Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Kirby, 77, of Cookeville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 10, 1999, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Oaks and Rev. Carson Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Mrs. Kirby, a homemaker, died Sunday, November 7, 1999, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.

Born March 14, 1922, in Monterey, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Clora Vaughn McCowan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kirby.

She was affiliated with Cookeville Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha Kirby and Gena and Randy Bilbrey, all of Cookeville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Esther Kirby, Eaton, IN, and Sherlon and Marie Kirby, Nashville; two sisters, Cliva Phipps, Monterey, and Myrtle Wilson, Cookeville; two brothers, Homer McCowan and A.C. McCowan, both of Monterey; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Joyce White Nelson
Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce White Nelson, 57, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 1999, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Dow Allen and Bro. Arvel Lee officiating. Burial was in J.J. White cemetery in Putnam County with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Nelson, a buyer for McCord Corporation, died Sunday, November 7, 1999, at her home.

Born December 27, 1941, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late J.T. and Mary (Ballard) White.

She was affiliated with Post Oak Shade Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Z.L. Nelson, Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Mike Selby, Sparta; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl White and Robert L. "Bob" and Linda White, all of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Kayla Eldridge, Kellye Eldridge, and Jordan Selby, all of Sparta.

Pallbearers were her nephews.

Odell Dulworth
Funeral services for Mr. Odell Dulworth, 80, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 8, 1999, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home with Robert Thurman officiating. Burial was in Dailey cemetery in Hilham with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Dulworth, a retired truck driver, died Saturday, November 6, 1999, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.

Born October 19, 1919, in Willow Grove, he was the son of the late Charlie Dulworth and Rosetta Mathis Dulworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Otis Dulworth.

Survivors include his wife, Ollie Dailey Dulworth, Clay County; three sons, Robert Dulworth, Mack Dulworth, and Harold Dulworth, all of Celina; two daughters, Mary Ann Taylor, Lebanon, and Rosa Nell Dulworth, Celina; three brothers, Kirby Dulworth and Cordell Dulworth, both of Winfall, IN, and Edward Dulworth, Springfield; a sister, Ann Rich, Celina; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Alethia Jean Breviann Copeland
Funeral services for Miss Alethia Jean Breviann Copeland, infant, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Dixon officiating. Burial was in Carter-Bilbrey cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Miss Copeland died Monday, January 31, 2000, at her home.

Born January 12, 2000, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Carl and Karen (Scott) Copeland of Livingston. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, M.C. Copeland, and a great grandfather, Alford Scott.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a brother, Joseph Scott, Livingston; two sisters, Helen Copeland and Ally Copeland, both of Livingston; grandparents, Larry and Sandra Scott, Livingston, and Wilma Copeland, Monterey; great grandparents, Homer and Geneva Cooper, Rickman, and Bill and Nellie Johnson, Livingston; and two aunts, Lois Scott, Livingston, and Karen Copeland, Monterey. Pallbearers were Tim Cooper, Donald Cooper, and David Cooper.

Sally Margie Smith Halleran
Funeral services for Mrs. Sally Margie Smith Halleran, 85, of Cookeville were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2000, from the chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home with Bro. Ferrell Looper officiating. Burial was in Bohannon cemetery with Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Halleran, a homemaker, died Thursday, February 3, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Hospital Medical Center.

Born February 12, 1914, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Alb and Kate Buckner Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Forest Smith and George Halleran; a sister, Vallie Moore; and three brothers, Joe Walker, Frank Walker, and Johnny Walker. She attended the Faith Outreach Worship Center in Livingston.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Bilyeu, Russelville, KY, and Wilma Jean Franklin and Betty C. Smith, both of Cookeville; four sons, Clarence Smith, McKenzie, and Harold Ray Smith, Bobby Smith, and Donnie Smith, all of Cookeville; two sisters, Mae Patton, Dayton, OH, and Mary Belle Jessee, Bristol, VA; 17 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and 16 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Justin Hargis
Funeral services for Mr. Justin Hargis, 41, of Monterey were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2000, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home of Monterey with Rev. Clayton Padgett and Rev. Gary Farris officiating. Burial was in Welch Memorial cemetery with Goff Funeral Home of Monterey in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hargis, a factory worker with Dacco in Cookeville, died Thursday, February 3, 2000, in Cookeville.

Born August 18, 1958, in Monterey, he was the son of Odell and Velma Bowman Hargis.

Survivors include his mother, Velma Bowman Hargis, Monterey; his father, Odell Hargis, Monterey; a daughter, Misty Hargis, Monterey; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Barbara Hargis, Livingston; and his maternal grandmother, Etta Bowman, Livingston.

