Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Nix, age 80, of Belvidere, TN, who passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Lynchburg Nursing Home, will be conducted Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Kelso Cemetery. Mrs. Nix was a native of Franklin Co., TN, daughter of the late Marion & Mamie Jean Bennett. She was a housewife and a member of the Smithland Community Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Luke Carlton Nix in 1994. Survivors include 2 daughters: Fay Throneberry of Belvidere, TN, Gloria Ann Capshaw of Christiana, TN; 3 sons: Gary Wayne Nix of Flintville, TN, Gilbert Nix of Mulberry, TN, Guy Lee Nix of Elora, TN; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth H. Key, age 69, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN, will be conducted Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 7:00p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Mrs. Key was a native of Philadelphia, PA, and a housewife. Survivors include her husband: Oscar M. Key, Jr. of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter: Dora Harrigan of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: Oscar M. Key, III, Donald Key both of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sisters: Emily Smith of Boyerstown, PA, Anna Marie Hartung of Philadelphia, PA; 2 brothers: Albert Hartung of Oak Valley, New Jersey, Theodore Hartung of Fredricksburg, VA; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Royce Daniel, age 86, of Huntsville, AL, who passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at his residence, will be conducted Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Mr. Daniel was a native of Elora, TN, son of the late Lindsey Lee & Rosemma Winsett Daniel, an accountant for the Redstone Arsenal, a WWII Army veteran and a member of the Christ Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Janice Hopkins & Yvonne Caldwell. Survivors include his wife: Valentina Daniel of Huntsville, AL; 1 son: Walter L. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mr. Cole was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Carl & Exie Gowan Cole. He was of the Methodist faith. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mr. Buchanan was a native of Lincoln Co; he was the son of William David Buchanan & Connie B. Hicks Buchanan. He was a Truck Driver for the City of Fayetteville. He loved working on old cars and being with friends. He was of the Jehovah Witness faith. In addition to his parents he is survived his wife: Jana Buchanan of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter: Kiana Buchanan of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sons: William Keith Buchanan, Jr., David A’Monte Buchanan both of Fayetteville, TN; a sister: Angelee Hill of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Ricky Howard of Murfreesboro, TN, & Rodney Howard of Fayetteville, TN; Paternal Grandparents: Alvin & Fannie Buchanan of Fayetteville, TN; & Maternal Grandparents: John & Ozetter Hicks of Fayetteville, several uncles & aunts; several nieces & nephews. She was an insurance agent for Womack & Holland Insurance, a member of the Hazel Green 1st Baptist Church and a member of the Tennessee Miniature Horse Volunteers. Along with her parents, Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by 1 brother: Jimmy James. Winfred Stayton officiating with burial to follow. Mr. Edwards was a native of Lincoln County, TN; he was the son of the late Richard Clark & Cora Virginia Britton Edwards. He was retired Boiler Operator from Amana Corp. A veteran of the U.S. Navy. His main hobby was fishing. He is survived by his sister: Mary Belle Bryant of Kelso, TN; 2 brothers: Willie Edwards of Illinois & Gordon Edwards of Indiana; several nieces & nephews; & several great-nieces & great-nephews.
