Mr. Sherfield, a factory worker, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Born April 23, 1953, in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Wanda Waites Wolford of Indianapolis, IN. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar L. and Martha Emaline Stone Waites.
Survivors include a son, Gregory Steven Sherfield, Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Kevin Lynn Sherfield, Indianpolis, IN; a sister, Martha Sherry Conover, Indianapolis, IN; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Herbert H. Holt
Funeral services for Mr. Herbert H. Holt, 70, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, July 23, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Holt, retired from the U.S. Navy, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born February 8, 1929, in Monroe, he was the son of the late Jobe and Gurtrude Potts Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Holt; two brothers, Herchell Holt and Noble Holt; two sisters, Willadean Holt and Mildred Newberry; and a half-sister, May Hinyschla.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Todd Holt, Alpine; two sons, Wayne Holt, Monroe, and Timmy Holt, Jamestown; a daughter, Patricia McKenzie, Greenfield, NC; three grandchildren, Robert Holt and Matthew Holt, both of Monroe, and Cody Holt, Jamestown; and three sisters, Pauline Padgett, Monroe, Emojean Holt, Pittsburgh, PA, and Louise Taylor, Coraopolis, PA.
Wheeler Kellow Funeral
Services for Mr. Wheeler Kellow, 52, of Celina, were conducted at 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 1999, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina with Kenneth McClain officiating. Burial was in McDonald cemetery with Upton Funeral Home of Celina in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Kellow, a metal factory worker, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.
Born March 6, 1947, in Hilham, he was the son of the late James Gordon Kellow and Maggie Lynn Kellow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Nora Kellow, James Kellow, Audrey Kellow, Rellon Kellow, and Billy D. Kellow.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Alissa (Lisa) Lynn Stover

Mrs. Stover, a grocery clerk for M & M Trading Post, died Friday, August 27, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1966, in Livingston, she was the daughter of Pearl Breeding of Cookeville and Joe and Dean Breeding of Overton County. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Bowman.

Mr. Ogletree, a mechanic with the Tennessee State Highway Dept., died Tuesday, August 24, 1999, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Born April 10, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Willie Elmer and Lora Edith Swann Ogletree.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ogletree; two daughters, Lorie Faron and Emma Ogletree, both of Cookeville; a son, Bruce Edward Ogletree Jr., Cookeville; two brothers, William D. Estel Martin Ramsey

Mr. Ramsey, a retired interior decorator, died Tuesday, August 24, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Hospital.
Born July 18, 1909, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Porter Lee and Cytha Lee Stockton Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Freeman Ramsey; four sisters, Beulah King, Katie Buckner, Elva Lankford, and Marie Anderson; and two brothers, Clarence and Porter Lee Ramsey, Jr.
He was a member of the Paron United Methodist Church.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre of Operations, the invasion of Normandy Beach, and serving on the U.S.S. Texas during the invasion of France.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in law, Sue and Winnell Howell, Cookeville, Gay Nell and Ralph Phillips, Rickman, and Rebecca Warren, Cookeville; two brothers, Elbert Ramsey, Manchester, and Thomas Ramsey, Watertown; two sisters, Lottie Phillips, and Roxie Wilmoth both of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Barry Bates, Loe Warren, Caleb Carr, Kevin Cantrell, and Lisa Cantrell; five great-grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild. Mr. Dycus, a retired superintendent of Standing Stone State Park, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Born July 27, 1913, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Rev. William Dycus and Rosie Huff Dycus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kate Clark Dycus; his second wife, Daffo Berry Dycus; and by four sisters, Cannie Sloan, Alma Hamlet, Vanilla Smith, and Nannie Mosley.
He was an elder of the Pleasant Grove Upper Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Haydenburg Community of Jackson County, a Mason and a Shriner for 59 years, a former Jackson County Trustee, a former mayor of Gainesboro, a former assistant director of State Parks, a past president of the Rotary Club, and served on the State Primary Care Council.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. D.C. Dycus Jr. and Reva Dycus, Cookeville; a step-son, William R. (Bill) Berry of Lenoir, NC; a step-daughter, Joyce Spears, Rio Rancho, NM; four granchildren, Dr. Doug Dycus Jr. and Margie Stafford, both of Gainesboro, Terry Dycus, Nashville, and Bill Dycus, Livingston; four step-grandchildren, Diane, Donna, Chris, and Claire; and eight great-granchildren, Candice, Jacob, Dustin, Clark, Samantha, Jane Emily, Drew, and Holly.

