins, Asheville, N.C., and Susan Elizabeth Rule, Chickamauga; one brother, Douglas Floyd Hayes, Hixson; one sister, Gloria Jean Jenkins, Chickamauga; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Rossville First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Robert Huff, the Rev. Tim Pond and the Rev. Dale Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, in Fort Oglethorpe.
James Heard
James Heard died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 76.

Jesse James
Jesse 'J.P.' James died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at his home. He was 68.
He was retired from Pat Way Oil Company.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Maggie James; and his brother, Robert James.
Survivors include his wife, Viola James; five sons, Jerry James, Jimmy James, Eric James, Ronald James and J.P. James Jr., all of Chattanooga; two daughters, Brenda Robinson, Chicago, and Margie Johnson, Chattanooga; his father, Jesse James Sr.; his stepmother, Lillian James; two brothers, Jesse James Jr. and L.M. James; one sister, Georgia James, all of Chattanooga; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at noon at Forest Hills cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Jacks officiating.
The body will lie in state today after noon at Taylor Funeral Home.
Clara Kennedy
Clara Cain Kennedy of Rossville died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in an Atlanta health care facility. She was 88.
She was a longtime resident of north Georgia and was a 70-year member of McFarland United Methodist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She was a graduate of Rossvile High School and was a retired secretary for Richmond Hosiery Mill and Southern Paper Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Clifford Kennedy.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay Kennedy Hinds, Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Laura Jean Myers-Ross officiating.
Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to service time at the South Crest Chapel.

Norman 'Wig' Liles died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at a local hospital. He was 89.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Duretta Liles.
He was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church and was a World War II veteran with the United State Navy.
He was an ironworker for 45 years and was a member of the Ironworkers Local 704 in Chattanooga, Ironworkers Local 384 in Knoxville and Ironworkers Local 70 in Louisville, Ky.
He was a member of the Hixson Masonic Lodge #727 F&AM; and the Scottish Rite of Chattanooga.
Survivors include stepdaughters Cookie Penland, Hixson, and Pat Curley, Nashville; one stepson, David Mahoney, Hixson; two sisters, Dorothy Jenkins, Hixson, and Margaret Bartlett, Miami; one brother, Everett Liles, Hixson; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the members of the Hixson Masonic Lodge officiating.

Billy D. Sansing died Friday Feb. 12, 1999, in Humboldt, Tenn. He was 69.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a service station attendant.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Hoskins Sansing; and two brothers, Gene Sansing and Jimmy Sansing.
Survivors include his father, William L. Sansing, Atlanta; one daughter, Pam Sansing, and two sons, Randy Sansing and Steve Sansing, all of Evansville, Ind.; and one sister, Betty Sansing Clark, Ooltewah.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Mel Crosson officiating.

Charles Shelton died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in a Nashville hospital. He was 47.
