Willard Hackney
Willard T. 'Dick' Hackney of Soddy-Daisy died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 73.
A World War II veteran, he was a member of Woodmen of the World and the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Hackney; three sons, W. Tim Hackney, Thomas Hackney, Terry Hackney, all of Soddy-Daisy; three sisters, Beady Porter and Lorene Posey, both of Soddy-Daisy, and Flora Wright, Chattanooga; one brother, Millard Hackney, Fredricksburg, Va.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were today at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Barry Kidwell and the Rev. Calvin Nunley officiating.
Arrangements by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of East Soddy Church of God or to Soddy United Methodist Church.
George Hamilton
George H. Hamilton died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 85.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jimmy Ingram officiating.
Arrangements are by the Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.
Mary Ellen Hamilton
Mary Ellen Hamilton of Hixson died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at her home.

Gatha Hardaway
ATHENS, Tenn. - Gatha Hardaway died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, in an area hospital.

Elizabeth Hardin
Elizabeth M. Hardin died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, in a local health care facility. She was 78.
A native of Harriman, Tenn., she had lived in Chattanooga most of her life, and attended Grace Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Crane; one son, Dale Sholts, both of Chattanooga; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Dr. John Franklin officiating.
Burial will be in Tyner cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
George Harr
The Rev. George Oliver Harr died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 77.

Patricia Harris
Patricia Rita Harris of East Brainerd died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at her home. She was 55.
A native of Pennsauken, N.J., she lived in Chattanooga for several years moving from Trenton, N.J.
She was employed with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation where she was awarded Employee of the Year in 1997.
She was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late Albert Ezzi, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, David Harris; two sons, John Evans, Chattanooga, and Brian Evans, Pennsauken; two daughters, Bonnie Evans and Darlene Cavanaugh, both of Chattanooga; mother, Nataline Ezzi, Pennsauken; two stepdaughters, Tamara and Sandy Harris, both of Bern, Switzterland; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, with the Rev. Michael Exum and the Rev. Sammy Popewell officiating.
Burial will follow in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Terri Harris
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Terri Harris died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 42.

Herschell Harry
Herschell Harry died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in a local hospital.

Otis Hatfield
DAYTON, Tenn. - Otis Hatfield died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, in an area nursing home. He was 75.
A native of LaFollette, Tenn., he had lived in Houston, Texas, for the past 40 years. He had moved to Dayton one week ago. He had been a residential roofer and was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Bobbie Posey of Soddy-Daisy, and Edna Pearline Reynolds of Knoxville; and one brother, Charles Robert White of Kingman, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, with the Rev. J. Milton Knox officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday 30 minuted prior to the service at the funeral home.
Terry Haven
Terry Lynn Haven of East Brainerd died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at his home. He was 50.
Mr. Haven was an employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad for 25 years, a graduate of Kirkman Technical School, a member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church and the North River Y.M.C.A.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Haven; one son, Jeffrey Haven, Birmingham, Ala.; mother, Gladys Haven, Chattanooga; father, Herman Haven, Ooltewah.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at noon at Ooltewah cemetery with the Rev. Walter Hicks officiating.
The family will be receiving friends until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Sol Havis
Sol Thomas Havis Jr. died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his home. He was 48.
A native of Chattanooga, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was the father of the late Thrercous S. Havis and was the son of the late Willie Mae Jewsome and Sol Thomas Havis Sr.
Survivors include a son, Xerxes L. Havis; one daughter, Taiquana M. Havis of Atlanta; a brother, Anthony Havis, Chattanooga; five sisters, Beverly Adams, Deborah Saunders, Wanda Witherow, Eva Havis and Stephanie Norwood; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Avondale Chapel of the Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Lindon officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Frank Hawkins
CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Frank 'Old Papaw' Hawkins died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 89.
He was the father of the late Ellen Kyle.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Hawkins; one son, Harold Hawkins; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Hawkins; and a sister Lillie Mae Patterson, all of Cleveland.
Services were to be today at 1 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Humberd Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Red Hill cemetery.
Bertha Hays
DAYTON, Tenn. - Bertha Hays of Evensville, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in an area medical center. She was 96.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Evensville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Hays, Lebanon, Ohio, Lee Hays, Evensville; two daughters, Maxine Hammons, Dayton, Tenn., and Glenda Pelfrey, Hastings, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Vanderwall Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hillian and the Rev. Lonnie Eldridge officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring City Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
