He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie McFredrick Stafford, and his parents, Joe Berry Stafford and Andrella O'Neal.
Survivors include one daughter, Angel Stafford, Chattanooga; two sons, John Stafford and Joe Stafford, both of Chattanooga; two sisters, Cleo Mae Ash, Ringgold, and Patricia Stafford, Chattanooga; one brother, Luke Stafford, Chattanooga.
Services will be Saturday at noon at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. James Forrest and the Rev. Jimmy Bowen officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.

Doris Williams died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at her home.

DUNLAP, Tenn. - W. Clifford Barker, who was superintendent of Sequatchie County schools for 13 years, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in an area health care facility. He was 89.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Ewton Funeral Home, Dunlap, with the Rev. Forest Prosser and Dr. Sam McConnell officiating.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill cemetery.
Nicholas Bateman
MONTEAGLE, Tenn. - Nicholas Ryan Bateman died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. He was 2.
Survivors include his parents, Robbie and Tracie Bateman; two brothers, Mackenzie and Dustin Bateman, all of Monteagle; grandparents, Bobby and Sandy Bateman, Tracy City, Tenn., and David and Pat Meeks, Monteagle; great-grandmothers, Joyce Marquette, Tracy City, and Margaret Grubbs and Johnnie Gilliam, both of Monteagle.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Cooper officiating.
Burial will be in Monteagle cemetery.

George Batts
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - George W. Batts Sr. died Wednesday, Mach 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 85.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard McKeen officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Clark Blizzard
HOLLYWOOD, Ala. - Clark 'Sonny' Blizzard died Friday, March 19, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 101.
Mr. Blizzard was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his brohter, Joe M. Blizzard of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

Eupherosin Chase
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Eupherosin Georgia Bonner Chase of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Cleveland, died Jan. 7, 1999. She was 93.
She was a longtime resident of Cleveland and owned Chase Music Studio on Second Street. She was organist at Big Springs United Methodist Church for 40 years before moving to Tulsa, and was a member of the Cleveland Rotary Club and the Garden Club.
She was the widow of T.G. Chase.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas G. Chase Jr., Sarasota, Fla., and Charles B. Chase, Chicago; one daughter, Frances Deane Chase Parks, St. Charles, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be today at 11 a.m. at Big Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Copeland officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery.

Leonard Chastain
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Leonard Chastain died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 65.
He was the son of the late Pearlie White and Oscar H. Chastain and attended Faith Memorial Church.
Survivors include one sister, Gilberta Slack and a half brother, Albert Bowlin, both of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in China, Burma and India, and was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Gregg; one daughter, Debbie Popham, Evansville, Ind.; one stepson, David Carter, Orange Beach, Ala.; one brother, Hoyt Gregg, Cleveland,; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Jesse Allen 'Bob' James died Thursday, March 18, 1999. He was 63.
He was owner and operator of Pump-N-Go Market on Spring Place Road.
He was a graduate of Murray County High School, a member of Conasauga Masonic Lodge and Ocoee Order of the Eastern Star 420. He was an electrician prior to his retirement from C.F. Industries in Chattanooga and a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve.
He was the son of the late Frank and Essie Evans James.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy James; three children, Cassie Keller, Chris James and Bobby James; two sisters, Melba Brock and Priscilla Fesperman, both of Crandall, Ga.; three granddaughters.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Melton and the Rev. R.T. Roberts officiating.

DUNLAP, Tenn. - Warren Nunley died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was 78.
He was a member of the Independent Pentecostal House of Prayer.
Survivors include his wife, Odell Nunley; two daughters, Linda Pugh, McMinnville, Tenn., and Kim Phillips, WHitwell, Tenn.; three sons, Clarence and James Nunley, both of Pikeville, Tenn., and Lawrence Nunley, Dunlap; four sisters, Daisy Kilgore, Tracy City, Tenn., Lucy McCoy, Whitwell, Rose Mitchell, Chattanooga, and Betty Long, Knoxville; one brother, Barney Nunley, Kimball, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

McDONALD, Tenn. - Burless 'Chick' Ownby died Friday, March 19, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 67.
He was the husband of the late Zetty Casey Ownby.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Ownby; four daughters, Colleen Bryant, Mary Bunch, Deloris Murphy and Bobbie Jo Walker all of Cleveland; two sons, David and Danny Ownby, both of Cleveland; two sisters, Alda Mae Buckner, Cleveland, and Betty Jo Harbinson, Maryville, Tenn.; one brother, Donald Ownby, Cleveland; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Walker and others officiating.

Julius Plutchok
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Julius Plutchok died Thursday, March 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 61.
He was the son of the late Sadie Lebowitz Plutchok and Jacob Plutchok and the husband of the late Mary Plutchok.
He was a retired steel worker and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Victory Christian Center.
Survivors include two nephews and several nieces.
Services will be today at noon at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with pastor Ray Aubrey officiating.
Burial will be in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
