Jeffery Dale Lee
Funeral services for Mr. Jeffery Dale Lee, 40, of Monroe, were conducted Sunday, October 8, 2000, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home of Byrdstown with Jeff Flowers and Cletis Beason officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Lee, a logger, died Thursday, October 5, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born September 24, 1960, in Overton County, he was the son of Willie and Wanda Byrd Lee of Monroe.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Nada Smith Lee, Monroe; a son, Johnny Lee, Monroe; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Michelle Lee, Monroe; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Johnny Byrd, Terry Byrd, Jerry Masiongale, Gary Masiongale, Timmy Smith, and Darrell Garrett.

Laura (Bledsoe) Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Laura (Bledsoe) Brown, 82, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Newsome Harvey officiating. Burial was in Ruth Chapel cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Overton County Nursing Home. She was a housewife and a member of Ruth Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Born Oct. 7, 1919, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Brookie Belle (Wright) Bledsoe.

Survivors include her husband, Benton T. Brown, Livingston; a brother, Frank Bledsoe, Akron, OH; a sister, Anna Belle Schinault, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jimmie Brown, Durran Lewis, Guyland Lewis, Ronnie Gore, Douglas Ledbetter, and Junior Linder.

Ova (Kearney) Tompkins
Funeral services for Mrs. Ova (Kearney) Tompkins, 89, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown with Bro. Ricky Cross and Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating. Burial was in Amonett cemetery in Pickett County with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Tompkins died Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Clinton County Hospital in Albany, KY. She was a homemaker and child care provider, and attended several churches.

Born April 8, 1912, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie Lee (Pile) Kearney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Benton Mitchell; her second husband, Houston Tompkins; four step-sons, Sam Mitchell, Richard Mitchell, Lonza Mitchell, and Thomas Mitchell; a stepdaughter, Esther Coe; three sisters, Lee Upchurch, Dora Davidson, and Ruby Davidson; four nephews; a niece; two great nephews; and a great niece.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Mary Lou Winningham, Byrdstown; two step-sons, H.H. Mitchell and L.B. Mitchell, both of Byrdstown; seven nieces, Juanita Stinson, Marriann Riley, Sue Burtram, and Rita Slaven, all of Pall Mall, Carol Dean Cope, Byrdstown, and Kay Gillespie, Anderson, IN; three nephews, J.C. Upchurch and Bill Davidson, both of Pall Mall, and Jerry Davidson, Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Clarice Pryor, Byrdstown; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

Pallbearers were Barry Smith, Jeff Rich, Nick Rich, Bernie Copeland, Tim Martin, and Tony Stinson.

Tina Earnesteen (Langford) Ramsey
Funeral services for Mrs. Tina Earnesteen (Langford) Ramsey, 96, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, from Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmie Cox officiating. Burial was in Hunter Cove cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ramsey died Monday, Nov. 26 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Born January 5, 1905, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Palo and Adella (Hunter) Langford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ramsey; and four brothers, Benny Chat Langford, Elbert Langford, Vadus Langford, and Minice Langford.

Survivors include a daughter, Annie Lois Reeder, Livingston; a son, Caston Ramsey, Livingston; a brother, Delton Langford, Allons; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Ramsey, Steve Seber, Milburn Taylor, Ralph Carr, Kevin Reeder, and Bobby Lawson.

Joe Haskell Holt
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Haskell Holt, 93, of Byrdstown, were conducted Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown with Jeff Brown officiating. Burial was in Amonett cemetery in Pickett County with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Holt died Thursday, Nov. 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and a retired sawmill operator.

Born August 15, 1908, in Pickett County, he was the son the late John and Dosha (Jolley) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Ona May Holt; a son, Johnny Leon Holt; a granddaughter, Teresa Johnson Bowman; and a son-in-law, Bennie Johnson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Elizabeth Holt, Livingston; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Juanita and Raymond Moody and Marylyn Johnson, all of Livingston, and Oleta and Gayle Barber and Ruby and Ray Huddleston, all of Byrdstown; a sister, Myrtie Cross, Albany, KY; a brother, Hershel Holt, Albany; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers were Steve Moody, Jared Barber, Dwight Johnson, David Holt, Tim Huddleston, and Joseph Huddleston.

Cecil Dalton Melton
Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Dalton Melton, 68, of the Muddy Pond Community, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Robert Wright, Rev. Herbert Hollars, and Rev. Glenn Murphy officiating. Burial was in Wilson cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Melton died Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a retired factory worker, having worked for Nichols and File, Indiana Glass in Indiana, and Bennett's in Cookeville.

Born March 27, 1933, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Sherman Melton and Martha Hollars Melton Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Garrett and Lucille Clark; and two brothers, Dewey Melton and Jesse Melton.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Darryl Miller, Muddy Pond Community; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Linda Melton, Muddy Pond Community; two sisters, Pearl Beaty, Monterey, and Willma Braddcocks, Crossville; and three brothers, Carl Melton, Cookeville, and Haskell Melton and Earl Melton, both of Monterey.

Joe Pat Qualls
F uneral services for Mr. Joe Pat Qualls, 71, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Livingston, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2000, at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. Woodfin Memorial Chapel of Murfreesboro was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Qualls, a retired regional director for Financial Institution Services, Inc. in Nashville, died Sunday, October 1, 2000, at his home.

