Eva Huggins
ENGLEWOOD, Tenn. - Eva Lou Huggins died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at her home. She was 70.

A member of Shoal Creek Tabnernacle, she was the widow of Willied E. Huggins.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Davis; son, Bobby Huggins, both of Englewood; three sisters, Francis Rayburn and Fannie Mae Duckett, both of Tellico Plains, Tenn., and Ruby Martin, Englewood; five brothers, James Moses, Tellico Plains, Willie and Grady Moses, Englewood, Charles and Thomas Moses, Madisonville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 8 p.m. at Bordwine Funeral Home with the rev. Fon Harris officiating.

Buria will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Prospect cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

'Jim' Hunneke, 58
James H. 'Jim' Hunneke, a well-known stockbroker, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at his home in Hixson. He was 58.

Mr. Hunneke was an Air Force veteran who served as senior financial adviser, manager and partner during his 15-year association with the local office of J.C. Bradford & Co., a New York Stock Exchange company.

He was a member of the financial committee at Hixson United Methodist Church. He sang in a select choir that performed for the Pope in Rome in 1993.

He was a past president-elect of the Hamilton Place Rotary Club, where he served on the scholarship and community service committees. He was also a member of Valleybrook Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Hunneke; two daughters, Kelly White and Kerry Langley; son, Jeff Hunneke; three grandsons; parents, Henry and Jane Hunneke; and two brothers, Rick and Steve Hunneke.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hixson United Methodist Church with the Rev. David B. Knight Jr. and the Rev. James Marquis officiating.

A private graveside service will be held Monday in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Department, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the Hamilton Place Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 25255, Chattanooga, TN 37422.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Christine Hunt
Christine Wilson Hunt died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at a local nursing home.

She was a native of Jellico, Tenn.; widow of Thomas J. Hunt Sr.; and former Sunday school teacher at Northside Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school at Dalewood Baptist Church and was associated for years with Tennessee-Georgia Christian Camps.

Survivors include her son, Thomas J. Hunt Jr., Chattanooga; and sister, Mrs. Lee Lankford, West Palm Beach, Fla.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

William Hurley
William Hurley died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at his residence. He was 72.

He was a member of Alton Park Church of Christ, an Army veteran and a former employee of the Patten Hotel.

Survivors include his niece and caregiver. Mamie Thompson; two nephews, Charles Thompson and Curtis Dyers Jr., all of Chattanooga.

Services will be Saturday at noon at Alton Park Church of Christ with Phillip Handerson officiating.

Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Chattanooga National cemetery.

The body will be at the church one hour before the service and at Taylor Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.

Emily Jacobs
Emily Ruth Jacobs of Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Rossville, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at her home. She was 97.

She lived in the Rossville area for over 80 years before moving to Birmingham.

She was the widow of Graydon Jacobs, and an active member in the Church of Christ for over 75 years.

Survivors include two sons, Wendell Jacobs, Madison, Tenn., and Don Jacobs, Winter Park, Fla.; one daughter, Graydena Dilbeck, Birmingham; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Dodds Avenue Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Centerpoint Church of Christ library, 239 21st Ave. N.E., Birmingham, AL 35215.

Charles Johnson
Charles W. Johnson of Red Bank died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 73.

Services will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelton Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Claude Johnson Jr.
Claude Johnson Jr. died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at his home.

He was a choir member and trustee at Bethlehem Baptist Church, and a former employee of Mueller Co.

Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home.

Edith Johnson
DAYTON, Tenn. - Edith Johnson died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 81.

Arrangements will be announced by Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.

Gordon Johnson
WHITWELL, Tenn. - Gordon Johnson died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 64.

Mr. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitwell and was a member of the Jasper Branch of the Masonic Lodge 297.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Culpepper Johnson; one son, Jeff Johnson; one daughter, Annette Johnson L'Hullier, all of Whitwell; three brothers, Arwin and Casper Johnson, both of Dunlap, Raymond Johnson, Crossville, Tenn.; one sister, Beulah Back, Monteagle, Tenn.; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Jasper, with the Rev. Tony DeYoung and the Rev. Doyle Chamblee officiating.

Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Jean Jones
ATHENS, Tenn. - Jean Kennedy Jones, formerly of Loudon, Tenn., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.

Funeral services will be held today at 8 p.m. at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, with the Rev. Billy Jones officiating.

Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the McMinn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 302 Washington Avenue, N.W., Athens, TN 37303.

Opal Jones
Opal Carroll Jones of East Ridge died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 71.

The longtime Chattanooga resident retired from F.W. Woolworth Co. after 30 years. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church, and was the widow of William H. Jones Sr.

Survivors include a son, William H. Jones Jr., East Ridge; two sisters, Annie M. Carroll and Okla C. Reel; and one brother, Jack Carroll, all of Chattanooga.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

R.L. Jones
R.L. Jones of Harrison died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 63.

Arrangements will be announced by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Janet Kessler
Janet C. Kessler of East Brainerd died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at the residence. She was 89.

A memorial service will be announced by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to Siskin Hospital; Westview Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga; or Ross Memorial Presbyterian Church in Binghamton.

Sherry Kilgore
Sherry Ann Kilgore died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local hospital. She was 47.

A longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a graduate of Brainerd High School, a teacher at the Chambliss Children's Shelter for the past 15 years, and a member of Crumwell Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Murphy M. and Jessie Ruth Patton Thompson.

Survivors include a son, Greg Kilgore, Chattanooga; brother, Marvin Thompson, Lupton City.; nieces and nephews.

Services were to be today at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Myers and the Rev. Richard Cadavero officiating.

Burial was to be in Greenwood cemetery.
