Perez Prado Sisson Pena of Chattanooga died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 25.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends all day today at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.
James Reece
James H. Reece Jr. of East Ridge died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at his home. He was 60.
Mr. Reece had lived in the East Ridge area most of his life and was retired from Duff Brothers Pharmacy Supplies after 25 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the Church of Christ on Greenslake Road.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy V. Reece, and a daughter, Phyllis Ann Reece.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Josie Hembree Reece, East Ridge; his father, James H. Reece Sr., Chattanooga; two sons, Chris and Eddie Reece, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, Charles P. Reece Sr., Chattanooga, and Norlee Reece Sr., Rossville; a sister, Barbara Alexander, Chattanooga; and one grandson.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with brother Jim Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Reynolds
Mary E. Reynolds died Thursday, April 8, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 68.
She was a native of Birchwood, Tenn., a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and a retired registered nurse.
Survivors include four children, Darryl Reynolds, Chattanooga, Beverly Rodgers and David Reynolds, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Linda Newton, Oakhurst, Calif.; two brothers, Lloyd Eldridge, Mississippi, and Arlington Eldridge, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held Monday at McInturf cemetery in Birchwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5805 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Nellie Stanford
Nellie Irene Stanford of Lupton City died Monday, April 12, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 87.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland D. Stanford, and a son, Medrick Stanford.
Survivors include two daughters, Blondena Reeves and Juanita Morrison; two sons, Charles D. and Clifford Stanford, all of Hixson; a sister, Reba Denson, Fresno, Calif.; brother, Heareld Denson, Fresno; 17 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.
Thornton Strang
Francis Thornton Strang of Lookout Mountain, a Chattanooga attorney for more than 50 years, died Sunday, April 11, 1999 at his home. He was 79.
Services will be today at 4 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain with the Rev. John Talbird officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church's parish hall.
Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity.

Lois Tobey
Lois H. Tobey died Monday, April 12, 1999, at her home. She was 67.
Mrs. Tobey had been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 26 years and was a member of Tyner United Methodist Church, where she served as hostess.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Tobey; five sons, Warren S. Tobey, Joplin, Mo., Wayne S. Tobey, Hollywood, Fla., John D. Tobey, East Ridge, Kenneth L. Tobey, Gainesville, Fla., and Richard P. Tobey, Chattanooga.
Services will be held at a later date at Tyner United Methodist Church.

George Robert Vandergriff, a resident of Hixson, died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 54.

Gloria Wilkins died Saturday, April 10, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 51.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Wilkins Sr. and Lonnie Wilkins.
Survivors include a brother, Matthew Wilkins Jr.; six sisters, Lona Beavers, Betty Jones, Laura Barby, Sylvia Halfacre, Patricia Bailey and Rosetta Clay, all of Chattanooga.

Betty J. Wright of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, April 11, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 60.
She retired from ProGroup after 28 years of service and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse E. Wright; two daughters, Debra Levi, Sale Creek, and Sandra Green, Soddy-Daisy; a son, Kenny Levi, Sale Creek; two sisters, Martha Jackson, Fort Payne, Ala., and Geneva Taylor, Graysville, Tenn.; brother, Donald Maples, Soddy-Daisy; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Bolton officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. EST in Adamsburg cemetery in Fort Payne.
Minnie Bates
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Minnie McGowan Bates died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 79.
She was a member of Blythe Avenue Baptist Church and the widow of Charles Bates.
Survivors include a son, Dennis R. Bates; daughter, Maxine Johnson, both of Cleveland; sister, Gertrude Hutchens, Morgan County, Tenn.; a half sister, Margaret Bates, Cleveland; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Blythe Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Lovelace and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be today from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the church.

Norman Cunningham
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Norman Dock Cunningham died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at his home. He was 49.
Mr. Cunningham, a lifelong resident of Rhea County, was a graduate of Spring City High School and Tennessee Tech University. He was a member of Rhea Springs Lodge 310 F&AM; and the St. Clair Baptist Church and its Adult Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Joani Prather Cunningham; his parents, George and Margie Cagle Cunningham; daughter, Alexis Cunningham, all of Spring City; and a sister, Sharon Roundtree, Athens, Tenn.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Clair Baptist Church with the Rev. Jake Fisher officiating.
Burial will be in Spring City cemetery with a masonic service.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and 30 minutes before the service at the church.

DUNLAP, Tenn. - Bonnie Faye Harvey died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. She was 62.
Mrs. Harvey was a member of Hopewell Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Leland Harvey, and two brothers, Quay and Clay Walker.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie Harvey; two daughters, Emma Beuke, Stevenville, Texas, and Bobbie Gail Hoots, Fletcher, N.C.; three sons, Mike, Tommy and Darrell Harvey, all of Dunlap; three sisters, Renee Mae Foster, Brenda Cambron, both of Calhoun, Ga., and Emma Kay Lowe, Soddy-Daisy; three brothers, L.J., T.A. and Bobby Walker, all of Soddy-Daisy; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. CST at Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, Highway 28 South, with the Rev. Dennis Boston officiating.
Burial will be at Davis Chapel cemetery.
Howard Johnston
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Howard A. Johnston died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. He was 88.
Mr. Johnston was a Baptist.
He was a combat veteran of the United States Army, having served in the European Theatre during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Billy Joe Johnston and Bobby Lee Johnston; a brother, Gurnie Johnston; and sister, Cleona Sherrell.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hatfield Johnston, Cleveland; two sons, Charles A. Johnston, Carlsbad, N.M., and Donald H. Johnston, Cleveland; a daughter, Carolyn Riddle, Georgetown, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Chattanooga Memorial Park with Harvey T. Booher officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

ROCKWOOD, Tenn. - Eddie Eskridge Mann died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in an Oak Ridge hospital. She was 69.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Evans Mortuary with elder Rue Eskridge officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
