ALTAMONT -- Blanche L. "Crickett" Doss, 87, died on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.
She was born in North Carolina on June 3, 1920, to Seaton and Ollie Workman Shipwash who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Doss; son, Rodger Doss; grandchildren, David Doss and Patrica Hodges, both of High Point, N.C.; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. CST Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial to follow in Fall Creek cemetery.

Woodrow Stevens
SHERWOOD -- Woodrow Stevens, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008.
He was an Army and Air Force WWII veteran, worked on the railroad and at TVA Widows Creek; was a member of VFW, IBEW Local 174 and Anderson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Macy Mae Gass Stevens; children, Carolyn (Carl) Cole, of Irving, Texas, Brenda (Roy) Summers, Gary (Jo-Ann) Stevens, Ronald Stevens, all of Sherwood; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Tommy (Bertha) Stevens, of Huntland, Tenn.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. CST Sunday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home.
Interment at Mountain View cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. CST today at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala.

Sarah Anderson
RINGGOLD -- Sarah Ruth Anderson, 82, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at a local health care facility.
Mrs. Anderson was a resident of the North Georgia area for the past 24 years after moving from South Florida.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Grady R. Anderson; and sons, Thomas Richard (Eileen) Anderson, of Niceville, Fla., and William David Anderson, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Sims officiating.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Bushnell National cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

ROSSVILLE -- Arlene G. Duffey 71, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in a local hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Tamp and Mae Peters Green. Mrs. Duffey was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. She had worked at Rossville High School for many years as a cafeteria lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Duffey Sr.; and a son, William Duffey.
Survivors are sons and daughters-in-laws Claude "Simon" Jr. and Patsy Duffey, Rossville, Robert and Katrina Duffey, Henagar, Ala.; daughters and sons-in-laws, Nancy (Gary) Haney, Linda (John) Hancock, all of Rossville; grandchildren, David and Dusty Stokes, Simon Duffey, Megan Hancock, Tonya Taylor, Rhonda Caskenette, Kerenza and Ashton Johnson.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Darey Kittle officiating.
Interment in Chattanooga National cemetery.
