DEBORAH KAY "DEBBIE" SANDERS
1952-2008
PARIS - Deborah Kay "Debbie" Sanders, 56, died Saturday, May 24, at her home. Funeral services were Monday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Steve Gallimore and Charles Timberlake officiating with the Nurse's Burial Rites following at the funeral home. Burial followed in Shiloh cemetery near McKenzie.
Mrs. Sanders was born May 23, 1952 in McKenzie to the late Richard and Katherine Bevill Thompson. She was a registered nurse at Henry County Medical Center, a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church in Paris and member of the THA Tennessee Hospital Association. She was the former Director of Nursing for three years at Pro Care Home Health and was the Director of Nursing for 11 years at Henry County Home Health; she was also key personnel in the starting and implementing of Hospice in Paris.
Survivors include: her husband, Nick Sanders of Paris; and one sister, Carolyn (Tommy) Patterson of McKenzie.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

HAZEL BROWN
1921-2008
HUNTINGDON - Hazel Brown, 87, died Friday, May 23, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Humphrey officiating. Burial followed in Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born January 30, 1921 to the late Earnest McEwen and Ethel May Melton Carey. She was a retired supervisor for Publix Shirt for 47 years and a member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ella Marie Staten of Florida; one son, Phillip Thomas Brown of Huntingdon; two sisters, Edna Stewart and Betty Woods, both of Huntingdon; two brothers, Kenneth McEwen of Indiana and Billy McEwen of Illinois; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

EVORA S. HOUSE
1916-2008
CEDAR GROVE - Evora S. House, 92, died Monday, June 23, at her residence. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, Trezevant with burial to follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens, McKenzie.
Mrs. House was born March 17, 1916 to the late Claude and Mittie Pesnell Scruggs. She was a retired cafeteria worker and a member of Carter Chapel Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hooper House; one daughter, Barbara House; two sons, Kenny House and Gary House; three sisters, Velma Hendrick, Florence House and Clara Williams; and three brothers, Carl Scruggs, Palmer Scruggs and Jammie Scruggs.
Survivors include: one daughter, Beverly (Mark) Gowan of Huntingdon; one son, Dennis House of Cedar Grove; three grandchildren, Chris House, Ian Gowan and Jon Marc Gowan; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday morning 10 a.m. until service time.

CODY ALLEN UPCHURCH
1994-2008
PURYEAR: Cody Allen Upchurch, 13, died Saturday, June 21. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Crockett Chapel cemetery in Lake County.
Mr. Upchurch was born August 28, 1994 in Murray, Kentucky. He was an eighth grader at Harrelson School, member of BSA Troup 226, member of the Harrelson Band and Hazel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry C. and Margie Kiddy.
Survivors include: his father, Thomas J. (Peggy) Upchurch of Puryear; his mother, Lisa Kiddy (John "Buddy") Bates of Ripley; one sister, Ashley Bates of Ripley; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Christine Upchurch of Gleason; aunts, uncles and cousins.

CHRISTINE E. MAYS
1927-2008
ATWOOD - Christine E. Mays, 80, died Monday, June 23, at NHC Healthcare in Milan. Funeral services are Thursday, June 26, at Bodkin Funeral Home with Mark Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Mays, a homemaker, was born September 25, 1927 in Carroll County to the late Gale Henry Essary and Thelma Frances Cox Essary. She was a member of the Atwood Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband, Joe Thomas Mays of Atwood; two daughters, Lisa (Dan) Ayers of Ramer and Karen (Bobby) Russell of Selmer; one brother, Gordon Essary of Jackson; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

JERRY WAYNE PRUETT
1953-2008
HUNTINGDON - Jerry Wayne Pruett, 55, died Sunday, July 13, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 15, at 3 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Morris officiating. Burial followed in New Crossroads cemetery.
Mr. Pruett was born March 18, 1953 in Huntingdon to the late Frank and Cluster Marie (Thomas) Pruett. He was a retired technician with Procter and Gamble Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Stinnett; and one brother, Bobby Pruett.
Survivors include: his wife of 32 years, Susan Pruett; two daughters, Michelle (Joe) Britt and Jeanne (Matt) Mann, both of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.

