R.W. was retired President and Chairman of the Board of City Finance Company and AIC Financial Services, Subsidiaries of Leucadia National Corporation in New York City where he began in 1954. He was President of the Vanderbilt Law Review and served on The Board of Directors with American Investment Bank in Salt Lake City, UT. he was a World War II Navy Veteran and former Elder of East Frayser Church of Christ. Alabama - Prattville Ann Madre Dorsey, age 89, died June 24th, 2005. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 28th, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 178 East Fourth Street, Prattville, Alabama. Mrs. Dorsey was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Taylor Dorsey. Mrs. Dorsey was born in Dresden, TN on February 22, 1916. She attended Queens College, in Charlotte, NC, and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. As a long-time resident of Memphis, TN, she was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. While in Birmingham, AL, she was a member of, and taught Sunday School at, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and was a member of The Club, Vestavia Country Club, and the Downtown Club. During her many years in Prattville, AL, she was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Prattville Service League, Prattville Country Club, S.A.P.S., and an active member of the Humane Society. Survivors; daughter, Donna Dorsey Davis and son-in-law, John Hugh Davis of Birmingham; son, Richard Madre Dorsey and daughter-in-law, Natalie Gentry Dorsey of Prattville; granddaughter, Kelley Page Allison and her husband Scott Montgomery Allison, and grandson, Taylor Madre Dorsey; two step-grandchildren, James Asbury Davis and Katherine Davis Savage; three great-granddaughters, Dorsey Ann Allison, Taylor Benson Allison, and Ansley Page Allison; and two step-great-granddaughters, Katherine Madison Savage and Claire Ruth Savage. Hugh F. "Chip" Carey, III, of Memphis, TN passed away suddenly, Friday morning, June 24, 2005 at the age of 53.