Richard Erie Fish
Funeral services for Mr. Richard Erie Fish, 42, of Rickman, were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Brunsford England officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Sparta with Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Fish, an electrician, died Monday, January 31, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born April 7, 1957, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Ruby Fish and the late Rev. James Flatt.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the Tennessee National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly (Hicks) Fish, Rickman; his mother, Ruby Fish, Sparta; four children all of Michigan; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Swallows, Rickman; a stepson, Jason Swallows, Rickman; two brothers, Jim Fish, Sparta, and Michael Fish, Michigan; and four sisters, Nancy Campbell, Indiana, Kathy Harrington, Virginia, Patty Bilyeu, Sparta, and Rose Fish, Nashville.

Verdie Kenneth Massa
Funeral services for Mr. Verdie Kenneth Massa, 66, of Baxter, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 1999, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Joe Britt officiating. Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Cookeville with Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Massa, a retired maintenance employee with Tennessee Technological University, died Thursday, November 4, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Born July 16, 1933, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late George and Ova (Thomas) Massa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dudley Massa.

He was of the Church of Christ Faith.

Survivors include, his wife, Mae (Maynard) Massa, Baxter; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Herman Brady, Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Massa, Baxter; three sisters, Sue McCaleb, Birmingham, AL, and Florene Davis and Thelma Massa both of Cookeville; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Maynard Randolph, Cookeville; a granddaughter, Nicole Massa; three step-grandchildren, Matt, Tammy, and Beth Brady; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Fannie Boone Gaw
Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Boone Gaw, 94, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Threet officiating. Burial was in Ray Williams cemetery in Celina with Speck Funeral Home of Livingston in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gaw, a housewife, died November 1, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born August 24, 1905, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Wash and Emiline Cain Killmon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wid T. Boone; and her second husband, William Gaw.

She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Boone, Livingston, and Carl Boone and Delmos 'Pete' Boone both of Celina; a daughter, Novena Spears, Indianapolis, IN; and a daughter and son-in-law, Winnie and Hubert Blair, Lafayette; a sister, Cora Garrett, Celina; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tommy Thurman, Winston Smith, Pete Jr. Boone, Gene Smith, Ronnie Killmon, and Tommy Perdue.

Alvin Earl Hicks
Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Earl Hicks, 85, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown with Rick Cross officiating. Burial was in Cope cemetery in Pickett County with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hicks died Wednesday, March 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Born May 23, 1916, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Butler and Susan (Garrett) Hicks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Magnolia "Maggie' Hicks; a son, Raymond Hicks; two brothers, Alfred Hicks and Marvin Hicks; and three sisters, Hestel Hill, Elsie Hill, and Ethel Winningham.

Survivors include a daughter, Earline Sisson, Oak Ridge; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Randall and Linda Hicks, Donald and Kristy Hicks, and Ronald Hicks, all of Monroe, and Charles and Debbie Hicks, Livingston; two sisters, Tennie Tucker, Monroe, and Gladys Copeland, Livingston; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Chris Hicks, Jason Hicks, Bobby Jones, Fred Jones, Donnie Cranfield, and John Cranfield.

Marilyn Kaye (Johnson) Savage
Funeral services for Mrs. Marilyn Kaye (Johnson) Savage, 43, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Pinnick officiating. Burial was in Mt. Gilead cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Savage died Wednesday, March 27 at her home. She was a garment factory worker, and a member of the Full Gospel Church in Livingston.

Born August 20, 1958, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Myrtle (Day) Johnson of Livingston and the late Houston Johnson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Coffee.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Rick Savage, Livingston; two sons, Geoff Savage and Dustin Savage, both of Livingston; a stepson, Josh Bolton, Greenville, OH; a sister, Donna Martin, Livingston; a niece and a nephew; and two great nieces. Pallbearers were William Johnson, Danny Day, Shawn Vanlue, Michael Stover, Chris Stone, and Ronald Martin.

Dolphus "Doc" Romines
Funeral services for Mr. Dolphus "Doc" Romines, 87, of the Shady Grove Community near Monterey, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 3, 2002, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Bob Keitch and Rev. Claudia Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Romines died Monday, April 1 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and Monterey Masonic Lodge #651. He was a farmer and retired from McCords in Cookeville after 23 years of service.

Born April 4, 1914, in Shady Grove, he was the son of the late Charlie and Ollie (Stamps) Romines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Orgie Andrews, Eldie Romines, and Mary Lee Ray.

Survivors include his wife, Zenobia (Phillips) Romines, Shady Grove Community; two daughters, Katherine Beaty, Monterey, and Oleta Overstreet, Cookeville; four sons, Bill Romines and Steve Romines, both of the Shady Grove Community, Kenneth Romines, Cookeville, and Thomas Romines, Nashville; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Woodrow "Sonny" Roam
Funeral services for Mr. Woodrow "Sonny" Roam, 88, of Monroe, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Glen H. Ledbetter officiating. Burial was in Taylor cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Roam died Thursday, March 28 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Born April 15, 1913, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Porter and Frona Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Roam and Hattie Roam.

Survivors include a sister, Addie Roam, Livingston; a special cousin, Raleigh Melton, Allons; and other cousins. Pallbearers were Steve Poston, Brandon Melton, Landon Melton, Bryan Melton, Jason Mott, and Rickey Mott.
