Dorothy Davis
Dorothy Davis, 75, of Mt. Juliet, TN, entered God’s eternal kingdom on Oct. 6, 2003.
She was a loving and faithful wife, mother and disciple, who served her Lord, her family and her friends with her singing voice, her arts and crafts, her acts of kindness and her spirit of adventure.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Rev. Floyd C. Davis, a former pastor of First United Methodist Church in Bluefield, VA; and one daughter of Cathy Davis Hardin.
Survivors: her remaining children, Rev. Mark C. Davis and wife, Jean, of Chattanooga, TN, Cynthia (Cindy) Reasor and husband, Jack, of Richmond, Carol Hearn and husband, Chip, of Mt. Juliet, John Davis of Lebanon, TN; sisters, Hazel Elwell of Milford, CT, Ruth Leach of Danbury, CT, Jean Clark and husband, Howard, of Trumbull, CT, Gladys Nastu of Milford; grandchildren, Michelle McNally and husband, Chris, of Tyngsboro, MA, Julia Costanza and husband, Corey, of Sonora, CA, Joshua Davis of Murfreesboro, TN, Annie Wengler and husband, Tom, of Chattanooga, Megan Reasor of Norfolk, Bryan Reasor of Richmond, Darci Davis of Lebanon, TN; great-grandchild, Allie Lord of Chattanooga; and several nephews and nieces.
The funeral was conducted Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bluefield, VA, with the Rev. Hugh Kilgore and Dr. Donald Scott officiating.
A graveside service followed at Hidden Valley cemetery, Little Creek, near Davis Chapel United Methodist Church.

Charles R. Dixon
Charles Roberttson Dixon, 77, of Kingsport, TN, died Jan. 17, 2004.
Born in Washington County, he had lived in Richlands, Lebanon and Abingdon.
He left Richlands High School during World War II to serve with the U.S. Army where he earned a Bronze Star for re-establishing allied communications behind enemy lines and he participated in the Nuremberg Trials.
After returning home to marry his third grade sweetheart, he graduated in 1950 from Emory & Henry with a B.A.
He worked on the construction of South Holston Dam and retired from Holston Defense Corporation after 35 years service.
He loved his family, photography and aviation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence M. and Carrie E. Dixon; one sister, Carrie D. Mason; one brother, C. Curtis Dixon; infant siblings; and his wife, Helen M. Dixon.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Charleen Gray Dixon Seale and Robert James Seale II; grandchildren, Robert James Seale III, Mary Ann Helen Seale, Pamela Charleen Seale, John Charles Seale and Jackson McKinley Seale; nephews, Curtis Shelburne Dixon and wife, Wendy, Christopher Charles Dixon; nieces, Patricia Wade and husband, Bob, Paula Morrow and husband Scott, and Virginia McGlothlin; and numerous cousins and family members.
Services were conducted Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport with Rev. Don Nation officiating.
Graveside services were conducted Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill.

Sandra Kay Smith
Sandra Kay Campbell Smith, 55, of Bristol, TN, formerly of Buchanan County, VA, died Apr. 24, 2006 in a Bristol, TN, hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1951 in Buchanan County, VA, she was a daughter of Gaynell Baldwin Campbell of Oakwood and the late Rolley Campbell.
She had lived in Buchanan County, moving to Bristol in 1989.
She was a 1969 graduate of Garden High School and was currently employed as a Material Handler with Exide.
She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sidney Guy Smith and Virginia T. Smith; two brothers-in-law, George Smith and Paul Bartram; maternal grandparents, Cleveland and Mae Osborne Baldwin; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Margie Meadows Campbell.
Survivors: husband of 37 years, Kelly Joe Smith; daughter, Sherry Smith Rhoton and husband, James, of Bristol, TN; sons, Jeffrey Smith and wife, Sitina, and Brian Smith and wife, Kristi, both of Bristol, VA; sisters, Freda Griffith and husband, Joe, and Kitty Griffith, all of Richlands; brothers, Wendell Buddy Campbell and wife, Teresa, of Honaker, Chris Campbell and wife, Tammy, of Oakwood; grandson, Evan Reed Smith; granddaughters, Hayley Smith, Josie Smith, Mollie Lowery-Smith, Sydney Rhoton, and Lauren Rhoton; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Apr. 27 in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Roy Yelton officiating.
Interment followed in Clinch Valley Memorial cemetery at Richlands.
Daniel “Danny” Lowe
Daniel “Danny” Matthew Lowe, 60, a resident of Bristol, TN, formerly of Richlands, died June 19, 2006 at his home.
He was the son of the late Ernest “Traveler” and Ina Hayes Lowe, both Tazewell County natives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Crinnie Steele, and one sister, Anna Ruth Lowe.
Survivors: son, Jonathan Lowe and wife, Lynn, of Cedar Bluff; daughter, Amy Austin and husband, Chris, of Norfolk; sisters, Omega Mitchell and husband, Ed, of Jewell Valley, Martha Lowe of Annandale, Margaret Cochran and husband, Wayne, of Bluefield, WV, Molly Swicegood and husband, Joey, of Fairfax; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted June 21 at 2 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with Rev. Jimmy Cole officiating.
Interment followed at Knob cemetery in Pea Patch.
Herbert E. Griffith
Herbert Eugene Griffith, 92, of Speedwell, TN, died Oct. 15, 2005 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Born Aug. 23, 1913 in Honaker, VA, he was a son of the late Marion and Georgia Ray Griffith.
He had lived in the Knoxville area since 1975 and was a member and deacon of the East LaFollette Baptist Church.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
He loved watching baseball games, fishing, and his family very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Griffith, Leonard Griffith, John Fay Griffith, and Dale Griffith, and one sister, Sue Miller.
Survivors: wife, Ann R. Griffith; son, Herbert E. Griffith, Jr. of Speedwell; daughter, Kathy Shaw and her fiancé, Chris Phillips, of LaFollette, TN; grandsons, Joshua Shaw and Blake Phillips; brother, Floyd Griffith of Swords Creek; sisters, Mildred Miller of Salisbury, MD, Juanita Bostic of Collawingo, DE, and Loanie Breedlove of Baltimore, MD.
The funeral will be conducted Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel in Honaker with Rev. Ralph Bostic and Rev. David Perkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Military graveside honors will be conducted by American Veterans Honor Guard Association of Richlands.
Beatrice S. Rone
Beatrice Sharp Rone, 86, of Pennington Gap, formerly of Richlands, VA died Oct. 9, 2003 at a Pennington Gap hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Mt. Pleasant, TN, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Pearl Cox Sharp, both Columbia, TN natives.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Richland's Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Levi Rone, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors: daughters, Sandra Manning and husband, Renfro, of Charlottesville, Beverly Elkins and husband, Omer, of Jonesville; sister, Mrs. Sam (Gladys) Napier of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Donna, Diane, Denise, Stephanie, Tracy, and Clark; and great-grandchildren, Corey, Connor, Parker, Jordan, Todd, Aidan, and Joey.
Graveside services were conducted Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill with Rev. Bill McDaniel officiating.
Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens.