MARGARET L. HILLIARD
1918-2008
WESTPORT: Margaret L. Hilliard, 89, died Saturday, July 12, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Boyd. Burial followed in Jamison cemetery.
Mrs. Hilliard was born September 19, 1918 in Westport to the late Dr. C.T. Cox and Mabel (Bryant) Cox. She was a retired factory worker for the Henry I. Siegel Company and a member of the Westport Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband of 66 years, Joe P. Hilliard; one daughter, Amy Hilliard (friend Ray), and one son, Buddy (Peggy) Hilliard, both of Huntingdon; one brother, James Cox of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

RUTH GUNN ROBERTSON
1926-2008
McKENZIE - Ruth Gunn Robertson, 81, died Sunday, July 13, at her home. Funeral services are Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Robertson was born November 15, 1926 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late Labon Festus Gunn and Annie Lee Ada Preston Gunn. She was a retired LPN at McKenzie Regional Hospital, member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie, and lifelong member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: her husband, William "Bill" Robertson of McKenzie; one son, John Douglas (Cheryl) Tison of White House; one daughter, Sonja (Kenneth) Sides of Gaylord, Michigan; one sister, Irene Driver of Conyers, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Kenneth D. Sides II, Kevin James Sides, Zach Tison and Jennifer Tison.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

ANNIE MAY LEE
1903-2008
McKENZIE - Annie May Lee, 104, died Saturday, July 12, at NHC in Milan. Funeral services were Monday, July 14, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Aaron Holmes officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Lee was born December 17, 1903 to the late Dave Crossett and Nancy Browning Crossett. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Atwood. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett Lee; one son, Guy Lee; and one daughter, Mildred Lee.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rachel Ford of McKenzie; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

SHANEY CHRISTINE SCOTT
1969-2008
MILAN - Shaney Christine Scott, 39, died Wednesday, March 12, at her home. Memorial services were Monday, March 17, at 3 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Greenfield with Bro. Jimmy Ricketts officiating.
Mrs. Scott was born August 19, 1969 in Jackson. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Staggs; and two brothers, Ben Staggs and Mickey Staggs.
Survivors include: one son, Shaun (Felicia) Staggs; one daughter, China Staggs; her mother, Sharlette Duncan and stepfather, Joe Johnson, both of Atwood; three sisters, Judy (Dennis) Davis of Henderson, Lynn (Chris) Evans of Michie, and Joanie (Robbie) Carrington of Sharon; and one grandson.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HOLLY MCMILLAN WHITE
TREZEVANT - Holly McMillan White, 39, died Friday, March 14. Funeral services were Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina with Rev. Dale Denning officiating.
Mrs. White was a native of Medina and was a member of West Carroll Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Michael White of Trezevant; one daughter, Gabrielle Toone of Medina; one son, Thomas Toone of Medina; one stepson, Michael White, Jr. of Trezevant; her mother, Annie Epperson (Russell) Toone of Medina; her father, David (Georgia) McMillan of Gadsden; two brothers, Brian McMillan and Ross McMillan, both of Medina; maternal grandmother, Lorene Epperson of Medina; and paternal grandmother, Lowell Mitchell of Gadsden.

NELL GLYNN HOUSE SCRUGGS
1918-2008
ATWOOD - Nell Glynn House Scruggs, 89, died Friday, March 14, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were Monday, March 17, at 1 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Guinn Hodges officiating. Burial followed in Carters Chapel cemetery in Huntingdon.
Mrs. Scruggs was born July 19, 1918 in Carroll County to the late Jacob J. House and Mattie Mae Leach House. She was a homemaker and attended Christ Chapel Bible Church in Atwood. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Scruggs.
Survivors include: three sons, Garwin Scruggs of Huntingdon, Bobby Scruggs and Randy Scruggs, both of Atwood; four daughters, Pat Walsh of Memphis, Sarah Collott of Dawsonville, Georgia, Lynn Rodgers and Barbara Rimmer, both of Atwood; one brother, Lee House of Chicago, Illinois; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

MICHAEL "MIKE" SCARBROUGH
NASHVILLE - Michael "Mike" Scarbrough, 45, died Friday, March 14. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 18, at 10 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Mark Caruth officiating. Burial was at Seminary Church cemetery between McKenzie and Greenfield at 3 p.m.
Mr. Scarbrough was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Webb Bryant.
Survivors include: his father, Marshall (Margaret) Scarbrough; three sisters, Debi (Joe) Lowe, Lori (Chuck) Anderson and Angela (Chris) Mikolon; and his stepfather, James "Sonny" Bryant.

SETH HAROLD COZART, SR.
1924-2008
McKENZIE - Seth Harold Cozart, Sr., 83, died Sunday, March 17, at his home. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at the McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts and Bro. John Forgy officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Cozart was born December 3, 1924 in McKenzie to the late Hugh Dewitt and Jewel Mann Cozart. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the McKenzie Church of Christ serving as a Deacon. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John D. Cozart, L.H. Cozart, Paul Cozart, and Bobby Cozart; and two sisters, Florence Nell Barler and Kathleen Pinson.
Survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Ruby L. Nanney Cozart; one son, Seth H. (Glenda) Cozart, Jr. of Union City; three daughters, Janice (Richard) Ruffell, Barbara (Grant) Elinor and Janie (Darrell) Pinson, all of McKenzie; one brother, Tommie Cozart of Clarksville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the church and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
