DYER: Services for Janette Willis Tucker, 66, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20 at Karnes and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Springer officiating. Burial was in the Brock cemetery in Greenfield.
Mrs. Tucker, a homemaker, died on Tuesday, February 18 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Tucker; two sons, Steven Tucker and David Tucker, both of Dyer; five daughters, Janice Mealer, Glenda Guinn and Melinda White, all of Dyer, Regina Hughes of McKenzie and Jennifer Weaver of Trenton; two brothers, Lloyd Willis of Crystal City, Missouri and Robert Willis of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Louise Laird of Jackson, Mississippi, Hazel Willis of Chicago, Illinois and Mary Sue Sansford of Mooresville, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Frances Ray Newhouse

HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Francis Ray Newhouse, 77, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23 at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial was in the Marlboro cemetery in Vale.
Mr. Newhouse, a retired truck driver for Cassen Auto Transport died on Friday, February 22 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born on June 25, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Francis Albert Newhouse and Sarah Madeline West Newhouse. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He served in the 5th Armored Division in World War II, and was in the Hollow Rock VFW Post #4349 and Warren Kyle American Legion Post 175 in Hollow Rock.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Newhouse; a daughter, Sandra Brannon of Hollow Rock; a son, David Ray Newhouse of Hollow Rock; a sister, Bessie Mae Phillips of Bruceton; a brother, Ralph Newhouse of Bruceton; two half-brothers, John Green and Joe Green, both of Hollow Rock; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marilyn Noles Hickman
1935-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Marilyn Noles Hickman, 67, died on Wednesday, October 9 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Stapleton and Bro. Rufus Chandler officiating. Interment
followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hickman was born on July 26, 1935 in Carroll County to the late Robert and Leah Reynolds Noles. She was a unit secretary for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon and a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, John Hickman preceded her in death in December 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Fuzzell and Melissa Reed, both of Huntingdon; three sisters, Janice Tolman of Lakeland, Florida and Sue Moody and Mary Ezell, both of Huntingdon; one brother, Jack Noles of Oak Island, North Carolina and six grandchildren.
James Robert Williams
1922-2002
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: James Robert Williams, 80, died on Monday, October 7 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was born April 15, 1922, a son of the late Jesse and Hassie Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Zarnke Williams; a son, Donald Allen Williams and two grandsons; four brothers, Jesse L. Williams and Joe E. Williams of Arlington, Charles R. Williams of Royal, Pennsylvania and Jerry H. Williams of Southaven, Mississippi; four sisters, Martha Reed of Trezevant, Nelle Presson of Milan, Rachel Arrington of Bradford and Tommie J. Isenberg of Denton, Texas.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Graveside services were in California on October 10.
W.L. Wyatt

BRUCETON - Services for W.L. Wyatt, 56, were at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10 at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Vine officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Wyatt, a retired track foreman for L&N Railroad, died on Tuesday, October 8 at his home.
He was born on December 23, 1945 in Bruceton to the late Mr. Willard Cayce and Mrs. Lester Murl Elkins Wyatt.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Wyatt of Bruceton; a daughter, Crystal Bowman and a son, Zachory Wyatt, both of Bruceton; one sister, Shirley Bennett of Hollow Rock; one brother, Cayce Wyatt of Bruceton; three special grandchildren Haley Brooke Williams, Dalton Ray Williams and Cameron Kennedy and two very special people, Robert and Jennifer Williams and many special hunting and fishing buddies.
Jerry Lynn Williams

HUNTINGDON - Mr. Jerry Lynn Williams, 53, died on Monday, October 14 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Ellis, Bro. Rufus Chandler and Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Interment
will follow in Concord cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Oak Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home after 12:00 p.m., Tuesday.
Mr. Williams was born on April 28, 1949 in Benton County to Lucille Jordan Williams, who survives, and the late L.T. Williams. He was a bus mechanic for the Carroll County School bus shop for 24 years.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Williams; one daughter, Cathy Wyatt of Huntingdon; one son, Steven Williams of Hollow Rock; two sisters, Ann Dobson of Big Sandy, Sue Douglas of Wildersville; seven brothers, Robert Williams and Tim Williams of Hollow Rock; Donnie Williams of Buena Vista, Larry Williams, Darrell Williams, Joe Williams and Bill Williams, all of Huntingdon; two granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
Mable Inez Woodruff

