Lalar Evans Hardaway died Saturday, March 14, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 100.

Eunice Heathcoat
Eunice Heathcoat of Rossville died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 65.
A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Vernon Windom officiating.

Claire Hayes-Johnson
Claire Hayes-Johnson of Red Bank died Monday, March 15, 1999, at her home. She was 38.
Born in Deland, Fla., she was a sales representative for Penske Truck Leasing in Chattanooga. She was a graduate of Deland High School and Florida State University, where she was a member of Garnet and Gold Key and the Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Jaycees, the Transportation Club and the board of directors for Kids on the Block in Chattanooga.
Survivors include her mother, Linda G. Hayes; brother, David Hayes, both of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Hayes, Deland; and a stepfather, Walter Johnson, New Smyrna Beach.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lankford Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Deland.
Arrangements are by Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.
Vicky Knight
Vicky Sue Knight of Rossville died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 26.
A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was a 1990 graduate of Ridgeland High School and a graduate of McKenzie College.
She was employed by BlueCross-BlueShield.
Survivors include her husband, James Lee Knight; her parents, Charles and Nancy Vaughn, Chattanooga; two sisters, Joann Vaughn and Charla Bryant, also of Chattanooga; grandmother, Bobbie Sanland, Rossville; several nieces and nephews.
She was the granddaughter of the late Howard Sanland, who died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Eulas Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after noon today at the funeral home.

Lucile Chadwick Miller, widow of Issac Junior Miller, died Monday, March 15, 1999, in a North Georgia health care facility. She was 86.

Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until noon at Wann Funeral Home.
Clifford Parrott
Clifford 'Bud' Parrott of Harrison died Monday, March 15, 1999, at his home. He was 70.
Mr. Parrott was a 1947 graduate of Tyner High School and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Daisy Parrott.
Survivors include a brother, Carl Parrott, Harrison; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Browning officiating.
Burial will be in Old McDonald cemetery.

Alberta Sardin
Alberta Frances Sardin died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 70.
She was a member of Joseph Chapel A.M.E. Chapel.
Survivors include her children, Pamela Gant, Herman Gilbert, Roderick, Woodie, Brandon and William Sardin, Ianthe Howard, Willita McConnell, Ramona Beasley and Jamesette Jones; one sister, Junite Flint; and several grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Joseph Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Eveatt Hobson officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens.
The body will be at the chapel after 1 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

LaVeta Seward
LaVeta P. Seward died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at her home. She was 75.
She was retired from Blackburn and Co. in Washington.
She was the widow of Harry B. Seward Jr. and the mother of the late John F. Phillips.
Survivors include one brother, George Freeman; one sister, Robbie Short, both of Chattanooga; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. George Schmidt officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
Juanita Sewell
Hazel Juanita Sexton Sewell of Red Bank died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 77.
A native of Lenoir City, Tenn., she had been a resident of Red Bank since 1964.
She was a former licensed cosmetologist and a licensed practical nurse, working at several local hospitals and at the Hamilton County Health Department.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Lenoir City Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Sewell, and a daughter, Carol Jean Sewell.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Flynn; and a son, Don Sewell, both of Chattanooga; three sisters, Lorraine Foster, Los Altos, Calif., Betty Jo Way, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Lanelle Richards, Knoxville; six grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Dr. John H. Franklin officiating.
Burial will be in Lenoir City cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mattie Jane Dance Sherrod of Knoxville died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in Fort Sanders Park West Hospital. She was 85.
A graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. in Lynnhurst cemetery.

John R. Watkins died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at his home. He was 50.
Mr. Watkins was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a former chef and a cosmetology graduate.
He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and its Men's Bible Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Beulah Watkins, and a brother, William Watkins.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathy Byford and Lura Hatfield, both of Tullahoma, Tenn.

Burial will be in Sheppard Community cemetery.
