McKENZIE - Funeral services for Barbara Ann Crocker, 58, were at 2:00 p.m., October 11 at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Enon cemetery in McKenzie.
Ms. Crocker died Tuesday night, October 9 at the Methodist Hospital.
She was born September 7, 1943 in McKenzie to the late Lester Newbill Sydnor and Robert Clarence Sydnor. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Demetrius Van Crocker and Bobby Bernard Swaffor of McKenzie and Zachary Todd Crocker of Huntingdon; one brother, Gaylon Sydnor of McKenzie and two grandchildren.
Gertrude Hazelle Wilson
McLEMORESVILLE - Funeral services for Gertrude Hazelle Wilson, 83, were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 15 at the New Reedy Creek Baptist Church in McLemoresville. Burial was in Cedar Memorial cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Ms. Wilson, a retired sales clerk, died Thursday, October 11 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center of heart failure.
She was born November 27, 1917 in Carroll County to the late A. G. and Agnes Luter Greer. She graduated from Webb high School in McKenzie and was a member of New Reedy Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wilson and a brother, James A. Greer.
Survivors include two sons, Ray E. Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Bobbie Joe Wilson of Florissant, Missouri; a daughter, Melba J. Atkinson of Atlanta, Georgia; two stepsisters, Mary Slacks and Etta Mac Williams; a stepbrother, Lemola Williams; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lynn Wilkins
BRUCETON - Services for Lynn Wilkins, 86, were at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 12 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Wilkins, a pipe fitter for TVA, died Thursday, October 11 at Horizon Hospital in Dickson.
He was born October 17, 1914 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Santa and Olive Randle Wilkins. He was a member of D.T. Andrews Episcopal Church in New Johnsonville; a member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731 and Memphis Scottish Rite. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda Wilkins and a son, Larry Wilkins.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Holmes of Dickson; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Van Mathis

BRUCETON - Van Mathis, 83, died Sunday, February 12 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 14, at Prospect cemetery with Brother Roger Patton officiating. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mathis was born October 15, 1922, in Bruceton. He was a retired employee of the L&N Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Velma Glisson Mathis, and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia "Jinks" Hollowell

WESTPORT: Virginia "Jinks" Hollowell, 73, died Friday, February 10, at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 12, at Dilday Funeral Home East Room with Brother Johnny Boyd officiating. Interment
followed in the Jamison cemetery.
Ms. Hollowell was born June 17, 1932, in Westport, to the late Uly and Mannie Pritchard Hollowell. She was a homemaker and a member of Westport Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Brooksie Therrell of Westport; a niece; three great-nephews; and three great-great-nephews.
Pat Cole

McKENZIE - Patricia (Pat) Ann McGlockin Cole, age 62, died Thursday, February 9 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, at McKenzie Funeral Home, with Brother Dennis Trull officiating. Interment
was at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cole was born October 22, 1943, in Franklin, to C. E. (Flip) and Francis Youree McGlockin, both deceased. She worked as sports editor for The McKenzie Banner for 18 years. She was the valedictorian of her high school class in Florida and returned to McKenzie where she obtained her degree from Bethel College. She was a certified schoolteacher and taught briefly at McLemoresville before the West Carroll consolidation and substituted many years in the McKenzie school system. She managed and worked in the McKenzie Recreation Park concession stand during numerous summers. She also volunteered many years in the concession stand for the McKenzie High School Band.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Cole, and a brother, Tom McGlockin.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Cole, and a son, John Ed Cole, both of McKenzie.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life-Carroll North.
Sherman Aaron Wright

followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wright was born June 22, 1950, in Mississippi, to the late Eugene and Vera Ruth (McCormick) Wright. He was a retired conductor for CSX Railroad, a Vietnam Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge #106 in Huntingdon, Scottish rite degree, and was a member of the Eva Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Wright; one daughter, Brandy Floyd of Huntingdon; one son, Shane Wright of Huntingdon; four brothers, Billy Wright of Holladay, Shelby Wright of Branson, Missouri, Jimmy Wright of Huntingdon, and Jerry Wright of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
Elva Elizabeth O'Neill

Mrs. O'Neill was born September 8, 1919, in McLemoresville, to the late Lonnie and Ethel (Coleman) Traywick. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in McLemoresville.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie Traywick, Glen Traywick, Robert Traywick; two sisters, Mary Ruth Devault, Nita Mai Girard, and four half-sisters, Ethel King, Edna Dowdy, Ena Jones, and Blanche Hill.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Earl O'Neill; two daughters, Sallye (George) Aylor and Suzanne Conley, all of McLemoresville; one sister, Ann Beckman of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hessler was born April 25, 1920, in Crittenden County, Arkansas, to the late Annie Mitchell. She was a factory worker.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Hessler.
Elmer Ray Looney

DIMONDALE, MICHIGAN: Elmer Ray Looney, 85, died Tuesday, February 7. Funeral services were held Friday, February 10, at Lake Lansing Baptist Church in East Lansing, Michigan, with Pastor Robert Grimwood officiating. Estes-Leadley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Looney was born September 20, 1920, in McKenzie, to the late John Clinton and Ella Williams Looney. He served in the Civilian Conversation Corps from October 1936 until September 1938 and was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Lansing State Journal in 1985.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Albert Roe Looney; six sisters, Cecil Woodard, Mae Golden, Laverne "Pete" Cullimore, and Dorothy, Virginia, and Marcella Looney.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Maude "Betty" Looney; one son, Ken (JoAnn) Looney, one daughter, Karen (Bob) Borton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Looney; two sisters, Francis Hilliard and Lottie (Lloyd) Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.
Archie H. Scott

PARIS - Archie H. Scott, 92, died Tuesday, February 7, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 9, in the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Fred Shackleford, Jimmy Huffman, Jerry Massey and Lynn Paschall officiating. Burial followed in Palestine cemetery.
Mr. Scott was born October 26, 1913, in Paris, to Dave and Grace Graham Scott, both deceased. He was the oldest member of Springhill Baptist Church, joining August 9, 1930. He was a former student of VanDyke and Henry schools, retired from Henry County Monument Co., and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Earlene Cole and Merle Dunlap, and three brothers, Hollis Scott, Charlie Scott, and Douglas "Jack" Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Steele Scott; one daughter, Anne (Reed) Brewer; three sisters, Gladys Bell, Helen Crews, and Evelyn VanCleave, all of Paris; and one grandchild, David (Tracy) Brewer of Paris.
Brent Isaac McMackin

Mr. McMackin was born December 7, 1958, in Carroll County. He was a maintenance worker for Emerson Electric Company and a member of the Barren Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Junior McMackin, who died June 1, 2005.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce (Crutchfield) McMackin of Bruceton; one sister, Shirley Kimberly of Kansasville, Wisconsin; two brothers, Kenny Smothers of Hollow Rock and David McMackin of Zion, Illinois; a special niece, Haley Jackson; and several other nieces and nephews. He also had two special people in his life, Roy Richardson and Luanne Gately.
James Edgar Lindsey

SPRINGVILLE - James Edgar Lindsey, 77, died Sunday, February 5, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 11, at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Claude Smithmier, Fred Morris, and James Gilbert officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Lindsey was born November 14, 1928, in Gleason, to the late Wilburn Lee and Jessie Lavergne Parks Lindsey. He was a retired business manager and consultant for Proctor & Gamble Kimberly Clark, and was a former trustee of Bethel College. He was also a member of Gleason First United Methodist Church, and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Dean Bennett Lindsey; one son, Lawrence Lindsey of Pennington, New Jersey; one daughter, Leesa Lindsey Roberts of Littleton, Colorado; and two grandchildren.
