Joseph Albert Otto Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Albert Otto Jr., 72, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, December 27, 1999, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Peter Coffey S.D.S. officiating. Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial cemetery with Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Otto, owner-operator of Otto Shirtmakers, died Thursday, December 23, 1999, at NHC of Cookeville.

Born September 10, 1927, in Dallas, TX, he was the son of the late Joseph Albert Sr. and Madeline Enneking Otto. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Ladona Flippen Otto.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He was also a past president of the Cookeville Country Club.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Julia 'Muffin' Otto, Cookeville, Elizabeth Otto Best, MD, Louisville, KY, and Donna and Robert Maughon, Kodak; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe A. III and Wanda Otto, Cookeville; three sisters, Lillian Otto Harris, Rose Otto Hornberger, and Carmen Otto Morrissey, all of Nashville; three brothers, W. James Otto, and James Bernard Otto, both of Mt, Juliet, and W. Thomas Otto, Nashville; four grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart, Cookeville, Michael Flatt, Kodak, Miles Best, and Tyler Best, both of Louisville, KY.

Tina D. Tosh
Funeral services for Mrs. Tina D. Tosh, 95, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial was in Sells cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Tosh, a homemaker, died Thursday, December 23, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born September 16, 1904, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Sells Threet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Boles; two daughters, Idae Mae Boles, and Lois Marie Boles; a son, Cletis Boles; three brothers, Dewey Threet, Dillard Threet, and William W. Threet; three grandsons; and one granddaughter. She attended First Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Tosh, Monterey; four sons, Archie Boles, Cookeville, Johnny Boles, and Ray Boles, both of Albany, IN, and Carl Boles, Dunkirk, IN; three daughters, Anna Fay Daniels, and Mary Daniels, both of Livingston, and Annie Brumblough, Dunkirk, IN; 30 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Adam Daniels, Jimmy Daniels, Terry Daniels, Richard Daniels, Jonathan Daniels, and Corky Brumblough.

Honorary pallbearers were Randal Boles, Carson Boles, Jimmy Boles, and Bobby Boles.

Winfred D. Fleming
Funeral services for Mr. Winfred D. Fleming, 89, of Cookeville, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Henderson officiating. Burial was in Paran cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Fleming, a farmer, died Friday, December 24, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 28, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ras and Sallie Wilson.

He was a member of Church of Christ, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Glynna Fleming, Spring Creek community; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Fleming, Spring Creek community, and Denton and Marion Fleming, Howe, IN; a sister-in-law, Daisy Fleming, Rickman; and two grandchildren, Brenda and Robert.

Pallbearers were L.J. Carter, Art Freed, Gayron Franklin, Albert Julian, Jim Stanbaugh, and Tim Clark.

Thurman A. Walker
Funeral services for Mr. Thurman A. Walker, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Coil officiating. Burial was in Liberty cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Walker, a construction worker, died Monday, December 20, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born December 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Vince and Nancy (Cantrell) Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Walker, Livingston; four sons, Nelson Parrigin, Tony Walker, Billy Walker, all of Livingston, and Thurman Walker Jr., Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Judy Moore, and Aleshia Thomen, both of Livingston; two step-sons, Aaron Thrasher, Centerville, and Charles Thrasher, Livingston; a step-daughter, Joan Masters, Livingston; a brother, Owens Walker, California; a sister, Curl Stover, Allons; 15 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brandon Masters, Thurman Vaughn, Rick Stover, Rodger Walker, Gary Walker, and Larry Walker.

Shirley Joe "Jody" Ford
Funeral services for Mr. Shirley Joe "Jody" Ford, 61, of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 1999, from Allons Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Scroggins officiating. Burial was in Bethel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ford, a self-employed field stone worker, died Friday, December 24, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 17, 1938, in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Dewey and Nancy Crabtree Ford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Ford; and two sisters, Carrie Martin, and Stella Mae Phillips.

He was a member of Falling Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Scotty and Charlotte Ford, and Randy and Stephanie Ford, all of Rickman; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tresta Ford, Livingston, Misty and Andy Crabtree, Hilham, and Melissa and John Daniels, Willow Grove community; four brothers, Alvin Ford, Claude Ford, John Ford, and Clayton Ford, all of Crossville; a half brother, Ray Ford, Texas; three sisters, Ruby Thomas and Mary Taylor, both of Anderson, IN, and Wanda Redwine, New Castle, IN; and eight grandchildren, Wade Ford, Olivia Ann McDonald, Jessica Ford, Nicole Ford, Dalton Daniels, Karah Daniels, Harley Crabtree, and Austin Ford.

Pallbearers were Claude Norris, John Daniels, Chris Mitchell, Wade Ford, Billy Cole, and Billy Joe Norris.

