Thomas Harold Hunley
1927-2002
CEDAR GROVE - Mr. Thomas Harold Hunley, 75, died on Tuesday, November 19 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, November 21 at the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Crossno officiating. Interment icon followed in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Mr. Hunley was born on April 16, 1927 in Carroll County to the late James Dewey and Mae Carnell Hunley. He was a retired employee of Griffin and Powell Monument Works and a member of the Hickory Plains Church of Christ. Two sons, Stevie Walls and Mark Walls and two brothers, Cecil Hunley and Paul Hunley preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ludie Hunley; four daughters, Shirley Wilson of Huntingdon, Judy Cole and Patricia Hunley, both of Cedar Grove and Donna Moody of Lexington; four sons, Harold Hunley of Bruceton, James Hunley of Huntingdon, Tony Hunley of Clarksburg and Donnie Hunley of Camden; two sisters, Gladys Collins of Cedar Grove and Betty Denninson of Harts, Michigan; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Michael Dale Ellis
1955-2002
McKENZIE - Mr. Michael Dale Ellis, 47, died on Saturday, November 23 at the Methodist Hospital in McKenzie. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lynn Stapleton and Johnny Boyd officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery near Yuma.
Mr. Ellis was born November 13, 1955 in Carroll County. He was owner of Ellis Roofing Company, was a member of the Baptist Church, the Volunteer Crappie Club and Coon Hunters Association.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Kaye Ellis, his former wife, Ann Ellis; one daughter, Brandi Nicole Ellis of McKenzie; two stepsons, Kevin McMackin and Michael Paul McMackin, both of Bruceton; one stepdaughter, Stephanie Dawn McMackin of McKenzie; his parents, Roy Junior and Dorothy Horn Ellis of Yuma; two brothers, Darrell Ellis of Westport and David Ellis of New Johnsonville; one granddaughter; and six step-grandchildren.

Venara Rogers Ashby
1913-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Venara Rogers Ashby, 89, died on Saturday, November 23 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Ellis and Bro. William Fowler officiating. Interment icon followed in the Oak Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Ashby was born February 15, 1913 in Dollar to the late Clint and Lela Horn Rogers. She was a retired shirt presser for Publix Shirt Corporation and did volunteer work for the Life Care Center in Bruceton for 14 years after she retired. She also was a member of the Humbles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Aulie Ashby, who died on January 5, 1978; two brothers, Leslie Rogers and Onas Rogers and three sisters, Mae Ellis, Allie Higdon and Ruby Christian McKenzie also preceded her in death.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Claudie B. Davis
1928-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Claudie B. Davis, 74, died on Thursday, November 21 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 23 at 12:00 noon in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Martin and Bro. Darren Larkin officiating. Interment icon followed in the Oak Grove cemetery near Parsons.
Mr. Davis was born June 26, 1928 in Lexington to the late Will and Fannie Shackleford Davis. He was a retired captain of the Huntingdon Fire Department, a Korean army veteran, member of the First Assembly of God Church in McKenzie and a member of the Huntingdon Lodge #106 of F&AM, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He also helped to start the Carroll County Rescue Squad. Three brothers, Ethridge Davis, Fred Davis and Coy Davis also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Willodean Patterson Davis, who he married on November 1, 1953, two daughters, Sue Stockdale of Hollow Rock and Dorothy Lewis of Westport; one son, Jimmy Davis of Huntingdon; one sister, Estelle Scott of Lexington; one brother, Cleavie Davis of Huntingdon; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Lisa Ann Wilson
1968-2002
HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Lisa Ann Wilson, 34, died on Wednesday, November 20 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 22 in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Interment icon followed in the Jamison cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born April 22, 1968 in Carroll County. She was a certified nursing assistant and attended Oak Grove Congregational Methodist Church. Her father, William Hardy Hester preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey W. Wilson and her mother and stepfather, Kathy Lynn Rich and Randy B. Rich.

Clarence Tyler Boyd
1926-2003
BRUCETON - Mr. Clarence Tyler Boyd, 77, died on Saturday, February 1 at the Henry County Healthcare Center. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Mark Cardona officiating. Interment icon was in the Jamison cemetery.
Mr. Boyd was born January 11, 1926 in Westport to the late Hobart and Hattie Mae Brackens Boyd. He was a retired millwright of 37 years from the Chrysler Corporation, a World War II army infantry veteran, loved piloting airplanes, such as twin engine aircraft and being a skilled carpenter, traveling, farming and being an avid reader and storyteller. His wife, Betty Jo Boyd, who died on October 26, 1997, a son, Jeff Boyd, who died November 3, 1989 and two brothers, Lyndell Boyd and Alton Boyd, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Terri McKenzie of Paris, Glenda Melton of Huntingdon, Donna Riedel of MacCombe, Michigan, and Pam Fetko of Washington; four sons, Robert Boyd of Jackson, Gary Boyd of Romeo, Michigan, Timothy Boyd of Casco, Michigan and Barry Boyd of Louisville, Kentucky; five sisters, Alice Knuutila of Dollar, Sue Crossett of Buena Vista, Jo Helen Noel and Minnie Hollowell, both of Huntingdon and Jean Brewer of Camden; three brothers, Bendell Ray Boyd of Huntingdon and Leon Boyd and Wendell Boyd, both of Westport; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Marvin Wade Birdwell
1927-2003
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Marvin Wade Birdwell, 75, were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 3 at Bruceton Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial was in the Marlboro cemetery near Bruceton.
Mr. Birdwell, a mechanic with Metro Nashville Fire Department died on Sunday, February 2 at Life Care Center in Bruceton.
He was born October 18, 1927 in Buena Vista to the late Lucian and Estelle Wyatt Birdwell. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and an army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Birdwell of Hollow Rock; three sisters, Marie Johnson of Mississippi, Inez Rank of Zion, Illinois and Sue Staggs of Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, Wayne Birdwell and Ken Birdwell, both of Griffin, Georgia; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A son, Eddie Birdwell, preceded him in death.

