Funeral services for Mrs. Mavis Elizabeth Jean Dollar, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her residence, will be conducted Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Dollar was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Thomas Henry Clifford & Rhoda Hancock Jean. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, Mrs. Dollar was preceded in death by her husband: Clifford Dollar. Survivors include 2 daughters: Betty Ann Williams & husband: Joe, Mildred Posey McNatt and husband: Jeff all of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Harry Wayne Dollar & wife: Darlene, Clifford Glen Dollar & wife: Linda all of Fayetteville, TN; 3 grandchildren: Bobby Cleve Posey, Cindy Gail Dollar, Kimberly Darlene Dollar; 2 great grandchildren: Elizabeth Darlene Dollar, Bryan Clifford Dollar and very special friends: Mark & Tammy Thomas. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. James Madison Simmons

December 23, 1931 - June 20, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. James Madison Simmons, age 76, of Tom Woods Road, Flintville, TN, who passed away at the Lincoln Medical Center on Friday, June 20, 2008 will be conducted on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant- Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Winfred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Flintville Cemetery. Mr. Simmons was a native of Lincoln County, TN, the son of the late Richard & Ruby Bell Buchanan Simmons. He was a Tow Motor Operator for Amana, and a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Eillen Gay and a brother: Zolon Simmons. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife: Pearline Simmons of Flintville, TN; a daughter: Sheila D. Tjelmeland of Monteagle, TN; a son: James Andrew Simmons of Lynchburg, TN; 3 sisters: Evelyn Lackey of Kelso, TN, Joyce Simmons of Atlanta, GA, & Linda Simmons of Flintville, TN; 5 brothers: Vernon Simmons, Kenneth Simmons, Tommy Simmons & Frank Simmons all of Flintville, TN, and Joe Simmons of Elora, TN; 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening, June 22, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. Carl W. Spray

February 22, 1935 - July 01, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. Carl W. Spray, age 73, of Fayetteville, Tennessee who passed away at the Lincoln Medical Center on Tuesday Morning, July 01, 2008 will be conducted on Thursday, July 03, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Travis and Rev. James Trivett officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. Spray was a native of Lincoln County, TN, he was the son of the late Willie Robert & Mary Elizabeth Johnson Spray. He was a mechanic for the former Roy Warren Buick dealership and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Mr. Spray was preceded in death by a son: Doug Spray. He is survived by his wife: Mary W. Spray of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Terry Spray and Steve Spray both of Fayetteville, TN; 4 sisters: Elizabeth Rutledge, Mary H. McBay, Betty Marshall, & Laura E. Parker all of Fayetteville, TN; a brother: Robert Spray of Greensboro, AL; and 6 grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 02, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lizzie L. Farmer

April 24, 1912 - July 04, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie L. Farmer, age 96, of Vanntown Road, Elora,TN, who passed away at her residence on Friday Morning July 04, 2008 will be conducted on Sunday, July 06, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Milton Martin and Bro. Craig Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Farmer was a native of Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William & Sally Smith Ogle. She was a retired Nurses Aide from the Lincoln Care Center, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James Theodore Farmer; and a son: James Edwin Farmer. Survivors include 2 daughters: Dean Isbell of Elora, TN, Marvine Hardiman of Fayetteville, TN; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation with family will be Saturday evening, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant- Riverview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lee Gallant

January 21, 1922 - July 5, 2008

Funeral services for Mrs. Lee Gallant, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN, will be conducted Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Don Schultz and Rev. Glenn Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gallant was a native of Haralson Co., GA, daughter of the late William Claudie & Annie Estella Thomas League. She was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church, a member of the Easter Star, Business and Professional Women, former area director of the American Heart Association, a Tennessee Licensed Funeral Director for over 50 years, owner and operator of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home and Riverview Memorial Park. Along with her parents, Mrs. Gallant was preceded in death by her husband: Charles R. Gallant on June 30, 1991. Mr. & Mrs. Gallant were married on December 4, 1947. Survivors include 2 sons: Brad Gallant of Fayetteville, TN, Gary Gallant & wife: Connie of Powder Springs, GA; 1 daughter: Becky Gallant of Hayden, AL; 7 grandchildren: Kimberly Nicole Gallant-Clere & husband: Bruce, Natalie Brooke Gallant-Fanning & husband: John, Bethany Rose Gallant, Blair Deann Gallant-Glidewell & husband: Hugh, Candice Valee Gallant, Amber Leigh Gallant, Schyler Shaun Gallant and 1 great grandson: Garrett Walker Clere; 3 sisters: Jane Higgins, Rebecca Chandler both of Tallapoosa, GA, Carolyn Murray of Heflin, AL. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Mr. A.D. Dollar

September 21, 1923 - July 5, 2008

Funeral services for Mr. A.D. Dollar, age 84, of Taft, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Lincoln Skill Care Center, will be conducted Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with David Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Mr. Dollar was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Ollie Bonner & Mary Beddie Simms Dollar. He was a repairman for Scovill, a member of the Bellview Church of God, a WWII Army veteran and a D-Day survivor. Mr. Dollar is survived by 1 son: Robert Dollar & wife: Wanda of Taft, TN; 2 grandchildren: Anthony J. Dollar & wife: Jennifer, Rhonda Lefler & husband: Allen; 3 great grandchildren: A. Drey Dollar, Gryphon Lefler, Triston Lefler and 2 sisters: Annie Ruth Swinford of Taft, TN, Magdaline Johnston, Jr. of Lewisburg, TN. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.

Dr. Sylvia Ann Hall

September 17, 1932 - July 5, 2008

Funeral services for Dr. Sylvia Ann Hall, age 76, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her residence, will be conducted Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. graveside in New Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dick Maples officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Dr. Hall was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Selvin E. & Alma Smith Hall. She was a medical doctor and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by several cousins.

Mr. David Austin Clark

June 24, 1985 - July 5, 2008

Memorial services for Mr. David Austin Clark, age 23, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at his residence, will be conducted Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Belvidere Chapel. Mr. Clark was a native of Rutherford Co., TN, son of Connie Smith, a construction worker and a member of the Bellwood Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Survivors include his mother: Connie Smith of Summerville, GA; 3 sisters: Sandra Clark-Taylor of Manchester, TN, Debra Denise Clark, Brittany Clark both of Murfreesboro, TN and his extended family, The Burchell's and the Jenette's. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Lee Jones, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. graveside in Stateline Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late James Woodall & Ruth Teilking Rush. She was an LPN and a member of the Stewart's Chapel Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband: Fred Hormer Jones. Survivors include 1 daughter: Freda & husband: Dr. James P. Duggan of Hazel Green, AL; 3 sons: Phillip Jones & wife: Linda of Madison, AL, Ricky Jones & wife: Jane of Knoxville, TN, Tony Jones & wife: Paulette of Madison, AL; 4 sisters: Velma Sanders of Lewisburg, TN, Nellie Boles of Huntsville, AL, Edith Sisco & husband: Troy of Murfreesboro, TN, Lavon Boles & husband: Elvin of Huntsville, AL; 3 brothers: Charles Rush of Fayetteville, TN, Douglas Rush of Birmingham, AL, Dwight Rush of Birmingham, AL; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
