Ruby Mae Carter, 92, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, February 17, 2005.
A native of Manchester, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Tomlin Cornlison.
She is survived by daughters Christine Bandy, of Nashville, and Lucille (Robert) Thompson and Lucy (Roy) Underwood, both of Murfreesboro; son Grover (Dot) Carter Jr., of Camden; daughter-in-law Lela Carter, of Rockvale; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son James Carter and husband Grover Cleveland Carter. She was a member of New Zion Church of Christ and was a devoted wife and mother.

Grady H. Covington, 91, of Rutherford County died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Clayton officiating. Burial will be at Carlton cemetery.
A native of Rockvale, Mr. Covington was the son of the late Rosco and Lillie Wilson Covington. He was a member of the Rockvale Church of God and a graduate of Rockvale High School.
Survivors include sons Howard Covington of Woodbury, Billy Towns of Nashville and Barry Towns of Texas; daughters Lola Reneau of Westmoreland, Elaine Johnson of Charlotte and Brenda Etearnes of Kentucky; brother James Covington of Rockvale; sister Vera Covington of Rockvale; and 10 grandchildren.

Hollis T. "Bubba" Sanders, 75, of the Midland community, died Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
He was the son of the late James Thomas Sanders and Lillie Mai Knois Sanders. He was an Air Force veteran and served in Japan during the Korean War. He was formerly employed with Bedford Farmers Co-op, Uniroyal and was a farmer. He was a member of New Zion Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother: Milton Sanders.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Myla Jackson Sanders, of Midland; two sons: David (Betty) Sanders, of Shelbyville, and Hollis Eugene Sanders, of Rover; daughter Marilyn (Jeff) Curtis, of Shelbyville; brother J.W. Sanders, of Unionville; two sisters: Bonnie Mai Clardy, of Rover, and Shirley Whitaker, of El Bethel; seven grandchildren: Lori Stephens, Bing Sanders, Crystal Curtis, Josh Sanders, Daniel Curtis, Lara Sanders and Haley Curtis.
Valen Lee Cooper, 20, of Arrington, died Sunday morning, January 23, 2005, from injuries received in an auto accident.
A native of Williamson County, she was the daughter of Russell and Lori Ingham Cooper, of Arrington. In addition to her parents, she is survived by brother Karl Pittman, of Arrington; grandparents Alice and Burns Cooper, of Nashville, and Bob and Marcia Ingham, of Springfield; great-grandparents Mike and Sarah St. Charles, of Brentwood; aunt and uncle Jim and Mary Alice West; aunt Libby Campbell; great-aunt and uncle E.O. and Sharon Coggin; cousin Allister Campbell.
She was a member of the Christ Family Church and was a graduate of Page High School where she played varsity softball. She was awarded the MVP and best defensive player at Page High School and was all-district in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was voted Who's Who Among American High School Students. She was known for her smile and outgoing personality, and she touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
After graduation she was awarded a softball scholarship at Daytona Beach Community College.

Louise M. Dyer, 74, of Eagleville, died Friday, January 21, 2005, in Murfreesboro. She was a native of Bedford County, a homemaker and was retired from Georgia Boot Company in Chapel Hill. She attended the Kingdom Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Rover community of Bedford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simpson Dyer, who died in 1979, and by her father and mother: Macie Lee and Minnie Bert Carlton Manier.
She is survived by daughter Kay Mitchell, of the Midland community of Rutherford County; son Bert Carlton Dyer, of the Rover community of Bedford County; dearest friend and soul-mate Reed Wallace; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

John Marvin Beasley Sr., 79, of Eagleville died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.
A native of Eagleville, Mr. Beasley was the son of the late John Thomas and Betty Sue Morgan Beasley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, and a retired electrician.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Keele, who died in 1995; and a brother, Jim Beasley, who died in 1979.
Survivors include daughter Freda (Cliff) Ghee of College Grove; sons John (Sharon) Beasley Jr. of Manchester, Jerry (Donna) Beasley of Eagleville, Tommy (Mitzi) Beasley of Murfreesboro and Larry Beasley of Nashville; sisters Irene Lorance of Murfreesboro, Ruby Leverette of Rockvale and Estelle Beasley of the Rover community; brother Sammie Beasley of the Rover community; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

William Bryan "Jack" Smotherman, 91, of Eagleville died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Will D. and Luna Pearl Simmons Smotherman. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Valley Authority after 37 years of service and a life-long farmer.
Mr. Smotherman was married
to the late Mai Katherine Neal Smotherman who died in 1993. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Mitchell; and sisters Mary Alma Barnes and DeVera Covey.
Survivors include daughters Meredith Cunningham of Antioch, Nancy Whaley Bills (Buddy) of Chapel Hill, Margaret Smotherman of Eagleville and Molly Templeton (Randy) of Decatur, Alabama; son Jimmy Smotherman (Patti) of Eagleville; brother Clyde Smotherman of Rockvale; nine grandchilden; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dennis Arnold Smitty, age 46, of Murfreesboro, died at his residence Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was employed for many years with Southeastern Tire and Tire World.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Ethel Anderson Smitty; and a brother Sterling Toombs.
Survivors include his son M. A. Smitty of Eagleville; daughter Natalie Wooten of Shelbyville; brothers Gary Smitty, Eddy Smitty and Randy Smitty, all of Murfreesboro; sisters Vickie Gipson and Judy Watson both of Murfreesboro and Tammy O'Neal of Auburntown.

Paul Allen Bogle, 49, of Rockvale, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Evelyn Davenport Bogle and the late George Allen Bogle.
He is survived by his wife Karen Kay Bogle of Rockvale; son Stacey G. Bogle of Murfreesboro; daughter Heather Marie Bogle of Murfreesboro; step-daughters Amanda Mitchell, Samantha Mitchell and Ricki Mitchell; brothers Thomas C. Bogle, James Bogle and Roger Dale Bogle, all of Murfreesboro; sister Jean Campbell of Murfreesboro; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Franklin Jewel Bogle; and sister Sarah Pauline Bogle.
Mr. Bogle was employed with International Paper for 23 years.

Mamie Smith Bucy, 98, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, July 25, 2004.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Savannah Rutledge Smith.
She is survived by daughters Margaret Hayes, of Woodbury, Clara Irwin, of Lebanon, Ill., and Helen Harris, of Stockbridge, Ga.; sons Johnny Bucy, of Marietta, Ga., James Bucy, of Smyrna, L.G. Bucy, of Athens, Tn., and Charles Bucy, of Eagleville; sister Evelyn Barrett, of Eagleville; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Bucy was married
to the late Ogle Bucy, who died in 1978. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