Sam Howard Barnhart
1951-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Sam Howard Barnhart, 51, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2 at Brummitt Funeral Home, followed by Cremation.
Mr. Barnhart, a car dealer, died Thursday, January 30 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 15, 1951 in Paris to the late Lucille McElroy Barnhart and James Gardell Barnhart.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Barnhart of Paris and Leslie Barnhart of Gastonia, Texas; one daughter, Tammy Barnhart of McKenzie; three brothers, Joe Barnhart and Thomas Barnhart, both of McKenzie and Jessie Barnhart of Wisconsin; one sister, Wanda Faye Barnhart of Huntingdon and six grandchildren.

Callie Mae Williams Fitzgerald
1919-2003
McKENZIE - Services for Callie Mae Williams Fitzgerald, 83, were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4 at Johnson Temple Methodist Church with the Revs. Henry Cunningham and John Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Fitzgerald, former employee of Bethel College, died on Friday, January 31 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1919 in Brownsville to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Williams. She was a member of Johnson Temple Methodist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Earl Fitzgerald and James Fitzgerald, both of Memphis, Ernest Fitzgerald of Memphis, John Fitzgerald of Bangor, Maine and Jimmy Fitzgerald of Columbus, Georgia; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Her husband, James Fitzgerald, preceded her in death in September 1993.

Jeffrey Lynn Goodrum
1967-2003
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Jeffrey Lynn Goodwin, 35, died Wednesday, January 29 at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Hoots officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Independence cemetery.
Mr. Goodrum was born on September 12, 1967 in Huntingdon. He graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1985, worked as a production worker for Republic Builders in McKenzie, was a member of the Liberty Holiness Church of Promise, loved being a mechanic and in his spare time, doing artistic work. His paternal grandparents, William and Irene Warner Goodrum, maternal grandparents, Bedford and Oburlan Selph Anderson and his step-grandmother, Mrs. Clydie Anderson all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father and mother, Junior and Oretha Anderson Goodrum, one daughter, Linka Lynn Langley of McKenzie; two brothers, Joel Goodrum of Huntingdon and David Goodrum of McKenzie; one sister, Karen Mitchell of Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond Eureka Norwood
1921-2003
SOUTH FULTON: Mr. Raymond Eureka Norwood, 81, formerly of Huntingdon, died on Friday, January 31 at the Union City Manor and Rehab. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mitchell Rayburn officiating. Interment icon followed at Oak Grove cemetery.
Mr. Norwood was born on March 24, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Robert E. and Pearl Bond Norwood. He was a self-employed carpenter and an army veteran. His first wife, Opal Cable Norwood and his second wife, Louise Wolverton Norwood, one daughter, Carolyn Ann Norwood, two brothers, Paul Norwood and Norman Norwood and two sisters, Opal Jordan and Letha Norwood all preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Norwood Yates and one son, Ray Linwood Norwood, both of Union City; two brothers, Ralph Norwood and Wade Norwood, and one sister, Claudine Heath; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

SYLVIA ANN CLARK ELLIS
1945-2006
McKENZIE - Sylvia Ann Clark Ellis, 60, died Saturday, April 15, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, April 18, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Comer and Bro. Lane Scott officiating. Interment icon followed at Everett's Chapel cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Ellis was born August 20, 1945, in McKenzie, to the late W.C and Ethel Elinor Harris Clark. She was a retired cook and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Ellis.
Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Ellis and Charlotte Perry of Lexington, and Teresa (Ricky) Beadles of McKenzie; two sons, Lee (Peggy) Ellis of Huntingdon and Marty (Rachel) Ellis of Medina; one brother, Ricky (Teresa) Clark of McKenzie; and 11 grandchildren: Chase Jordan, Tyler La Pointe, Cory Ellis, Brittany Ellis, Blake Ellis, Laura Perry, Brandon Perry, Layne Ellis, Dawson Ellis, Kevin Walker, and Amanda Walker.

ANITA HUFFMAN
1914-2006
PADUCAH: Anita Huffman, 92, formerly of McKenzie, died Friday, April 14, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 18, at 3:00 p.m. in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Brummitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rev. Dennis Trull will officiate the service.
Mrs. Huffman born February 20, 1914, in Memphis, to William Emmett Newport and Ida Lee Richards Newport, both deceased.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Huffman. There are no listed survivors.
