Jennie Johnson
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Jennie Johnson, 79, died Monday, March 1, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were incomplete at press time. Mercer Brothers Funeral Home in Jackson will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include five sons, Danny Johnson, James L. Johnson, Robert Johnson, Jimmy Johnson and W.C. Johnson, Jr., all of Smyrna; a sister, Willie Sue Gordon of Huntingdon, and a brother, Arthur Hampton of Huntingdon.
She was the widow of Rev. W.C. Johnson.
Addie Laurine Dunn
GLEASON - Services for Addie Laurine Dunn, 77, will be held at Gleason First Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m., with Gene Price officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery in Gleason.
Mrs. Dunn died Monday, September 10.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gleason. She was also a licensed cosmetician, business owner and a retired school teacher. She was a graduate of Bethel College and Past Worthy Matron of Easter Star. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Orr and Julia D. Rich, both of Gleason; two sisters, Katie Clark of Gleason and Ruby Cozart of McKenzie; a brother, Douglas Nanney of Henry; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, L. D. Miller and mother, Ila C. Miller Nanney; her stepfather, Bill Nanney; her sister, Mary Lee Blaylock; three brothers, Vorce Miller, Charles Nanney and Jamie Nanney and her husband, Archie Vernon Dunn.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Gleason.

Roland Benjamin Peterson
McKENZIE - Graveside services for Roland Benjamin "Pete" Peterson, 67, will be on Wednesday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Everetts Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Peterson, owner of Consultant Quality Control, died Sunday, September 9 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Deaton Peterson of McKenzie.

Gertrude Anderson
HUNTINGDON - Services for Gertrude Anderson were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with the Rev. Roscoe E. Myles, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Humble cemetery.
Ms. Anderson died Wednesday, September 19 at her home. She was born October 27, 1910 in Huntingdon to the late Charley and Mary McCloud Carter. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. Her husband Booker Anders, a sister, Devella Thompson and a brother Henry Carter preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sisters, Queen Ester Carter, Frances Trent, Mary N. Williamson, and Charlene E. Gause, all of Huntingdon and three nephews.

Mackey Brin Murray
BUCHANAN: Services for Mackey Brin Murray, 59, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25 at Jesus Saves Baptist church with Randy Miller, Teddy Hill and Mike Owens officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Murray, owner of Handcrafted Cabinets and former owner of M. B. Murray Roof Truss Company, died Saturday, September 22 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
He was born July 24, 1942 in Ridgely. He organized and has served as pastor of Jesus Saves Baptist Church for seventeen years.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Ann Ward Murray; his mother, Stella Estelle Murray Thurmond of Buchanan; two daughters, Linda J. Rogers of Buchanan and Sheila A. Miller of Springville; two sons, Michael B. Murray of St. Petersburg, Florida and Brinnen C. Murray of McKenzie; two sister, Cynthia D. Day of Memphis and Karen B. Rudd of Buchanan; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Elon Thurmond.

Rev. James Harold Grissom
GLEASON - Services for Rev. James Harold Grissom, 83, were Saturday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church with burial in Hopewell cemetery.
Rev. Grissom, a retired minister, died Wednesday, September 19 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of heart failure.

Rosemary Buckley Derrick
CEDAR GROVE - Funeral services for Rosemary Buckley Derrick, 50, were held Friday, September 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church in Cedar Grove with Elder Joe Lyons officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Derrick died Monday, September 17 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born October 2, 1950 in Cedar Grove to the late Johnnie D. Buckley and Clara Cogdell Derrick. She was a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1968, and attended T. S. U. as well as Mason's Business College in Nashville. She was recruiter/trainer with Southern Empowerment Project in Maryville. She was a member of the Mt. Ararat Primitive Baptist Church in Cedar Grove.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Derrick; four brothers, Paul Buckley and Samuel Buckley, both of Cedar Grove, Mark Buckley of Nashville, and Luke Buckley of Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.

Irene Leffler
McKENZIE - Memorial services for Irene Leffler, 85, were Sunday, September 23 at 4:30 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, McKenzie with the Rev. Larry Dailey officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn cemetery in Buffalo, New York.
Mrs. Leffler died September 21 at her residence.
She was born June 5, 1916 in Buffalo, New York to the late Amelia Davidson Fauth and Wilbur Fauth. She was a retired administrative assistant and a homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutherson in East Aurora, New York and attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
Surviving is a daughter, Deborah Aljancic of McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leffler; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Irma May Schall Williams
McKENZIE - Services for Irma May Schall Williams, 85, were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 23 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie with Rev. Anne Hames officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Williams, widow of Hershel Elbert Williams, died Thursday afternoon, September 20 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie.
She was born April 29, 1916 in Bluff Springs, Illinois. Her parents were the late Della R. Schall and Harry C. Schall. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Carroll of McKenzie; a sister, Della Cox of Virginia, Illinois and two grandchildren.
Russell A. Crider
SAGINAW, MICHIGAN: Services for Russell A. Crider, 78, were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7 at Truevine Missionary Baptist in Saginaw with the Rev. Paul E. Broaddus officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Crider died Thursday, August 30.
He was born April 13, 1923, in Huntingdon. He later moved to Paducah, Kentucky and graduated from Lincoln High School. He served his country from 1943 to 1946 playing the saxophone in the United States Army Band. He furthered his education in music by earning a degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and a master's degree from the University of Illinois. Mr. Crider was a high school band instructor at Webb School 1951-52. He later became an entrepreneur and teacher of computer programming in Chicago, Illinois. In 1998, he moved to Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of Truevine Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Coleman of Solon, Ohio; his stepfather, Rudolph Ragsdale of Paducah, Kentucky; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His mother, Avery Ragsdale and a sister, Lola Mae Hill preceded him in death.
Bob Horn
HENDERSON: Services for Bob Horn, 82, retired owner/operator of Horn Furniture Co. were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15 with Burial in Henderson City cemetery.
Mr. Horn died at his home on Thursday, September 13 of congestive heart failure.
He was a World War II army veteran, a 50-year member of Henderson First Baptist Church, a former member of Chester County Election Commission and Henderson Equalization Board, a Mason and a member of McKenzie Masonic Lodge 96. Mr. Horn, the widower of Sadie Sampson Horn, leaves a daughter, Nancy Ratliff of Milan; a sister, Ruth Cozart of McKenzie; a brother, Roy Horn of Paris; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Maude L. DeMoss
SARASOTA, FLORIDA - Mrs. Maude L. DeMoss, 94, died Thursday, September 20 at her home.
Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, September 23 at Bethel cemetery with Brother Phillip Halters officiating.
Mrs. DeMoss was born April 6, 1907 to the late Walter and Murray Carroll McAdoo in Huntingdon. She was a retired administrative assistant for the county government in Sarasota, Florida and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sarasota.

Doye Adell Simmons
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Doye Adell Simmons, 87, died Thursday, September 20 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 23 in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Martin Klamm officiating. Interment
followed at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Simmons was born May 4, 1914 to the late Goethe and Sophia Crider Laws in Carroll County. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albie Simmons, who died June 5, 1997; one brother, Homer Laws; and two sisters, Lusetta Laws and Irene Rogers.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Boyd of McKenzie; two sons, Gayford Simmons of McKenzie and Paul B. Simmons of Antioch; five brothers, Odell Laws of Nashville, Waldon Laws of Clarksburg, John Laws and Joe Laws, both of Chicago, Illinois and Wilburn Laws of Huntingdon; three sisters, Evola Thompson, Dorothy Sanders and Juanita McCord, all of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
