Curtis Johnson
Curtis Leo Johnson of Soddy-Daisy died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at a Chattanooga hospital. He was 63.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton, Tenn., with minister James W. Shannon officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton.
Wallace Lancaster
Wallace F. Lancaster died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998. He was 81.
He lived in the Rossville area most of his life and was a former inspector with Dan River. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and a Victory Baptist Church member.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Lancaster, Rossville; a stepdaughter, Barbara Keffer, Fort Oglethorpe; a brother, Curtis Lancaster, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, with the Rev. Bill Perry officiating.
Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family was to receive friends today at noon and all day Sunday at the funeral home.
Grady Lemley
Grady T. Lemley died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at his home. He was 79.
The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Terra Vista Baptist Church with minister Clay Lynch officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Dixie Lewis
Dixie Eugene Lewis died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, while visiting Dublin, Ireland. He was 72.
The funeral was today at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with minister Carter Paden officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity or to the Book of Remembrance at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415.

Beatrice Perkins died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 64.

Clarence Quarterman
Clarence Robert Quarterman died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 71.
He was formerly employed by U.S. Pipe Foundry.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Omelia Burney.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Quarterman; two daughters, Letitia Quarterman, Charlotte, N.C., Etta Griffith, Chattanooga; three sisters, Clara Smith, Ethel Mitchell, both of Chattanooga, Magnolia Bailey, Atlanta; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with brother Phillip Henderson officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.
Ruby Reed
Ruby Lea Reed of Ooltewah died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 79.
Services were today at 1 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with ministers James French and Howard Wilson officiating.
Burial was in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
William Richardson
William A. 'Bill' Richardson died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at his home in Hixson. He was 76.
The funeral was today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with minister Jamie Luttrell officiating.
Burial was in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Bud Vaughn
Bud 'Junior' Vaughn of East Ridge died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998. He was 74.
Formerly of Rossville, he had lived in East Ridge for eight years. He was a Baptist and had worked for Peerless Woolen Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ruby Vaughn Sr.; and a son, Charles Vaughn.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Knight, East Ridge, Barbara Stevens, Flintstone, Ga.; a son, David Vaughn, Rossville; three sisters, Evelyn Thurman, Red Bank, Bess Green, Mississippi, Pauline Hackworth, Stephenson, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Varner officiating.
Burial will be in New Home cemetery.
The family was to receive friends all day today.

John B. Walker died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, in a local nursing home.
