Funeral services for Mr. Lecil Randolph Colson, 65, of Muncie, IN, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, from the chapel of Parson Mortuary with Pastor Phil Gabriel officiating. Burial was in Elm Ridge Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Honor Guard of Delaware County, IN. Parson Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Colson died Monday, July 8 at his home. He was a gear lab technician, having retired from New Venture Gear after 35 years of service. He was also a member of United Auto Workers local Union 499. He attended school at Livingston Academy and IVY Tech and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Born April 4, 1937, in Livingston, he was the son of the late Willie Mae (Long) and Herschel Colson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bedford Colson; and a sister, Ann Whitsett.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Colson, Muncie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Juestin Sweet, Mooreland, IN, and Cynthia and Jason Stoner, Avon, IN; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward and Lucille Colson, Monroe, Craig Colson, Livingston, and Bobby and Margaret Colson, Johnson City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Loretta Rainey, Lewisville, IN, and Opal and Detro Pryor, Monroe; a granddaughter, Kyrie Mackey, Orlando, FL; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Vonda Gillentine
Funeral services for Mrs. Vonda Gillentine, 86, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Boles and Bro. Chris Coil officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs.Gillentine died Thursday, July 11 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a factory worker and a member of Livingston Church of Christ.
Born March 3, 1916, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martha (Brown) Coffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Turner Gillentine; five brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Leon Gillentine and Carson Gillentine, both of Hilham, and William Gillentine, Nashville; a daughter, Janette Spears, Livingston; two brothers, Albert Coffman and Willis Coffman, both of Hilham; a sister, Louise Moss, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Tracy Albert Hammons
Funeral services for Mr. Tracy Albert Hammons, 74, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Okolona cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Hammons died Thursday, June 27 at his home. He was a retired road construction worker, a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Born January 16, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Rastus and Ella (Stockton) Hammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Averitt Deloy Hammons and J.B. Hammons; and two sisters, Dessie Bilbrey and Melissa "M.B." Brown.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Lela Carmack, Livingston; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ralph Bilbrey, Danny Bilbrey, Billy Bilbrey, Rodney Phillips, Ryan Johnson, and Jeff Hammons.
Desiree (Tackett) Laurie
Memorial services for Mrs. Desiree (Tackett) Laurie, 39, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, from Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Livingston with Bro. Keith Ledbetter officiating. Livingston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Laurie died Saturday, July 6 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville. She served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Jehovah's Witness Church.
Born May 3, 1963, in Glasgow, MT, she was the daughter of Bruce Tackett of Elk, WA, and Margaret (Bradford) Tackett of Seaside, OR. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Randy Laurie, Cookeville; a daughter, Rachel Laurie, Cookeville; two sons, Taylor Laurie and Ryan Laurie, both of Cookeville; a step-son, David Laurie, New Castle, IN; three sisters, Connie Dodge, Spokane, WA, Lynn Starks, San Antonio, TX, and Leslie Smiley, Seaside, OR; a brother, Steven Smiley, Kalispell, MT; and two grandchildren.
Reva Ova Ledford

Born September 12, 1919, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Grant and Sarah (Franklin) Smith.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gentry and Dorothy Ledford, Livingston, and Keith and Gail Ledford, Alpine; a brother, Oren Smith, Detroit, MI; a sister, Opha Reynolds, Livingston; and three grandchildren, Jamie, Terri, and Ginger.
Helen Marie (Goolsby) Moore

Mrs. Moore died Sunday, July 7 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville She was a restaurant worker and of the Church of Christ faith.
Born May 9, 1927, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Cortez and Bessie Lou (Petty) Goolsby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin Moore; a sister, Mary Goolsby; two brothers, Paul Thurman Goolsby and Cecil Claude Goolsby; and a grandaughter, Shawna Stewart.
Survivors include a daughter, Claudine Stewart Moon, Cookeville; three sons, Danny K. Stewart, Decatur, David Steven Stewart, Cookeville, and Michael Nelson Stewart, Livingston; four sisters, Brenda Flatt and Joyce Hoese, both of Cookeville, Polly Jackson, Bloomington Springs, and Jessie Mae Chance, Panama City, FL; a brother, Bailey Dee Goolsby, Bloomington Springs; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Mrs. Reeder died Friday, July 5 at her daughter's home. Born August 10, 1904, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Tim S. and Rebecca (Kennedy) Allred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Martin L. Flowers and Oscar D. Reeder; a son, O.D. Flowers; a brother, Alfred Allred; two sisters, Ava (Allred) Wisdom and Colva (Allred) Winningham; and nieces and nephews.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Oneda (Flowers) and John Haney and Ava (Flowers) Sutton, all of Medina, OH, and Glenda (Reeder) Fleetwood, McLeansboro, IL; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Leola (Reeder) and Wendell Camden and Arlene (Reeder) and Ed Xandres, all of Mt. Dennis Reed "Danny" Riley Sr.
Graveside services for Mr. Dennis Reed "Danny" Riley Sr., 46, of Rickman, were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Poplar Grove cemetery in Red Banks, KY, with Rev. Gene Whites officiating. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home of Cookeville was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Riley died Sunday, July 14 from injuries he received in an automobile accident near his home. Born November 4, 1952, in Jeffersonville, IN, he was the son of Edith (Riley) Hamilton of Vine Grove, KY, and the late Lyons Riley.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a son, Dennis R. Riley Jr., Rickman; two daughters, Shera Riley, Cookeville, and Michelle Riley, Jackson, NC; a sister, Diane Kent, Elizabethtown, KY; and a grandson, Levi Hawkins, Jackson, NC.
Myrtle Gertrude (Nelson) Sells

Mrs. Sells died Monday, July 8 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Born February 16, 1913, in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Davis) Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest G. Sells; a son, Larry Sells; two brothers, Charles Nelson and Robert Nelson; and two sisters, Dorothy Burkholder and Sarah Sabo.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Forrest C. and Myra Sells, Monroe; a sister, Freda Westfall, Ohio; two grandchildren, Gary Sells, Cookeville, and Donald and Wanda Sells, Ohio; three great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Charlie Nesbitt Terry

Born October 8, 1928, in Celina, he was the son of the late William David and Mae (Thurman) Terry.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Brannum) Terry, Celina; a brother, Raymond Terry, Celina; a sister, Betty June Terry, Celina; a niece, Mary Emerton, Celina; and a nephew, David Terry, Celina.
Clara E. Ward

Mrs. Ward died Tuesday, July 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of First Assembly of God.
Born January 10, 1922, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late William Benton and Emma Avo (Carmack) Danner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Ward; two sons, William Allen Ward and an infant son; and a granddaughter, Lisa Coffey.
Survivors include three sons, James Ward, Jerry Ward, and Jack Ward, all of Livingston; seven daughters, Bonnie Strong and Debra Bilbrey, both of Hilham, Linda Sells, Livingston, Kathy Hewitt, Rickman, Maxine Crewdson, Nitro, WV, Darlene Pennington, New Hope, and Vickie Deck, Dodson's Branch; five sisters, Ione Ward, Dayton, OH, Jean Day, Cookeville, Anna Mae Hogue, Byrdstown, and Mildred Savage and Faye Hultberg, both of Livingston; 27 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.

He was a retired concrete finisher and a member of the Tyler Point Freewill Baptist Church.
Born January 12, 1937, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Billy Matt and Myrtle (Phipps) Ray.
