Alma Williams Scott, 72, of Eagleville, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at her residence. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Marvin Henry and Arlene Burgess Williams. Mrs. Scott was a retired physical therapy assistant at NHC Murfreesboro. She was preceded in death by husband Thomas L. Scott, who died in 1997, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Demonbreun, who died this year.
She is survived by son Thomas L. Scott Jr., of Eagleville; grandchildren Jason Lee Scott, of Smyrna, and Jeania Elizabeth Scott, of Murfreesboro.

Ewing A. ‘Red’ Johnston, 85, of College Grove died Thursday, April 8, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Taimie Johnston, and his son, Ewing A. Johnston Jr. He is survived by his son, Harry (Carmine) Johnston; daughters Joyce (Howard) Jackson, June Jakes, Judith (Dave) Sulentic and Janice Mason; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Louie Johnston; and sister Ruth Norfleet.
Mr. Johnston was a former police officer with Metro-Davidson County and a member of Beacon Baptist Church.

Ann Lambert Maxwell, 71, of Murfreesboro, died Monday, April 5, 2004.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Mort and Mollie Holt Lambert.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J.A. Maxwell; sons James Kenneth Maxwell, of Summitville, and Tony Maxwell, of Rockvale; daughters Melissa Maxwell, of Murfreesboro, Barbara Trussell, of Estill Springs, and Diane Lokey, of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Maxwell was a member of Oaklands Baptist Church and a devoted wife and mother.

Frank G. Pickel, 61, of Smyrna, died Sunday, April 4, 2004.
A native of White Bead, Okla., he was the son of the late John Garvin and Hattie Lowball Pickel.
He is survived by wife Charlotte Pickel; sons Robert Pickel, of Murfreesboro, and William Pickel, of Smyrna; daughter Lisa Haynes, of Eagleville; sister Johnnie Frances Martin, of Jefferson City, Mo.; four stepsisters; one stepbrother; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Mr. Pickel was a retired truck driver.

Thelma Irene McClaran, 79, of Eagleville, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. McClaran was a native of Sallisaw, Okla., and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bessie Shields Wadley. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Eagleville Church of Christ.
She is survived by husband John W. McClaran, of Eagleville; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Griffin Wyatt, of Nashville; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law John S. (Johnny) and Suzanne McClaran, of Eagleville, and Jerry A. McClaran, of Franklin; sister Mrs. Bertha Gregory, of Roseburg, Ore.; grandchildren Cullen and Lauren Wyatt, of Nashville; stepgrandson Davey McClaran, of Chapel Hill; stepgreat-grandson John Riley McClaran, of Chapel Hill.

Hazel W. Demonbreun, age 79, of College Grove, TN died Friday, March 26, 2004 in Nashville.
Mrs. Demonbreun was a native of Williamson County and daughter of the late Marvin Henry and Arlene Elizabeth Burgess Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Loftin Demonbreun and an infant daughter, Barbara Jean Demonbreun.
She is survived by daughters Mrs. Kay Johnson, Mrs. Vicki Bentley and Mrs. Vanessa McMurray, all of Murfreesboro; one sister, Mrs. Alma Scott of Eagleville; and seven grandchildren
She was a former employee of Genesco, Inc. in Chapel Hill and attended College Grove United Methodist Church.

Gladys Carlton Luttrell, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at her home in Nashville.
A native of Eagleville, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Susie Morgan Carlton.
She is survived by husband Woodrow Luttrell; son and daughter-in-law Joe Luttrell and Wanda Webb, of Brentwood; daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Gayle Crowe, of Lafayette, Ind., and Patsy Luttrell, of Madison, Wis.; two grandchildren: Darren M. Crowe and Lauren Crowe Cunningham; one great-granddaughter: Claire Morgan Cunningham.
Mrs. Luttrell was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ and was a 1935 graduate of Eagleville High School. She earned her B.S. degree from MTSU in 1939. She was a 4-H Club agent in Giles County and a 20-year teacher in Illinois. From 1947 until 1949 her husband Woodrow Luttrell served as 4-H Club agent for the boys and later was Rutherford County Agricultural agent and assistant to the president of the Tennessee Farm Bureau in Columbia and a staff member of the American Farm Bureau in Chicago.
Johnnie B. Potter, 91, of Rockvale died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in Smyrna after an extended illness. Mrs. Potter was a native of Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Hessie Thomas and Lera Redmond Bennett. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Edward Potter.
Survivors include sister Polly Crowell of Rockvale, three nieces and one nephew.
Aline Bragg Willard, 80, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004.
A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Willard was the daughter of the late Adam Frank and Harriet Parker Bragg. She was a devoted homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiseman Willard, sons James Willard and Frank Willard and granddaughter Crystal Joy Willard.
Survivors include daughters Emogene Bellenfant of Murfreesboro, Pat Barkve of Tullahoma and Margie Robinson of Rockvale; sons Aubrey Willard of Murfreesboro, Sammie Willard of Smyrna and Wendell Willard of Rockvale; sister Pauline Stem; brother-in-law Truman Robinson; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Odie L. Anderson, 69, of Arrington died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at his residence.
Elder Anderson was a native of Williamson County and the leader of White Chapel and St. Peter Primitive Baptist churches.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Candis Anderson; children, Herbert Lee Anderson, Della Mai Anderson, Frank (Vickie) Anderson, Rodney (Mary) Anderson, Juanita (Mark) Anderson, Regina (Joe) Thompson, Odie N. (Renee), Angila Anderson and Edna Dobson; sister, Annie (Houston) Norris; brothers, the Rev. Edward (Sheila) Anderson, Jessie (Mary) Anderson, Wesley (Sue) Anderson and Richard (Ethel Mai) Anderson; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; devoted aunt, Annie Laura Lavender-Haley; play daughter, Janice Norris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jim Richard Anderson Sr., 66, of Murfreesboro, who died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Health Care Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. John R. Parton will officiate.
A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Roy C. and Ola Burnett Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonia Dean Anderson, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by son Jim Anderson of Eagleville, daughters Terrie Pitts of Bell Buckle and Sherrie Sadler of Murfreesboro, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a salesman for State Farm Insurance Co. and attended the Church of Christ.
