SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. - Margaret Rose Gibson died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 51.
She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her father, Alvie Murray.
Survivors include her husband, Freddy Joe Gibson; two daughters, Margaret Ann Smith, Memphis, and Donna Rose Perry, South Pittsburg; her mother, Rosie Bratcher; three sisters, Diane Barnes, Allie May Haley and Gloria Jean Kennedy, all of South Pittsburg; four brothers, Leroy Johnson, Bridgeport, Ala., John R. Johnson, Monteagle, Tenn., James M. and William L. Bratcher Jr., both of South Pittsburg.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg, with the Rev. John Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Gilliam cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Margie Giles
ETOWAH, Tenn. - Margie Lee Moree Giles died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at her home. She was 76.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 96 and Woods Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was a retired chemical operator with Martin Marietta Co. and the widow of Richard Giles.
Survivors include four cousins, Polly, Rankin, Tim and Melissa Moree, all of Sweetwater, Tenn.
The funeral will be today at 8 p.m. at Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. R.B. Bryan officiating.
Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Green Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Tony Giles
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Tony C. Giles died Saturday, March 27, 1999. He was 57.
Mr. Giles was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include two daughters, Casey Grant and Lacy Giles, Dunlap; a son, Otto Giles, Austin, Texas; his parents, Angela and Paul Giles, Chattanooga; one niece and nephew.
A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. CST in Davis cemetery with brother Jerome Stephenson officiating.
There will be no visitation at Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Carl Johnson
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Carl Junior Johnson died Saturday, March 27, 1999. He was 22.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. CST at Ewton Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Breelove officiating.
Burial will be in Collier cemetery.
Roy Lewis
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Roy Olen Lewis died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 56.
He was a member of New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church and an operations manager with Browning-Ferris Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pence Lewis; two daughters, Karen Lillard and Schonna Ledford, both of Cleveland; mother, Charlene Crider Lewis; a sister, Tana Sue Lawson; a brother, Garold Lewis, all of McDonald, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Sears and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
John Loden
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - John C. 'J.C.' Loden died Thursday, March 25, 1999, in a Chattanooga health care facility. He was 69.
He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army after serving for 18 years, part of that during the Korean conflict.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Lea Gideon Loden; two sons, Tim Loden, Sacramento, Calif., and Michael Loden, Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Deborah Lee Jaegge, Chattanooga, and Pam Miller, Birmingham; three sisters, Lottie James, Grandview, Tenn., Ava Hritz, Crossville, Tenn., and Iva Teuber, Cambridge, Wis.; eight grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Smith and the Rev. Kenneth Goins officiating.
Burial was in Spring City cemetery with full military honors.

SEQUATCHIE, Tenn. - C.G. Newsom died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 58.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn., with the Rev. Roger Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Rankin Cove cemetery.
Ernest Peardon
Ernest L. Peardon of Whiteside, Tenn., died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 72.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Peardon.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Clark, Harrison, Joan Whitmire, Chattanooga, and Rita J. Stevens, Henagar, Ala.; his mother, Ada Peardon May, Whiteside; half sister Mary Elizabeth Palmer, Rossville; three brothers, Darnell Peardon, Whiteside, Johnny Peardon, South Pittsburg, Tenn., and James Peardon, Rossville,; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with minister Eddie Reachard officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Jasper, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby Stafford
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Ruby Jewell Gates Stafford died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 92.
She was the mother of the late Johnny W. and Donald R. Stafford.
Survivors include four sons, Joe, Gary, Earnest and Jack Stafford, all of Cleveland; a daughter, Pat Ledford, Cleveland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. in Fort Hill cemetery with Dr. Reed Wright officiating.

Alfred Stephens
KNOXVILLE - Alfred P. Stephens, formerly of Chattanooga and McMinn County, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 61.
Mr. Stephens, a native of McMinn County, was a Baptist. He was the son of the late Alfred Taylor and Annie Mason Stephens and was the owner and operator of Stephens Enterprises.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Stephens, Knoxville; a son, Gene Stephens, Atlanta; three daughters, Cindi Dobbs, Chattanooga, Lisa Sparacia, Atlanta, and Julie Stephens, Knoxville; two sisters, Margaret Anderson, Orlando, Fla., and Jewel Bull, Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Niota, Tenn., with the Rev. Stanley Hammond officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Harmony cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
Martha Younger
DUNLAP, Tenn. - Martha Sue Brown Younger died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 59.
She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was preceded in death by her mother, Angie Lee Brown; and two brothers, James and Eugene Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Younger; father, Ed Brown, Pikeville; three nieces.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. CST at Putnam-Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Clint Huth, brother Kirk Rogers and the Rev. Charles Conley officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Visitation will be today and Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Rev. Earl Bryson died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 62.

Burial will be in Delano (Tenn.) cemetery.
Hyacinth Crowson
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Hyacinth Peavy Crowson died Monday, March 29, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 88.
She was a native of Plaquemine, La., and had lived in Collegedale, Tenn., for 50 years.
Mrs. Crowson was a member of Bowman Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church and had formerly been employed with the cafeteria at Southern Adventist University and as a caregiver for the homebound.
She was the widow of Willie R. Crowson.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Winford Howell, Cleveland; five sons, Glen Crowson, Cleveland, Gene and Carl Crowson, both of Collegedale, Jim Crowson, Naples, Fla., and Mike Crowson, Red Banks, Miss.; two sisters, Mabel Shakelford, Rolling Fork, Miss., and Pearl Hendrix, Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Charles Peavy, Livingston, La.; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with pastor Steve Haley officiating.
Burial will be in Collegedale Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
