Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Bankston, age 73, of Old Huntsville Hwy., Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at her residence, were conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Stamps officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Bankston was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Leonard William Pitts & the late Ruth Matlock Pitts, a housewife, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, and enjoyed a love of flowers and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons: Billy Bankston & Wayne Bankston. Survivors include her husband: Robert Bankston; 2 daughters: Kathy & Crandell Bevers, Linda & Charles Norris; 2 sons: Bobby & Ann Bankston, Don & Kathy Bankston; Daughter-in-law: Judy Bankston all of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Charles Pitts of Flintville, TN, Wiley Hugh Pitts of McBurg, TN; 12 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bradford was a native of Franklin County, TN, daughter of the late Carmon Clinton & the late Lula Mae Bradford Clinton. Mr. Simmons was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of Maybelle Collins Simmons & the late Hugh Dane Simmons and a truck driver. Along with his father, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by 1 sister: Jean Holt & 1 brother: Joe Dennis Simmons. Survivors include 2 daughters: Ezeckiel Ann Simmons Bechtel of Arabia, GA, Maybelline Hargrove of Columbia, TN; 1 son: Timothy Dane Simmons of Osteen, FL; 1 sister-in-law: Margaret Simmons Thornton; 6 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Reed was a native of Minnesota, daughter of the late Adolph Herrlich & the late Amanda Wendt Herrlich, a housewife and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include 2 daughters: Marjorie Marie Ward of Huntsville, AL, Lucille Evelyn Jones of Otley, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband: Murphy Stewart in 1987, 1 daughter: Brenda Poarch, 2 sisters: Gertrude Arnold & Helen Branch; 2 brothers: Homer Clark, Alford Clark.