Mr. Williams, a retired engineer with U.S. Cold Storage Co., died Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at Henry Ford Care Center in Roseville, MI.
Born May 22, 1917 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Paulo and Bessie Christian Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Warden Williams; and a brother, Billie Williams.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and LisaWilliams, New Baltimore, MI, and David and Denise Williams, St. Clair Shores, MI; five grandchildren, Nancy Feldpauch, Jennifer Williams, David Williams, Shannon Williams, and David A. Mr. Huddleston, owner of the Big Dollar Tobacco Warehouse in Sparta, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born February 1, 1912 in Byrdstown, he was the son of the late Samuel Oren and Vera Groce Huddleston. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby McDonald Huddleston; a brother, Samuel Olen Huddleston D.D.S.; and a sister, Delma H. Belew.
He was president of Pickett County Bank & Trust Company, a Mason, and a member of Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 F&AM.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Earl M. (Mack) Jr. and Faye Carrington Huddleston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia Helen Nunley, and Betty Sue and Leonard A. 'Sonny' Allen Jr., all of Cookeville; a sister, Leola H. Sells, Byrdstown; seven grandchildren, Earl M Huddleston III, John Carrington Huddleston, Samule Olen Huddleston, Stanley Gene Nunley Jr., Nancy Elizabeth Nunley, Leonard A. Allen III, and Samuel Earl Allen; four granddaughters-in-law, Candace Allen, Michelle, Allyson, and Sonia Huddleston; and one great granddaughter, Lauren Ansley Huddleston.

Mrs. Kimes, a retired Red Kap Industry worker, died Sunday, June 6, 1999 at NHC Healthcare Center.
Born April 16, 1930, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Albert and Lula Pearl (Moore) Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Auda Flatt and Christine West; four brothers, Herman Bilbrey, Albert Bilbrey, Howard Bilbrey, and Leonard Bilbrey; and three infant brothers.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and she had served and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church for 14 years where her husband was pastor.
Survivors include her husband, Rev Henry H. Kimes Jr., Cookeville; sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Wanda Kimes, Cookeville, Randall and Sharon Kimes, Celina, son and fiancee, Gary Kimes and Erlene Dawes, Cookeville, and son, Jack G. Robert Eugene Carr
Funeral services for Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy, retired, Robert Eugene Carr, 63, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Carr died Wednesday, March 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired Navy Chief E-7, Chief Petty Officer, a member of the First Baptist Church, Battle Creek, MI, member of the Fleet Reserve Association, REACT (Radio Emergency Associated Communications Team International), and various other Military/Civilian associated organizations.
Born February 7, 1939, in Overton County, he was the son of Alvin Coy Carr and the late Myra (Norris) Carr.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include, his wife Le Thi-Trong Carr, Livingston; two sons, Robert E. Carr II, Murfreesboro, and Ngoc Minh-Le Carr, Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter, Rickie McQueen, Hermitage; a sister, Judy A. McCraw, Konawa, OK; and eight grandchildren, April R. McQueen, Allen W. Lowell R. Stephens
Funeral services for Mr. Lowell R. Stephens, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, from the chapel of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Livingston, with Rev. Robert Ziehmer, Rev. Dee Ledford, Dr. David Moore, Rev. Jesse Bradshaw, and Rev. Lyle Anderson officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Stephens died Monday, March 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was owner and operator of the Building Center for 27 years, operated Stephens Builders, and one of the owner/operators of Peoples Dairy. He was a member and deacon of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, served on the Church Board and as youth leader for more than 15 years. He and his wife, Wanda, served on the Young Life Committee for the Upper Cumberland. He was the first Eagle Scout in Overton County, served as Scout Master for over 30 years and received the Silver Beaver Award which it the highest award given to adult volunteers. He served on the Board of Directors of the local Habitat for Humanity and oversaw the first home built.
Born September 5, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Lillard Lee and Lois Valerie (Robbins) Stephens. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Stephens, Livingston; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike Stephens, Tom and Betsy Stephens, and Eddie and Samantha Stephens, all of Livingston; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Stephens, Livingston; a brother, Carl Lee Stephens, Rome, GA; and six grandchildren, Tatum Stephens, Ferran Stephens, Mallie Stephens, John Michael Stephens, Abby Stephens, and Hope Stephens.
Pallbearers were Mike Stephens, Tom Stephens, Eddie Stephens, John Michael Stephens, Danny Smith, Billy Joe Holt, and Billy Gene Gaw.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Disciples Class at First Christian Church and employees of the Building Center.
