Marvin A. 'Baba' Thomas, 45, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Memphis, died Feb. 26 in Pensacola. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He leaves a son, Marlon Thomas of Orangeburg, S.C.; his mother, Betty Barnett of Memphis, and four brothers, Edward Berry of Dallas, Michael Berry and Walker Currie, both of Memphis, and Gregory Berry of Seattle.

Mable Turner, 84, of Memphis, died Friday at Beverly Healthcare in Southaven. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Turner, the widow of Curtis E. Turner, leaves a daughter, Shirley Turner of Memphis; a son, Randall C. Turner of Southaven, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.

Brownsville -- Billy J. Byrd, 75, construction worker, died Friday at his home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Brownsville Funeral Home with burial in Union Grove cemetery. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Byrd, the husband of Martha Byrd, also leaves a daughter, Shelia Ann Forsythe, and two sons, Danny Ray Byrd and Roger Lynn Byrd, all of Brownsville; five sisters, Jennie Anderson of Crockett County, Shirley Doss of Providence, Mary Lou Burns and Betty Gail Beshears, both of Brownsville, and Helen Vines of Phoenix; a brother, Jesse Byrd of Brownsville, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.

Farrow of Pontiac, Mich., 37 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hollin, the wife of Jack Hollin, also leaves two daughters, Wanda Faye Hensley of Kingwood, Texas, and Kathie Sue Pena of Santa Fe, Texas; a son, Dewayne Hollin of Bryan, Texas; two sisters, Wilma Sharp of Santa Fe and Marie Willis of Milledgeville; a brother, Wilson Cash of Crump, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Oakland -- James Durham, 92, retired custodian, died Wednesday at Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville. He leaves two daughters, Estella Green of Memphis and Dorothy Durham of Los Angeles; a sister, Ora L. Ripley -- Susie Elizabeth Crowder, 82, retired from Universal Electric, died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garner Funeral Home with burial in Mary's Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Crowder, the widow of Leonard Crowder, leaves a daughter, Fannie Caldwell of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sons, Ed Louis Crowder and Leonard Crowder Jr., and a sister, Margie Garrett, all of Ripley, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Savannah -- Pauline Swift Prince, 78, retired machine operator for Brown Shoe Factory after 30 years, died Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Home with burial in Memory Gardens of Hardin County. She attended Trinity Methodist Church. Mrs. Prince, the widow of Harris L. Prince, leaves a daughter, Annette Howard of Michie, and two grandchildren.

She was a member of Somerville First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Fair, the widow of Norman Brooks Fair, leaves a daughter, Sarah Lou Fair Cooper of Holly Springs, and two grandchildren who helped care for her, Sydna Cooper Hurdle and Mark Cooper, and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Fair Theater Renovation Fund.
