Sallie Grider
Sallie R. Grider died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 95.
She was a native of Stevenson, Ala., and had been a longtime resident of Oak Ridge before moving to Chattanooga six years ago.
She was a member of Oak Ridge Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grider, and three sons, Paul, Allen and Billy Grider.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Morton of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
Clifford Hambrick
Clifford H. Hambrick of Soddy-Daisy died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at his home. He as 78.
Graveside services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Carlos Swafford officiating.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.

Emmanuel Haswell
Emmanuel Haswell died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 84.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Waters and George Birch officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Joe Hornsby
Joe B. Hornsby of East Ridge died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in Ocala, Fla. He was 83.
Arrangements will be announced by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Edgar Hyche
Edgar Erskine Hyche of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a hospital there. He was 71.
Formerly of Chattanooga and Birmingham, Ala., he had resided in Florida for the past years.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hyche, Fort Walton Beach; two daughters, Nancy Sue Baker, North Augusta, S.C., and Patricia Jean Cuhn, Valparaiso, Fla.; one brother, Curtis Hyche, Huey Town, Ala.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 12:30 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Lynn officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends today prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jeanie Britt
Jeanie Ozel Carter Britt of Rossville died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local nursing care facility. She was 85.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with minister Rick Lawman officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
Hazel Brooks
Hazel M. Brooks died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in an area nursing home. She was 87.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of the Original Church of God for more than 70 years.
She was widowed by both Samuel Floyd Scott and George H. Brooks.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny L. Scott, Indianapolis, Ind., William A. Scott, Tampa, Fla., and Gerald E. Scott, Chattanooga; one stepson, Henry Brooks, Chattanooga; one stepdaughter, Georgeanna Brooks, Dover, Fla.; half brother, Noah Mitchell, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Mitchell and the Rev. Charles Jenkins officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Phillip Cameron
Phillip Cameron Jr. died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Cameron was a retired general contractor and a member of Ridgedale Church of Christ.
He was the father of the late Ronald Lamar Cameron.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Cameron; daughter, Phyllis Moore; two sons, Phillip and Lawrence Cameron, both of Chattanooga; four sister, Marine Render, Niagara Falls, N.Y., Alberta O. Jones, Dayton, Ohio, and Addie Anderson and Corene Welbon, both of Chattanooga; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ridgedale Church of Christ with brother Rufus Williams and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in South View cemetery in La Grange, Ga.
Visitation will be after noon today at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Deborah Collins
Deborah Jean Collins died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at her home. She was 47.
A native of Englewood, Tenn., she had been a resident of Chattanooga since 1972. She was a registered nurse at Parkridge Hospital for many years and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis R. Collins; two daughters, Robin Bird, Birmingham, Ala., and Beth Collins, Chattanooga; her father, Lewis White, Sweetwater, Tenn.; her mother, Magdeline White, Athens, Tenn.; and three brothers, Melborne White, Kinsport, Tenn., and Michael and Raymond White, both of Athens.
A memorial service will be Friday at 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road .
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gearldeen Davis
Gearldeen 'Geri' Davis died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 70.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William F. 'Bill' Davis; three daughters, Debra Ray, Hendon, Tenn., Karen Cross, Rossville, Ga., and Teri Bailey, Red Bank; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Evans officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willie Duke
Willie C. Duke died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 78.
She was a Jehovah's Witness and the widow of Ernest Duke.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest Gene Duke and David S. Duke, both of Chattanooga, Charles Duke, Smyrna, Ga., and Ernest James Duke, New York; four daughters, Jessie P. Wynn, New Haven, Conn., Ernestine Hamilton, Charline Duke and Shirley Bennett, all of Chattanooga; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with brother Charles William officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Ruby Fricks
Ruby Cummins Fricks of East Ridge died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 90.
She was a native of Whiteside, Tenn., a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, and was widowed by both J.V. Cummins and Paul C. Fricks.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Alexander, East Ridge, and Anna May Green, Kingston, Tenn.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens South with the Rev. Bob Gilbert officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Robert Glenn
Robert Glenn died Monday, March 1, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was 62.

Clifford Hambrick
Clifford H. Hambrick of Soddy-Daisy died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at his home. He as 78.
A native of Graysville, Tenn., he was a Baptist and was retired from TVA. He as a member of Darby's Rangers during World War II, receiving the European medal with five bronze stars, a Purple Heart, and several other commendations.
Mr. Hambrick served in the Korean War, was a member of Alvin C. York Chapter 82nd Airborne, VFW Post 1289, American Legion Post 100 of Dayton, Tenn., the DAV, Iowa Chapter of the Rangers, Southeast Chapeter of the Rangers, and a member of the National Rangers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Hambrick; one daughter, Shirley Ford, Soddy-Daisy; two sisters, Wilma Hambrick, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Geneva Moyle, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Carl Hambrick, New Jersey, and Earl Hambrick, Soddy-Daisy.

She was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church and was the widow of Harvil Jack Hodnett.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Gravitt, Killeen, Texas; three sisters, Barbara Gravitt, Rising Fawn, Ga., Pat Mitchell, Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Ann Wilson, Flintstone, Ga.