Michael J. Phillips
Memorial services for Mr. Michael J. Phillips, 24, of Gainesboro, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2000, from Rock Springs Church of Christ, located in the Pea Ridge community of Clay County, with Bro. Ken Miller officiating.

Mr. Phillips died Sunday, December 26, 1999, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

Survivors include his mother, Lee Coan, Gainesboro; step-father, Bob Coan, Celina; two brothers, Anthony Phillips, Gainesboro, and Bobby Phillips, North Carolina; a niece, DeAnna Phillips; and a nephew, Anthony Phillips II.

The memorial service is being held in lieu of a funeral due to Mr. Phillips' last wishes to donate all vital organs and tissues for transplant purposes.

Rose Lee Sidwell
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lee Sidwell, 52, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in Fellowship cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sidwell, a housewife, died Thursday, December 16, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 19, 1947, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Burchie (Conner) Sells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sidwell. She was a member of Allons Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Paul Evin Sidwell, Allons; two daughters, Tammy Daniels and Anna Reece, both of Livingston; three brothers, James Sells, Arlie Sells, and Haggard Sells, all of the Willow Grove community; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Coffman, Gary Coffman, Barry Staggs, Mickey Bowman, Dale Hargis, and Jerry Reece.

Gloria Nevada Leone
Mrs. Gloria Nevada Leone, 68, of Livingston, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, at her home. Speck Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Leone was a retired factory worker wih Boeing Aircraft.

Born June 28, 1931, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Gipson) Clift.

Survivors include a brother, Billy Clift, Cookeville; a sister, Mildred Cook, Hilham; a niece, Barbara Franklin, Hilham; and a nephew, Ronald Brown, Cookeville.

Clifton Thompson
Funeral services for Mr. Clifton Thompson, 61, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 20, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens, with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Thompson, owner of Livingston Manufacturing Company for many years, died Saturday, December 18, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born May 23, 1938, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jim and Annie Dale Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Thompson.

He was affiliated with First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Thompson, Livingston; a son, Jim Thompson, Livingston; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bruce Elder, Livingston; a brother, Freeman Thompson, Livingston; eight sisters, Bessie Smith, Cookeville, Normagene Smith, Villa Maxwell, both of Hilham, Ruby Smith, Rickman, Veechel Stringfellow, Richmond, VA, Zilphia Barlow, Algood, Mary Lou Kottong, Indian Mound, and Marcella Lancaster, Livingston; and two grandchildren, Daniel Elder and Rachel Elder, both of Livingston.

Pallbearers were James Elder, Omer Haile, Drue Huffines, Bill Huff, Danny Norrod, and Jerry Kinchen.

Claud L. Matthews
Funeral services for Mr. Claud L. Matthews, 52, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Dr. David Davis officiating. Burial was in Crawford cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Matthews, a banker, died Monday, December 6, 1999, at his home.

Born June 2, 1947, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Robert and Leta (Bilbrey) Matthews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Matthews; and a sister, Florence Anna Hall.

He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Matthews, Livingston; three daughters, Michelle Matthews, Cookeville, Kim Matthews, and Stephanie Matthews, both of Livingston; three brothers, Horace Matthews, Anderson, IN, Earl Matthews, Livingston, and Hoyet Matthews, Rickman; two sisters, Frances Matthews, and Pauline Spicer, both of Rickman; and a grandson, Tyler.

Pallbearers were Johnny Brown, George Wright, Donald Moody, Jesse Matthews, Clarence Spicer, and Bobby Matthews.

Forest E. Martin
Funeral services for Mr. Forest E. Martin, 72, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 1999, from the First Christian Church in Byrdstown with Bro. Gene Grasham officiating. Burial was in Vann's Branch cemetery with Byrdstown Memorial Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Martin, a livestock dealer, died Tuesday, December 7, 1999, at the Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born June 19, 1927, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Luther O. and Ada (Harrison) Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. (Groce) Martin, Byrdstown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Lynn Smith and Barbara and Butch Smith, all of Byrdstown; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Shellie Martin, Cookeville; three sisters, Clevie Riley, Glasgow, KY, Georgia Johnson, Lebanon, and Bea Coleman, Livingston; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pickett County Library Fund c/o Union Planters Bank, 202 W. Main St., Byrdstown, TN 38549.

Ruth Miller
Funeral services for Ms. Ruth Miller, 43, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2001, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial was in the Concord cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Miller died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker.

Born May 22, 1957, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Larmon and Delia Mae (Johnson) Crabtree.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Scotty Dale and Melissa Staggs, and William Edward and Charlotte Hammock, all of Livingston; a companion, James Beechboard, Livingston; three aunts, Beulah Tharp and Julie Dailey, both of Hilham, and Dora Anderson, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randall Day, Richard Hammock, Mike Kernell, Dennis Tharp, Lester Tharp, and Perry Tharp.
