Richard Paul Morgan
Richard Paul Morgan, 42, of Gleason, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Jackson County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Morgan were held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel in Gleason. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was a tow boat captain. He was born December 4, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma (Davidson) Morgan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by a daughter, Victoria Morgan of Mayfield, Kentucky; his father, John Morgan; and four brothers, Doug Morgan of Gleason, Johnnie Morgan of Springville, Tennessee, Kenneth Morgan of Paris, and Bill Morgan of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Daniel Lewis Heltsley
HOHENWALD: Funeral services for Daniel Lewis Heltsley, 41, were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Interment
followed in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Cedar Grove.
Mr. Heltsley died Friday, January 22 at Lewis Ambulatory Care Center in Hohenwald of cancer
Mr. Heltsley was born February 25, 1957 in Chicago to Darrell Heltsley Sr. of Sticknes, Illinois and the late Patricia Young Heltsley.
He is survived by a daughter, Miranda Heltsley of Cedar Gove; a sister, Diana Patrick-Troxal of Morgantown, Indiana and a brother Darrell Heltsley, Jr. of Brooksfield, Illinois.
Robert Martin Harris
McKENZIE - Funeral services for Robert Martin Harris, 60, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Norwood officiating. Interment
will followe at Shiloh cemetery.
Mr. Harris, a store manager, died Sunday, January 24 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital of heart failure.
He was born February 6, 1938 in McKenzie to the late Charlie G. Harris and Cora Bell Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Nell Martin Harris of Milan; a daughter Suzanne Sanders of Bartlett and four sons, Robert Mark Harris of Cincinnati, Ohio, Timothy Eric Harris of Chicago, Matthew Wayne Harris of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Peter John Harris of Milan; three sisters, Janice Davis and Janet Marie, both of McKenzie and Betty Cawthon of Clarksburg and five brothers, Charles Harris, Johnny Harris and Clyde Harris of McKenzie, James Harris of Florida and Billy Harris of Plainfield, Illinois.
Nelle Haggard
CEDAR GROVE - Services for Nelle Ree Parker Haggard, 83, will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery near Lavinia.
Mrs. Haggard, a homemaker, died Monday, January 25, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon of heart failure.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman J. Haggard; three sons, Harold Haggard, Dwayne Haggard and Gerald Haggard; and a sister, Clara Hobbs. She is survived by a daughter, Doris Ann Pollock of Cedar Grove; and a sister, Maggie Ashcraft of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Jarrell T. “Slim” Hinson
NEW ALBANY, INDIANA: Jarrell T. “Slim” Hinson, 66, died Wednesday, January 13 at his home. Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16 at Kraft, Charlestown Road with interment
following at Kraft-Graceland Memorial.
He was a native of Perry County, the former owner of River City Security Co., a former employee of the old Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Co. in Louisville, Adams Veneer and Padgett Inc., and a member of State Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dera A Burk; sons Steve and Michael Hinson; daughters Kathy Stiles and Karen DeWilligen; his mother Hattie Hinson of McKenzie; brothers Clay Hinson of Jackson and Rowland Hinson of Huntingdon; a sister, Christine Lee of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Oma Jean Vaughn
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Oma Jean Vaughn, 70, died Thursday, January 21 at her home. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 24 at Dilday Funeral Home with Brother J. F. Dancer officiating. Interment
followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Vaughn, the daughter of the late Jonah and Euthie Flatt Dancer, was born December 17, 1928 in Stantonville. She was a member of the Church of Christ, served in the Army Nurses Corp. and was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Dorsey Vaughn, two stepdaughters, Darnella Jean Vaughn of Sturgis, Michigan and Brenda Sue Vaughn of Huntingdon; two sons, Dorsey Tommy Vaughn, Jr. of Paris and Jeffrey Alan Vaughn of East Tennessee; four brothers, J. F. Dancer of Adamsville, Alabama, Jamie Dancer of Washington, Illinois and Earl Dancer and Paul Dancer, both of Stantonville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Harrell W. Rogers, Sr.
BLYTHEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Mr. Harrell W. Rogers, Sr, 80, died Saturday, November 28 at the Missouri Rehabilitation Hospital in Mt Vernon, Missouri.
He was born February 14, 1918 in Dresden to the late Sidney Johnston and Bera Bell Ward Rogers. He had been an inspector at the Randall Co. Mr. Rogers was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Graveside services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Wedneday, December 2 in Sunset cemetery in Dresden.
Survivors included his wife, Novella (Chapman) Rogers of Blytheville; three sons, Harrell Rogers, Jr. of Paragould, Michael L. Rogers of Blytheville and Terry L. Rogers of Little Rock; a daughter, Bera Nicols of Springfield, Missouri, a stepson, James E. Perry of Anaheim, California, Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Novella Chapman Rogers
BLYTHEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Graveside services for Novella Chapman Rogers, 79, were Tuesday, January 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset cemetery in Dresden.
Mrs. Rogers, a homemaker, died Saturday, January 23 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Missouri.
She was born in Gleason and was the daughter of the late Willie Fayne and Dema Ann McDermott Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Rogers, Sr.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by four sons, Harrell Rogers, Jr., of Paragould, Arkansas, Terry L. Rogers of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael Rogers of Blytheville, Arkansas and James Edward Perry of Anaheim, California; a daughter, Bera Rogers Nicols of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Lillie Mae Kemp of McKenzie, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Evelyn Lemonds

Mrs. Lemonds, a retired employee of Milan Arsenal, died Friday, January 22 at Methodist Hospital in McKenzie of heart failure.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neuman Lemonds. She is survived by a son, Billy Curtis of McKenzie and a brother, Addie Kennon of Paris.
Laura Ruth Terry
McKENZIE - Services for Laura Ruth Terry, 29, were at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24 at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial was in Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie.
Mrs. Terry, a homemaker, died Wednesday, January 20 at Nashville Medical Center from an apparent suicide.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Terry of Nashville; her mother, Mary Hunter Ballard of Memphis; a daughter and three sons, Julia Brown, Jacob Brown, both of Nashville; Joshua Ballard, Jeremy Levin, both of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Melissa Terry and Sarah Terry, both of Indianapolis, Indiana and a brother, Tim Ballard of McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Ballard.
Zelma Hedgecock

She is survived by a sister and two brothers, Cora Frances Hedgecock of Huntingdon and Joe Hedgecock and Carl Hedgecock, both of McKenzie.

Mrs. Hughes, a homemaker, died Wednesday, January 20 at Milan General Hospital of complications from a stroke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Hughes. She is survived by two children, Robert Hughes and Danny Hughes , both of Lavinia.
Maggie Lois Freeman

Mrs. Freeman, a retired teacher, died Wednesday at McKenzie Health Care Center of heart failure.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Freeman. She is survived by three sons, Jerry Hearn and Joe Hearns, both of McKenzie and Randall Hearns of Lansing, Illinois.
Kenneth Miles McCaslin
LEXINGTON - Services for Kenneth Miles McCaslin, 62 were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23 at Reeds Chapel with Charles Thomason officiating. Burial followed in the Lexington cemetery.
Mr. McCaslin died Wednesday, January 20 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of cancer.
He was born and reared in Henderson County and was an employee of Dayco.
Surviviors include his wife of 41 years, Janet Seaton McCaslin; three children, Pamela McCaslin Sutton and David McCaslin of Memphis, Randall McCaslin of Lexington; his parents James and Mina McCaslin of Cedar Grove; one sister, Jane Clark of Cedar Grove; three grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
