Earl Magrath
Earl K. 'Dutch' Magrath Jr., who built Sir Goony Golf (now Sir Goony's Family Fun Center) in Brainerd and was with Golf Players Inc. for 35 years, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at his home. He was 72.
The funeral will be today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Bateman officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baylor School, the University of Chattanooga or St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church.

Thomas Mayberry
HIXSON, Tenn. - Thomas Carlyle Mayberry died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999. He was 73.
He was born in Nashville, and had lived in the Chattanooga area since 1976.
He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from DuPont after 35 years of service.
He was a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church and the YOMACO Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite M. Cron.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Prowell Mayberry; one son, Thomas A. Mayberry, Hixson; one daughter, Pamela J. Mayberry, Roswell, Ga.; three sisters, Elizabeth M. Abott, Madison, Tenn., Eileen M. Moody, Franklin, Tenn., and Nancy M. Ray, Cedar Hill, Tenn.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Al Bowles, the Rev. David Harr, and Mr. Fay Prigmore officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cora McAllester
Cora Jane MacMillan McAllester of Signal Mountain, and the widow of Spears McAllester, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at a local hospital.
A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at First-Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. Albert J. Bowles Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

G. Howard Pinion of East Ridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at a local hospital. He was 81.

William T. 'Tom' Rogers, a prominent Chattanooga pharmacist and businessman, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 56.

He was born in Madison County, Ga., and spent most of his life in Chattanooga.
He was retired from the City of Chattanooga and was a member of Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Charles Hitchcock, Cleveland, Ohio; three daughters, Gloria Jean Brown, Brenda Ballard and Glenda Provost, Chattanooga; one sister, Willie Mae Trimmier; one brother, Ellis Sorrells, all of Chattanooga; 21 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Billy Ray Westmoreland, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 62.
He was a Baptist, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and was a retired independent truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Leymon and Dimple Westmoreland; two sisters, Betty Parker and Bobby Brown, and a brother, Ralph Westmoreland.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Rae Westmoreland; one son, Kenneth Ray Westmoreland, Chattanooga; one daughter, Kathy Shipp, Rock Spring, Ga.; one sister, Marleita Guinn, Chattanooga; two brothers, Charles Westmoreland, Chattanooga, and Dan Westmoreland, Rossville; one grandson.

Clarence Williams
Clarence Williams of Soddy-Daisy died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in a hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was 79.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Church of God minister.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Williams; five sons, Allan Williams, Tampa, Fla., James Williams, Lakeland, Fla., Mike Williams, Winter Haven, Fla., Eddie Vincent, Soddy-Daisy, and Ricky Williams, Chattanooga; two daughters, Judy Reed, Soddy-Daisy, and Jo Ann Kilgore, Sparta, Tenn.; one brother, Melvin Hulin, Davenport, Fla., and one sister, Hilda Pelfrey, Winter Haven, Fla.; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Thomas Mays Sr. died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, in a local health care facility. He was 70.
He was a cook most of his life and was employed for a number of years by Earl's Restaurant in Cleveland.
He served as dispatcher for A&K; Cab Co., attended the Church of God and served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include two daughters, Donita Helberg, Phoenix, Ariz., and Karen Greeno, Findlay, Ohio; three sons, Danny Mays, LaFayette, N.C., Tommy Mays Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jerry M. Mays, Harrison, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fort Hill cemetery with the Rev. Larry Hamilton officiating.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home.
