Marna Yates Cherry, formerly of Marion County, Tenn., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, in a local nursing home. She was 93.
Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, with Minister Clarence Gates officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery.

Charles Christian
Charles Edwin Christian, a longtime resident of Rossville, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 68.
He retired from Service of America, and was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church, and Masonic Lodge 466 F&AM.;
He was the son of the late Charles Henry and Riley May Christian and the brother of the late Marie Greene and Katherine Caincross.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie Christian; two daughters, Nancy Britton, Ooltewah, Shirley Davis, Rockwood, Tenn.; sister, Ann Lyons, Rossville; and three grandsons.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Hessel officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family is receiving friends at the funeral home.
Linda Christopher
Linda Madden Christopher died in a local hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.
Services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Bozentown First Baptist Church with the Rev. N.F. Ball officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
The body is at the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
Lillian Clayton
BENTON, Tenn. - Lillian Beulah Clayton died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 57.
An employee of Lake Ocoee Marina, she was a graduate of Polk County High School and a member of Zion Baptist Church, where she was director of the Bible Drill Team.
She was a daughter of the late Mark and Pearl Godfrey Evans.
Survivors include her husband, Junior Clayton; three daughters, Marcia McClary, Angie Wilcoxon and Cindy Akins, all of Benton; two half sisters, Freddie Hall, Ocoee and Betty Parker, Cleveland; two half brothers, Bill Presswood, Benton, and Hugh D. Evans, Crossville, Tenn.; five grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Snyder and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, Benton.
Henry Clingan
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Henry S. Clingan died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 77.
He was a lifelong Tennessean, a member of the Church of God, and a retiree of Container Corp. of America.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie E. Goins Clingan; two sons, Bobby Clingan, Spring City, and LaVaughn Clingan, Soddy-Daisy; two daughters, Darline Nunley, Whitwell, Tenn., and Linda Holmes, Dayton, Tenn.; sister, Virgie White, Ringgold, Ga.; four grandchildren; and great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton with ministers Carlos Swafford and Jim Sandell officiating.
Burial will be at Shelton cemetery in Sale Creek, Tenn.
Harvey Clinton
DAYTON, Tenn. - Harvey M. Clinton died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 71.

Anderson Collier Sr.
Anderson Burton Collier Sr. of Soddy-Daisy, died Feb. 16, 1998, in a local nursing home. He was 83.
A native of Rhea County, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a charter member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and was retired from Erlanger Medical Center after 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Thomas Collier; and a son, Tommy Collier.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth McClendon Collier, Soddy-Daisy; five daughters, Rhonda Haynes, Rossville, Joyce Fitzgerald and Shirley Reynolds, both of Dayton, Sue Fulghum and Nina Kilby, both of Soddy-Daisy; four sons, A.B. 'Buddy' Collier and Jerry Holloway, Soddy-Daisy, Kenneth Collier, Red Bank, and Willard Hall, Spring City; one sister, Nancy Shelton, Battle Creek, Mich.; three brothers, Warner and Robert Collier, Tupelo, Miss., and W.A. Collier, Dayton; 47 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and the Rev. David Stancil officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home.

Harold Collins
SPRING CITY, Tenn. - Harold Venard Collins died Tuesday Feb. 10, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 82.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana.
Burial will be in Phythian Grove cemetery in Berry, Ky, with masonic rites.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ware Funeral Home.

Genevra Coop, 81
Genevra Coop, retired after teaching high school in Hamilton County for 30 years, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Coop worked for the Hamilton County Department of Education. Most of her years in the classroom were spent at Red Bank High School.
After retiring, she joined the Chattanooga Board of Realtors, working with Red Bank Realty and Huffaker Realtors. She was a graduate of the Realtors Institute.
She was the widow of Leander M. Coop and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Crawley.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Colvin, Chattanooga, and Carolyn Biggerstaff, Houston; three sisters, Roberta Carter and Katherine Black, both of Chattanooga, and Juanita Howard, Nashville; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Minister Gene Arnold officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Clarence Cox
DAYTON, Tenn. - Clarence Edward Cox Jr. died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in a Dayton hospital. He was 8.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie B. Ervin officiating.
Visitation will be be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pauline Craig
Pauline E. Fearn Craig died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 85.
Mrs. Craig was a 1934 graduate of Howard High School, a member of Wiley Memorial United Methodist Church, and the widow of Thomas E. Craig.
Survivors include a daughter, H. Anita Whiteside, Chattanooga; two sons, Lonnie S. Craig, Chattanooga, and Charles W. Craig, Kingston, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Wiley Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Daniels officiating.
Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Highland cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service.
Arrangements are by the Trammell Chapel of Hardwick and Sons Funeral Home.
Philip Crane
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. - Philip Dale Crane of Miami, Fla., died there Monday, Feb. 16, 1998.
A native of Pikeville, he had lived in Miami for over 30 years. He was a truck driver and was a member and former post commander of the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Crane, Davie, Fla., and Gary Crane, Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Tracy Kensky and Kim Bethel, both of Homestead, Fla.; four brothers, Virgil, Cecil and Auldin Crane, all of Dayton, Tenn., and Eugene Crane, Melbourne, Fla.; four sisters, Minnie Ruth Fann, Frances Morgan and Virginia Stevens, all of Pikeville, and Nina Irons, Crossville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the New Harmony Church of Christ on Dayton Mountain.
