Robert Seepe
Robert L. Seepe died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at his home. He was 64.
He was retired from Anchor Glass Co., formerly Chattanooga Glass Co., a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a member of Coca-Cola Collectors Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Lewis Seepe; three sons, Tony, Chris, and Kenny Seepe, all of Chattanooga; one brother, Fred Seepe, Chattanooga; one sister, Frances Coolidge, Signal Mountain; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rich Brock officiating.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church.
Sarah Shaw
Sarah A. Shaw, a longtime resident of Chattanooga died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at her home. She was 84.
Mrs. Shaw retired from Dixie Yarns and had been owner and operator of Shaw's Nursery & Greenhouse for more than 20 years.
She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, a matron in the Eastern Star and a member of Henry Pierce Masonic Lodge 752 F&AM.;
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Shaw, Hixson; two daughters, Willa Dean Britt and Dianne Hudson, both of Soddy-Daisy; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. J.D. Wright officiating.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home.
Charles Shelton
Charles Shelton died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in a Nashville hospital. He was 47.
Services will be held today at noon at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay P. Trimble officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
John Simpson
John Winston 'Sonny' Simpson died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.
He was a graduate of Howard High School, and A & I Tennessee State University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a retiree from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Simpson; one son, Timothy T. Simpson; two daughters, Jacquelyn Desise Richards and Rosalyn Elaine Bloodsaw; parents, Lola B. and Troy Simpson; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Thompkin Chapel Metropolitan AME Zion Church with the Rev. Thomas Tucker and pastor Derrick Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick & Sons Funeral Home.
Murray Sobel
Murray Sobel died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 78.
Arrangements will be announced by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Barbara Sutton
Barbara Alice Sutton died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 54.
A native of Etowah and a resident of Chattanoga for the past 34 years, she was a member of Brookhill Baptist Church, a graduate of Etowah High School and attended Tennessee Wesleyan College.
Miss Sutton received her training at Erlanger School of Cytology where she was a registered cytotechnologist until her retirement in 1997.
She was a member of the American Society of Cytology, the East Tennessee Association of Cytology and registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis James Sutton.
Survivors include her mother, Ruby Sutton, Chattanooga; three sisters, Mildred Sutton, Chattanooga, Helen Grant, Crystal River, Fla., and Doris Jackson, Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, Bill Sutton, Dunnellon, Fla.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. David Teems, the Rev. R.B. Bryan, and the Rev. Walter Hare officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery.
Barbara Sweatt
Barbara Jean Sweatt of Hixson died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in a local hospital.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with the Rev. David Lee England and the Rev. Chuck Stewart officiating.
Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Harry Turner
Harry A. Turner died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 79.
Services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating.
Burial will be at Chattanooga National cemetery.

Rebecca Vaughn
Rebecca B. Vaughn died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 70.
She was a native of Tampa, Fla., and a Baptist.
Mrs. Vaughn was an avid horticulturist with 40 years as an active member of numerous local horticulture and gardening societies, which include the Designer Study Club and Flower Show Judges Association. She received numerous awards in horticulture.
Survivors include her husband, Kelley L. Vaughn, Chattanooga; two sons, Vincent B. Vaughn, Chattanooga, and Kelley Vaughn Jr., Mobile, Ala.; one daughter, Valorie Osborne, Chattanooga; one brother, Eugene Broome, and one sister, Betty Johnson, both of East Ridge; five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
William Ware
William P. 'Bill' Ware died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 72.
Survivors include his children, N. Jean Knox, Eddie Paul and William P. Ware Jr., all of Chattanooga.

John Wellman
John J. Wellman of Fort Oglethorpe died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at a local hospital. He was 74.
Mr. Wellman was formerly of Eastern Kentucky and was a member of Revival Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Ga.
He was a coal miner for 20 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Charles Wellman, Fort Oglethorpe; and a niece, Dava Faucette, Hixson.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with minister Ronald D. Ingram officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Lena George White of Salisbury, N.C., and a former resident of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., and Naples, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Salisbury. She was 97.
Graveside services will be held today at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Clyde Beard
Clyde A. Beard of Red Bank died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at his home. He was 86.
He was a native of Decatur, Tenn., and lived in Hixson and Red Bank most of his life.
He was a retired purchasing agent for Dixie Bearings.
He attended Red Bank Presbyterian Church and attended Red Bank High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie T. Beard.
Survivors include one daughter, W.E. 'Janis' Coleman, Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one son, Clyde E. Beard, Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with the Rev. Everett Gossett officiating.
Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday one hours before the service at Coulter Chapel.
