Helen (Eldridge) McCauley
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen (Eldridge) McCauley, 64, of Clinton Township, MI, and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, from Livingston church of Christ with Bro. Alan Frasier and Bro. Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. McCauley died Sunday, Sept. 8 at St. Joseph Hospital in Clinton Township. She was the office manager of a tool and die company and affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Born September 11, 1937, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edith (Christian) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dean Warden, and a brother Fowler Eldridge.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Tracie McCauley, Clinton Township; two brothers, Harold Eldridge, Livingston, and Ernest Eldridge, Alpine; four sisters, Pearl Elrod, Clarksville, and Ruth Copeland, Irene Brown, and Myrtle Allred, all of Livingston; two grandchildren, Kyle McCauley and Kaitlyn McCauley; and former husband, Edward McCauley, Waterford, MI.
Pallbearers were Shannon Eldridge, Doug Eldridge, Lance Ruble, Shane Mosley, Butch Brown, and Bob Copeland.

JACKIE LYNN BREEDING
Funeral services for Mr. Jackie Lynn Breeding, 44, of Monroe, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Booher cemetery with Bro. Paul Stringer officiating.
Mr. Breeding died Saturday, Nov. 16 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker.
Born January 28, 1958, in Overton County, he was the son of Carlos and Thelma (Huckeby) Breeding of Monroe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Breeding.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include four sisters, Shirley Bullocks of Rickman, and Maria Staggs, Patti Bunger, and Stacy Long, all of Livingston; four brothers, Michael Breeding and Timmy Breeding, both of Monroe, Bobby Breeding of Knoxville, and Gregory Breeding of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were W.B. Melton, Richard Sebers, Helton Robbins, Eddie Balajadia, Darrell Beason, David Bell, and Joe Bohorfoush.
ESTELLA TUCKER CARDWELL
Funeral services for Mrs. Estella Tucker Cardwell, 80, of Pikeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, from the chapel of Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Inc. in Pikeville. Burial was in Pikeville cemetery.
Mrs. Cardwell died Friday, Nov. 22. She was a member of Sampson Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert McGuire and George Tucker; and a daughter, Alice Currier.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Cardwell; two daughters, Mattie Cadle of Pikeville and Raymond Bouldin of McMinnville; two sons, Powell McGuire of Spencer and Robert McGuire of Rickman; 12 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
ODIS CLAYTON "ODIE" COOPER
Funeral services for Mr. Odis Clayton "Odie" Cooper, 88, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Nolan Cantrell and Rev. Alvin Copeland officiating.
Mr. Cooper died Sunday, Nov. 17 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and school bus driver. He attended Oak Dale Baptist Church and was a member of Bolestown Baptist Church.
Born July 5, 1914, in Pickett County, he was the son of the late Joe and Leann (Huddleston) Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Cassie Cooper of Alpine; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Doris Cooper of Alpine; and a granddaughter, Amy Cooper of Alpine. Pallbearers were Short Cooper, Roy Cooper, Joe Cooper, Don Cooper, Ronald Cooper, and Mike Boswell.
WILLIAM HAROLD "CORKY" DONALDSON
Funeral services for Mr. William Harold "Corky" Donaldson, 73, of Celina, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home in Celina. Burial was in Fitzgerald cemetery with Bill Threet officiating.
Mr. Donaldson died Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was an insurance agent and a member of the Church of Christ.
Born February 21, 1929, in Celina, he was the son of the late Robert Lester and Willie Grace (Elam) Donaldson.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo (Henson) Donaldson of Celina; a daughter, Ann Oakley of Cookeville; a sister, Robbie Dowell of Celina; and three grandchildren.
IDA (NORRIS) GUNTER GARRETT
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida (Norris) Gunter Garrett, 81, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial was in Copeland cemetery with Bro. Darrek Copeland and Bro. Eugene McCowan officiating.
Mrs. Garrett died Monday, Nov. 18 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Livingston.
Born April 18, 1921, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Granville and Ollie Minnie (Winningham) Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Gunter; her second husband, Jim Garrett; four brothers, R.L. Norris, Cecil Norris, Earnest Norris, and Marshell Norris; and two sisters, Mary Lee Linder and Delphia Linder.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Ralph Ramsey of Livingston; three sisters, Myrtie Franklin of Alpine, Effie Linder of Livingston, and Martha Rains of Crossville; a granddaughter, Lisa Gail Ramsey; and nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Pallbearers were Ed Linder, Harold Upchurch, Paul McDonald, L.B. Linder, Willie Qualls, and Tim Norris.
RAY LEDFORD
Funeral services for Mr. Ray Ledford, 92, of Crossville, and formerly of Overton County, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery in Alpine with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating. Mr. Ledford died Sunday, Nov. 24 at his home. He was a forester and of the Baptist faith.
Born May 10, 1910, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Rebecca (Ledbetter) Ledford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah (Newberry) Ledford; four brothers, Bob Ledford, Arthur Ledford, Connie Ledford, and J.T. Ledford; and a sister, Lena McDonald.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle and Maxine Ledford of Crossville and Carlos and Mary Ledford of Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Nella and Floyd Bilbrey of Crossville; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ledford, Brian Ledford, Blake Magnuson, Darrell Bilbrey, David Bilbrey, and Michael Langley.
REV. JOHN DEMPSY NORRIS
Funeral services for Rev. John Dempsy Norris, 82, of Cookeville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Cookeville with Dr. Harold Hunter and Bro. Harlon Johnson officiating.
