Mary Ann McCrary Lowe of Hixson died Friday, March 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 67.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Rivermont Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert Watkin and the Rev. Lina Hart officiating.
Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Edna Monroe
Edna Monroe Jensen, formerly of Chattanooga, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in Daytona Beach, Fla. She was 78.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jensen; her parents, Gerome E. and Alice Dobbs Monroe; and three brothers, Edward, Dunward and Harold Monroe.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Jensen; one son, Bill Jensen, both of Daytona Beach; two brothers, Robert D. Monroe, Hixson, and Warren Monroe, Ormond Beach, Fla; one sister, Pauline Monroe Colliflower, Deltona, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 22, 1999, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Ormond Beach.

Irene Olson
Irene Marie Olson of East Ridge died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 87.
She was a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and the Adult Bible Sunday School Class.
She was an educator for about 20 years in Ohio and Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Delmar W. Olson; one son, Jonny D. Olson, Burlington, N.C.; daughter Marene Marie Cohen, Teaneck, N.J.; one sister, Mildred Marz, Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Jonny D. Olson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o the Adult Sunday School Class, 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ruby Cora Benefield Penney died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a Decatur, Tenn., health care facility. She was 90.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Dodds Avenue Chapel, Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Alvin Tallant officiating.
Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Ronald Pruitt
Ronald B. 'Red' Pruitt died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 78.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Mr. Pruitt retired from the Chattanooga Public Works Department after 21 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II in the European Theater, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Pruitt; two daughters, Nola Pruitt and Frances Worley, Chattanooga; two sons, Randall Worley, Chattanooga, and J.E. Worley, Ooltewah; four sisters, Doris Wheeling, Marietta, Ga., Inez Stewart, Sandra Perry and Tissie Pruitt, Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Doyle Pruitt, Huntsville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Trivett officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.

Alberta Frances Sardin died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 70.

Josef Sentef
Josef Sentef of Ooltewah died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 76.
He was an immigrant from Romania who settled in Philadelphia for 40 years before moving to Ooltewah six years ago.
He had been the owner and operator of Sentef Barber Shop in Horsham, Pa., and a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church there.
He was employed part time at George's Barber Shop in Ooltewah.
Survivors include his wife, Waldtraud Grossmann Sentef; one son, Dr. Joseph Sentef Jr., Ooltewah; two daughters, Jasmine Weidenback, Germany, and Rosemarie Sentef, Ooltewah; three grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Nolan officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel Smartt
Hazel M. Smartt of Red Bank died Monday, march 15, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 89.
She had been a resident of Chattanooga for more than 50 years.
She was the widow of R.T. Smartt and was retired from Southern Saddlery Co.
Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Lawson, Chattanooga, and three brothers, Ralph, Roy, and Al Wilkey, all of Columbus, Ga.; two grandchildren, Chattanooga.
A graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Jan Inmans officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. until noon at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was retired from Mars Oil Co. and Public Oil Co., and was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Peak Brown; stepdaughter, Candice House, Hixson; two stepsons, Eddie Everett, Soddy-Daisy, and Marty Everett, Chattanooga; a sister, Dorothy Haney; two brothers, Harris L. and Pat Brown, all of East St. Louis, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Blalock officiating.

Margaret B. Farr of Soddy-Daisy, died Monday, March 15, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 84.
She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, attended Daisy First Baptist Church and was the widow of E. A. Farr.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Farr, Soddy-Daisy; and three grandchildren, Jay, Charles and Chad Farr.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom McGee officiating.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Bob Grant
Bob E. Grant died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.
The Knoxville native was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a local masonry contractor, a member of Highland Park Masonic Lodge 734 F&AM;, the York Rite Bodies and the Alhambra Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Grant; two sons, Donnie Runyan, Chattanooga, and Allen Grant, Knoxville; four daughters, Jackie Roberts, Janet Grant, Jeannie Wilbanks and Joanne Hooper; one sister, Annette Julian; two brothers, Jerry and Bill Grant, all of Knoxville; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be today at 7 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, with the Rev. Larry Henry officiating.
Masonic graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