GLEASON - Services for Mrs. Mable Inez Woodruff, 89, were Tuesday, June 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gallimore Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Boone officiating. Burial was in the New Hope cemetery.
Mrs. Woodruff, widow of Blaine Woodruff, died on Saturday, June 21 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on September 6, 1913 in Hollow Rock to the late Aaron and Irene Crews Hudson. She was a member of the Gleason Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Woodruff of Gleason.
Otis Bateman

McKENZIE - Funeral services for Otis Bateman, 89, were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 20 at Brummitt Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Cooley officiating. Burial was in the Trezevant cemetery. Mr. Bateman was a member of the Liberty Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Bateman died on Wednesday, June 18 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
Mr. Bateman was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia, a son, Billy, his first wife, Eva Mae and second wife Mary D. Bateman.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Diaz, Linda Faye Williams and Barbara Garner, a son, Truman Bateman; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, O'Grady Day and a brother, Oline Bateman.
Lottie Bratton

Mrs. Bratton was born on July 31, 1913 to the late Silas David Hampton and Vinny Hicks Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Newton Bratton and two brothers, Olive Cleo Lindsey and William Audrey Lindsey. She was a homemaker and an avid traveler who enjoyed a full and active life.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth J. and Bettie Bratton of Sacramento, California; two grandchildren, Virginia Elaine Bratton Edwards and Michael Alan Bratton; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Edwards, Erin Edwards, Kirk Bratton and Amber Bratton and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fry was born on September 16, 1913 in Carroll County to the late Uris and Ophelia Montgomery Woodard. She was a retired factory worker for Brown Shoe Company and a member of the Hickory Plains Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Taft Fry, second husband Wapco West and two sisters, Nell Gentry and Opal Howley.
Survivors include one daughter, Shelva Arnold of Nashville; one son, Travis Fry of Marion, South Carolina; two stepsons, Jimmy West of Troy and Ronald West of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Edith Rigsby of Portales, New Mexico, Lucille Fry of Milton-Freewater, Oregon and Johnnie B. Kelly of Cedar Grove; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Alfred Curtis 'A.C.' Hardy

McLEMORESVILLE - Mr. Alfred Curtis 'A.C.' Hardy, 82, died on Tuesday, June 17 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 19, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Cox officiating. Interment
followed in the Obion Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Hardy was born February 12, 1921 in Bemis to the late William Atkins and Grace Anna Garrett Hardy. He was a member of the VFW Post 1889 of Paris. He had retired from the Milan Arsenal as a boiler fireman and also retired from the United States Air Force after 24 years of active service. During his first six years of his military career, he was in the navy and was a World War II naval veteran. He was also preceded in death by his wife Nitta Hashimoto Hardy, who died January 4, 1995; one sister, Mary Carroll, two brothers, Kelly Hardy and Jim Hardy and one granddaughter, Rene Stone.
Survivors include one daughter, Grace Stone of McLemoresville; one son, William Hardy of McKenzie, three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Earl Wayne King

LAVINIA - Services for Earl Wayne King, 76, were at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with burial in the Hopewell cemetery.
Mr. King, a retired Milan Arsenal employee, died on Monday, June 16 at NHC Healthcare in Milan.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lavinia.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca King; two daughters, Wanda Lynn King Strickland of Senatobia, Mississippi and Kimberly King Tharp of Lavinia; three sons, Randall Wayne King of Dalton, Georgia, Donald Wayne King of Atwood, and Johnny Clyde King of Copperas Cove, Texas; one brother, Rev. Dearled King of Milan; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
Douglas Jay Smith

BRUCETON - Douglas Jay Smith, 52, died Sunday, January 16, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 17, at Dilday Funeral Home East Room. Interment
followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Jerry Woods officiated the services.
Mr. Smith was born November 28, 1953, in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Johonna Johnson Smith, and a sister, Linda Johnson.
He is survived by three sons, Jeff Smith, Nick Smith, and Andrew Smith, all of Bruceton; his father, John Smith; two sisters, Karen Jordan of Bruceton and Sue Moss of Lansing, Michigan; and six grandchildren.