Rev. Norris died Friday, Nov. 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a minister for more than 48 years and a carpenter. He conducted the Christian Gospel Hour on WHUB Radio for more than 20 years.
Born December 18, 1919, in Algood, he was the son of the late Lowery D. and Scytha (Stockton) Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Moore; a sister, Katie Law; and two brothers, Dennis Norris and Carl Norris.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ethel (Sullivan) Norris of Cookeville; a daughter, Virginia Moore of Cookeville; two sisters, Juanita Norris of Algood and Zella Hunsicker of Hazel Park, MI; a grandson and his wife, Jeff and Cindy Moore of Cookeville; a great granddaughter, Tiffany Moore of Cookeville; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
KARL WOODROW SELLS
Funeral services for Mr. Karl Woodrow Sells, 56, of Cookeville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial was in St. John cemetery in Clay County with Bro. Buddy Reeder and Ken Collins officiating.
Mr. Sells died Monday, Nov. 18 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was employed with Fleetguard in Cookeville and a member of Fairview Church of Christ. He also served in the Tennessee National Guard for six years.
Born March 13, 1946, in Davidson County, he was the son of Claudine (Ledbetter) Sells of Cookeville and the late Woodrow Sells. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Sells.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Johnny Clark and Kathy and Glen Wilmoth, all of Cookeville; a niece, Rhonda Wright; and two nephews, Randy Clark and Barry Wilmoth.
Pallbearers were Barry Wilmoth, Randy Clark, Ken Collins, Darren Wright, J.R. Lewis, and Kenny Hunter.
LEOLA (HUDDLESTON) SELLS
Funeral services for Mrs. Leola (Huddleston) Sells, wife of the late Lloyd H. Sells, 86, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, from First Baptist Church in Byrdstown. Burial was in Lovelady-Sims cemetery with Bro. Charles Gibbs and Bro. Ivan Raley officiating. Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Sells died Friday, Nov. 22 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a founding member of First Baptist Church in Byrdstown.
Born February 13, 1916, in Byrdstown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Oren and Vera (Groce) Huddleston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Delma H. Belew; two brothers, Earl M. Huddleston and Samuel Olen Huddleston; a sister-in-law, Enola Story; and her father-in-law, Wesley Sells.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Howard and Betty (Scott) Sells of Brentwood; her step-mother-in-law, Mary Sells of Byrdstown; a brother-in-law, Harris Sells and wife Charles Dean of Muncie, IN; a sister-in-law, Janelle Winningham and husband Carl of Muncie; two grandsons, Jack Huddleston Sells and wife Michele (Carter) Sells of Brentwood and Brooks Sells of Nashville; a granddaughter, Peggy O'Neal Sells of Brentwood; and two great grandsons, Carter Scott Sells and Jackson Lloyd Sells, both of Brentwood.
Pallbearers were Ben Crabtree and the deacons of First Baptist Church. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the lady choir members of First Baptist Church.
DOROTHY MAXINE (SPECK) CLARK
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Maxine (Speck) Clark, 80, of Columbia, and formerly of Clarksville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, from the chapel of Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home in Clarksville. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery in Clarksville.
Mrs. Clark died Tuesday, Nov. 19 at NHC of Columbia. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church of Rickman and affiliated with Brandon Chapel Freewill Baptist Church of Bumpus Mills.
Born November 30, 1921, in Rickman, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ima (Owens) Speck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Manuel Clark Jr.; two brothers, Willie Hugh Speck and Charles Ray Speck; and two sisters, Teola Ross and Mary Jane Stephens.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Clark) Albright of Columbia; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
ROY HUGH UPTON
Funeral services for Mr. Roy Hugh Upton, 85, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 of the VFW, was in Okolona cemetery with Rev. Donald Cobb officiating.
Mr. Upton died Friday, Nov. 22 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a retired school teacher, a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Livingston, a member of Overton County Retired Teachers, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Born February 12, 1917, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jim and Mertie (Neely) Upton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ruth (Bilbrey) Upton; a daughter, Aneva (Upton) Ward; three sisters, Ruth Bradford, Sarah McCulley, and Anna Eley; and a brother, Paul Upton.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Hugh Jr. "Sonny" and Rita Upton of Goodlettsville and Joe and Susan Upton of Livingston; a sister, Lois Haven of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, David, Nicole, Mary Ellen, Richard, and Stacy; and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Keith Bilbrey, Bobby Bilbrey, David Upton, Chester Ward, Richard Upton, and Keith Bellenfont.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Okolona cemetery and Church funds.
LARRY S. WALTHALL
Funeral services for Mr. Larry S. Walthall, 71, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in Monroe cemetery with Dr. David Moore and Rev. Dee Moore officiating.
Mr. Walthall died Thursday, Nov. 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a businessman, a member of First Christian Church in Livingston, a veteral of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and a member of the Rescue Squad, American Legion, and VFW.
Born July 7, 1931, in Overton County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Ora Lee (Davis) Walthall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita McDonald and Annie Wynne; and three brothers, Joe Walthall, Kent Walthall, and Pinky Walthall.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Jimmie" Walthall of Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Jackie Walthall of Livingston and Ken and Pat Walthall of Monroe; a daughter, Joan Thomas of Livingston; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Walthall of Monroe; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jack Windle, Perry Windle, Perry Young, Ralph Cross, A.A. "Spud' Parsons, and Jerry Windle.
