Napoleon Eubanks Sr.
Napoleon B. Eubanks Sr. died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in a local hospital.
He was a member of the Orchard Park Seventh-day Adventist and had attended the Chattanooga Public Schools, Alabama A&M; University and the Tuskegee Institute. He was retired from Southern Railroad, after 37 years of service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Fireman and Oilers and was a former employee of the Chattanooga School System. He was the widower of Evelyn Eubanks.
Survivors include a son, Napoleon Eubanks Jr. of Chattanooga; two daughters, Edith Fields of Campbellsville, Ky., and Joyce McGlory of Des Moines, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 p.m. at the Orchard Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, with the Rev. Edmund Julius officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery.
The body will be at the Avondale Chapel of the Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home today after 12 p.m.
Viola Euler
Viola Lila Euler died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in a local life care center. She was 87.
A native of Merrill, Wis., she had lived in Chattanooga since 1991 and was a ember of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sisters, Irene Jirovec, Wausau, Wis., and Clara Ricci and Eleanor Sukow, both of Zephur Hills, Fla.; her brothers, Elmer Euler Antigo, Wis., Raymond Euler, Longmont, Col., Lawrence Euler, Herber Springs, Ark., Marvin Euler, Chattanooga and Reuben Euler, Saginaw, Mich.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with Dr. Steve Euler officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grave Baptist Church or to Gideons International.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Tammy Evans
Tammy Evans died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 36.
She was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include her father, Williams Evans, Rossville; mother, Billie Evans, Templeton, Fla.; two sons, Christopher and Billy Gann, Rossville; two brothers, Williams Evans Jr., Dalton and David Evans, Rossville; three sisters, Penny Cronnon, Rossville, Vickie Teeters, Ringgold and Jackie Evans, Rossville.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ooltewah cemetery with the Rev. Paul Grider officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
Eliza Fain
Eliza Ruth Fain, who taught at Central High for 30 years, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at a local nursing home. She was 92.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Anderson cemetery in Ringgold with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 6 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Ruel Monroe Fincher
The Rev. Ruel Monroe Fincher, assistant to the pastor at Cloud Springs Baptist Church, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at his Rossville, Ga., home. He was 82.
The Rev. RuelFincher Mr. Fincher was an Army veteran of World War II and a member and chaplain of the Sixth Cavalry in Fort Oglethorpe.
He served as pastor of several area churches, including Pine Grove Baptist, Hickory Grove Baptist, Salem Baptist and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was a member of Cloud Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christene Fincher; two brothers, Frank Fincher, Ringgold, Ga., and Lewis Fincher, Rossville; and a sister, Daisy Dedmon Quarles, Tunnel Hill, Ga.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with Dr. Woody Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
John Finley
John F. Finley died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in a local hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating.
Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia Floyd
The funeral of former clothing store manager Virginia M. Jones Floyd will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
Mrs. Floyd, a former Chattanoogan, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in Pensacola, Fla.

Betty Foster
Betty P. Foster of East Brainerd died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 57.
A native of Viola, Tenn., she had been a resident of Chattanooga since 1980 coming from Knoxville, Tenn.
She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was a customer service representative for Kmart Store for 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Carlos Foster, East Brainerd; one son, Rick Foster, Greenwich, M.Y.; one daughter, Theresa Noland, Ashevile, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road with the Rev. Herschel Woodburn officiating.
The body will be at the church from 1 to 3 p.m.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Manchester, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roberta Foster
Roberta Foster died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at the residence. She was 85.
Arrangements will be announced by Crombie-Pinkard Funeral Home.
Thelma Fowler
Thelma Pirkle Fowler died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, in a local nursing home. She was 91.
A native of the Hebron community in Jackson Parish, La., she had lived in Chattanooga since 1991.
Mrs. Fowler retired in 1966 from her job as a secretary to Surgical Services at the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria, La. She had been an active member of First Baptist Church in Pineville, La.,, the Mary and Martha Sunday School Class and the Joy Club.
She was active in volunteer work, serving as secretary to the NARFE in Pineville, where she was also a former chapter and state secretary. She also volunteered with the Rapides General Hospital Auxiliary and the Rapides Council on Aging in Alexandria.
She was the widow of Orvin Fowler and was the mother of the late James O. Fowler.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula F. Smith, Chattanooga; a son, Malcolm E. Fowler, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Mildred P. Walker, Florien, La., and Geraldine P. Brian, Alexandria, La.; five grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at idway Baptist Church in Jonesboro, La.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Dorothy Fricks
Dorothy Fricks died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in a Jacksonville, Ala., health care facility. She was 81.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a Baptist.
She had previously been employed at Riverly Mills in East Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Fricks; a son, Ronnie Tapp; and a daughter, Leta Jean Williams.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Tapp, Piedmont, Ala., and Bill Tapp, Chickamauga; sister, Rena Fricks, Rossville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