Born in Livingston, he was the son of the late Milton James and Lula Myrtle Myers Qualls.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carson Qualls, Murfreesboro; two daughters, Elizabeth Kelmin Tyma, Coltsneck, NJ, and Patricia Godbey Qualls-Hoag, Belleair, FL; two brothers, Myers Qualls, Columbus, GA, and Charles Qualls, Livingston; a sister, Sarah Williamson, Livingston; a sister-in-law, Frankie B. Qualls, Athens; and a grandchild, Andrew Tyma.

John David Allred
Funeral services for Mr. John David Allred, 74, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000, from the chapel of Madison Funeral Home of Madison with Dr. Frank Bruce and Dr. Larry McCauley officiating. Burial was in Bowles cemetery in Bowlestown with Madison Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Allred died Sunday, October 1, 2000. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy A. Allred; three brothers, Oscar Allred, Ophelas Allred, and Delmer Allred; and two sisters, Alpha Dosseos and Ollie Allred.

Survivors include his wife, Ava Rich Allred; two sons, Thomas J. Allred and Steven L. Allred; a brother, Clinton Allred; two sisters, Vechel Poletis and Grady Harrison; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were friends of the family. Serving as honorary pallbearers were retirees of Pirelli-Armstrong Tires and employees of T and B Sales.

Patsy Holman
Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy Holman, 52, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. David Singleton officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Holman, a housewife, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born April 4, 1948, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Betty Bowling of Livingston.

She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church of Livingston.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Doug Holman Sr., Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Dorsey and Paulette Fyffe, Tucson, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Will Fowler, Summerville, SC; four step-children, James Lee Dahle, Bill Dahle, Doug Holman Jr., and Carla Gardner; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janie Williams, Ohio, and Michelle and Butch Lee, Livingston; two grandchildren, Drew and Gracie Fowler; and two special friends, Billy Garrett and Wilma Maynord.

Pallbearers were Duran Lewis, Dennis Holman, Mark Peek, Michael Peek, Kelly Paul, and Lonnie Holman. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Billy Garrett, Jack Lutzweit, Jim Densmore, Johnny Peek, Gary Long, Randy Long, and Lonnie Holman.

Reba Mae Abbott
Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Mae Abbott, 71, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Taylor officiating. Burial was in Miller cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Abbott, a housewife, died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 21, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Emma (Franklin) Breeding. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Abbott; a son, Michael Abbott; and a grandson, Scott Smith.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Abbott and Billy Abbott, both of Celina, Randall Abbott, Nashville, and Curtis Abbott, Livingston; two daughters, Geraldine Smith, Hilham, and Earline Rush, Portage, MI; two brothers, Junior Breeding, Livingston, and Carlos Breeding, Monroe; two sisters, Mona Lee and Olene Edmonds, both of Livingston; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

James Garfeild Flowers
Funeral services for Mr. James Garfield Flowers, 93, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home of Byrdstown with Father Larry Gelthaus officiating. Burial was in the Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle, IN, with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Flowers, a retired farmer and Indiana state employee, died Friday, September 29, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born March 12, 1907, in Overton County, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Neal Flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Goldsmith Flowers; a son, Raymond Flowers; and three grandsons.

Survivors include four sons, David Flowers, Byrdstown, Gary Flowers, Mt. Comfort, IN, Dale Flowers, West Springfield, MA, and Ed Flowers, Scottsville, KY; five daughters, Daisy King, Byrdstown, Rose Wyatt, Cookeville, Lily Clark, Morristown, IN, Violet Grimes, Prospect, OR, and Linda Iris Jackson, Greensfork, IN; a sister, Lena Neal, New Castle, IN; 34 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Nova G. (Smith) Martin
Funeral services for Mrs. Nova G. (Smith) Martin, 80, of Allons, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. A.J. Cox officiating. Burial was in the Hunter Cove cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Martin, a housewife, died Saturday, October 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born November 24, 1919, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Eliza (Lee) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Virgil Bilbrey, and two half-sisters, Thena Bilbrey and Rosa Andrews. She was affiliated with the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Allons.

Survivors include her husband, Lyle Martin, Allons; an adopted daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Rod Hall; a granddaughter and her husband, Rhonda and David Smith; a grandson and his wife, Ronald C. Hall Jr. and Amy Hall; three grandchildren, Terra Smith, Rodney Smith, and Hannah Hall; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers were Adam Seber, Roy Lee Seber, Franklin D. "Peck" Smith, David Smith, Rodney Smith, and Ronald Hall Jr.

Robert Lee Richardson
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" Richardson, 75, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2000, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home of Cookeville with Bro. Mark Loftis officiating. Burial was in Netherland cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Richardson, a retired T.D.O.T heavy equipment operator, died Saturday, October 28, 2000, at his home.

Born December 26, 1924, in Allons, he was the son of Lola Belle (Mainord) Richardson of Cookeville and the late Jimmy Lee Richardson.

He was a member of the Netherland Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Etheleen (Ogletree) Richardson, Cookeville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Leah Richardson, Statesboro, GA, and Timothy L. and Kim Richardson, Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Mainord and Norma Richardson, Cookeville; a granddaughter, Brandi Nicole Richardson; a grandson, Chadwick Lee Richardson; a nephew, Phillip R. Richardson, Knoxville; and a niece, Patricia C. Stamps, Crossville.
