Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
Aaron Jones
Aaron B. Jones died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in Houston. He was 40.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was employed by First Fleet and was a member of Olivet Baptist Church, where he participated in the marriage ministry.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Brady Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Yulandra Wiley Jones; three sons, Terrance, Marcus and Stacy Jones; daughter, Shanika Jones; his father, Tommy Jones Jr.; grandmother, Vennie Mae Jones; and a brother, Ronald Jones, all of Chattanooga.
Services were held Monday at Olivet Baptist Church with pastor Kevin Adams officiating.
Burial was in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Taylor Funeral Home.
Bessie Keown
Bessie Evelyn Keown of East Ridge, died in a local health care facility. She was 88.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Brown officiating.
Burial will be at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joey Lawman
Joey Lawman of Tiftonia died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 46.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Addie Lee Lawman; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Fountain and Mr. and Mrs. Pate Lawman; and two brothers, Jimmy and Jesse Lawman.
Survivors include a brother, John Lawman, Bryant, Ala.; three sisters, Janet Bedwell and Judy Harris, both of Chattanooga, and Brenda Wallenhorst, Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
Ruby Overton
Ruby Overton died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 89.
She was a member of Tucker Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Usher Overton Sr., and two sons, Milton and Jerrell Overton.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris Truss and Jeraldine Johnson, both of Chattanooga, and Hazel Malone, Chicago; three sons, Usher Overton, San Diego, Alfonso and Irvin Overton, both of Chattanooga; several grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be Friday at noon at Tucker Baptist Church with the Rev. M.T. Billingsley officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Joseph Pearson died Sunday, May 2, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 88.

Mrs. Willard Pearson died Monday, May 3, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 90.

Terena Posley
Terena Shance Posley, formerly of Milwaukee, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in a local hospital.
Survivors include her husband, James Posley; two children, Jessica Blocton and Emmie Jackson, both of Milwaukee; foster mother, Virginia Blocton; mother, Juanita Jackson, Milwaukee; five brothers, Demetruis Jackson, Clifford Hazlewood, Keith, Jermone and Greg Blocton, all of Milwaukee.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Service with pastor John Black officiating.
Burial will be in Ruth Cofer cemetery.
Margie Railey
Margie E. Railey died Monday, May 3, 1999, at her home. She was 95.

Ruby Rhudy
Ruby Register Rhudy of Red Bank died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 86.
She was the widow of S.D. Rhudy and was retired from Wallis & Son Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Jo-Anne Harrison, and a granddaughter, Susan Harrison, both of Red Bank.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home in LaFayette, Ga., with the Rev. Kenneth Mavity officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel Rountree
Hazel Lee Rountree died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 93.
She was retired from Miller Bros. department store. She was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by a son, William D. Daniels.
Survivors include a sister, Aline Free, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East, with minister Robert Anderson and Tim O'Rear officiating.
Burial will be in Hawkins cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. and until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Leo Scott
Leo B. Scott of Hixson died Monday, May 3, 1999, at his home. He was 83.
Mr. Scott was retired from American Freight Lines and was past president of the Nashville Motor Carrier Association. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Champion Scott; a son, Jim Scott, Nashville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Walter Wendelken and the Rev. Harold Nicholas officiating.

RELIANCE - Roy Everett Bain died Sunday, May 23, 1999, in an Etowah health care facility. He was 92.

Ethel Bryant
NIOTA - Ethel Mae Clark Bryant died Monday, May 24, 1999, at a local health care facility. She was 92.
She was a native of Roane County and a resident of McMinn County since 1949. She was a member of East Niota Baptist Church and a retired employee of Crescent Hosiery Mill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Browder Bryant, and two daughters, Mattie Jane Matthews and Frances Brannon.
Survivors include five daughters, Ruby McNabb, Castro Valley, Calif; Virginia Creasman and Brenda Wright, both of Riceville, Tenn.; Jewell Summey, Canton, Ga.; and Catherene Pope, Niota; three sons, Leon Bryant, Philadelphia, Tenn., Roy and William Bryant, both of Athens; two sisters, Elizabeth Partain, Athens, and Helen Fore, Niota; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at East Niota Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Sikes officiating.
The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Burial will be at Westview cemetery in Sweetwater, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens.
