MILAN - Graveside services for Rebecca Conway Peek, 81, formerly of Trezevant were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, in Trezevant cemetery with Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating.
Mrs. Peek, retired from Henry I. Siegel and ITT, died Sunday, April 3, at NHC Health Care Center in Milan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
She was born in Trezevant on July 13, 1923,to the late Robert Young Denton,Jr. and Kathryn C. Brooks Denton. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, L.J. Conway and Luther Peek; one brother, Charles Denton, and one sister, Elizabeth Jarrett.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Dan Conway of Humboldt; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Freida J. Smith
1917-2005
HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS: Graveside services for Freida J. Smith, 87, were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 4 at McAuley cemetery with Brother Gary Burk officiating.
She died Friday, April 1, at West Shores Apartments.
Survivors include one daughter, Precilla Baggio of Bloomingdale, Illinois.

Alice Fay Bush

PARIS - Services for Alice Fay Bush, 58, were conducted at LeDon Chapel, Ridgeway Funeral Home, at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, with Wayne Burton officiating. Interment
followed in the Carroll County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bush, a homemaker, died Sunday, April 3, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
She was born in Camden on November 20, 1946 to the late Perry T. Kee and Harriette Birdwell Kee.
Survivors include her husband, Hulon Bush; one daughter, Sherry Williams of Lockport, Illinois; one son, Perry A. Bush of Menasha, Wisconsin; four sisters, Betty Tenley of Mansfield, Treva Tayloe of Paris, and Doris DePriest and Jeanette Massey, both of Huntingdon; three brothers, Perry Kee, Jr. of Bruceton and Jimmy Kee and Charles Kee, both of Huntingdon; and four grandchildren.
Lurene Medlin Hudson

BRUCETON - Services for Lurene Medlin Hudson, 91, were conducted Saturday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bruceton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Whitworth officiating. Interment
followed at Post Oak cemetery near Camden.
Mrs. Hudson, a retired seamstress and former employee of HIS Co. Inc., died Wednesday, March 30, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born October 22, 1913, in Holladay to the late Leonard Herman Medlin, Sr. and Beulah Harrington Medlin. She was a member of the Bruceton United Methodist Church, Bruceton Order of the Eastern Star Adah Chapter #314, Ladies Auxiliary, and a charter member of the Bruceton Pitch Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leburn E. Hudson.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Wilkes of Huntingdon and Diane Munson of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Maudelle Jones of Camden; one brother, L.H. Medlin, Jr. of Camden; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Virginia Claire Edwards
1926-2005
McKENZIE - Virginia Claire Edwards, 79, died Sunday, October 30, at McKenzie Health Care Center after a short illness. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at First United Methodist Church in McKenzie, with Bro. Jim McGuire officiating. Interment
will follow in Shiloh cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born March 23, 1926, in Union City, to the late Billie and Winifred Summers Moss. She was alumni director at Bethel College for many years and was tirelessly devoted to the community. She was named Carroll Countian of the Year in 2005 in honor of her many years of volunteer service. At the time of her death, she was a decades-long member of the McKenzie Planning Commission, the Morning Glory Garden Club, Inglenook Book Club, V.F.W. Post 4939 Ladies Auxiliary, board of United Neighbors of McKenzie/Carroll County, and president of the Carroll Lake Country Club.
She is survived by three sons: Vincent H. Edwards of Norwalk, Connecticut; Benjamin F. "Ben" (Deanna) Howard III of Memphis; and William M. "Bill" Howard of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; a brother, Bill (JoAnn) Moss Jr. of St. Paris, Ohio; and a sister, Louise Moss Kirkland of Union City.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Benjamin F. Howard Jr. and Howard Ripley "Rip" Edwards.
Memorials may be sent to Bethel College or Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Samuel M. Jackson

GRAND LODGE, MICH.: Samuel M. Jackson, 64, died Sunday, October 30, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with burial to follow at Sandy Branch cemetery. Visitation will be at from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Alcy Davidson will officiate the service.
Mr. Jackson was born November 9, 1940 to the late Wilburn Jackson and Katherine Morris Jackson. Who survives and resides in Martin. He was a retired employee of Michigan State University and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Fifty-Plus Club, the Machinist Guild of Portland, Mich. He was also a wood carver.
He is survived by his wife, Laura D. Jackson of Grand Lodge, Mich.; one son, Jason (Staci) Jackson of Grand Lodge; one daughter, Sarah (Kelly) Davidson of Michigan; one sister, Angie (Jim) Moore of Trezevant; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Nell (Johnny Lee) Simpson.

Ervin B. Anderson

McKENZIE - Ervin B. Anderson, 74, died Saturday, October 29, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services were conducted October 31 in Brummitt Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Jo Nell Copeland and Bro. Keith Pence officiating. Interment
followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was born September 29, 1931, to the late Ewing and Shellie Anderson. He was a retired supervisor at Gaines Mfg Co., and a member of Community Grove Methodist Church in McKenzie.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Russell Anderson of McKenzie; one daughter, Susan McSavage of McLemoresville; one son, Joe Anderson of McKenzie; one brother, Glendale Ray Anderson of Puryear; and two grandchildren, Ashley McSavage and Blake Clark.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Anderson; three brothers: John Anderson, Ralph Anderson, and Wade Anderson; and five sisters: Flossie Snead, Jenny Arnold, Irene Bevel, Lucille Anderson and Katie Williams.
Robert William Corbett

BRUCETON - Robert William Corbett, 73, died Friday, October 28, at his residence. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Corbett was born February 4, 1932, in Binghamton, New York, to the late Robert and Margarite Barton Corbett. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Elks and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Harter Corbett of Bruceton; four daughters, Denise Robbins of Crystal River, Florida; Maresa Huske of Anchorage, Alaska; Bettina Crawford of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and Christine Swallow of Wood Dale, Illinois; two sisters, Carol Pedro of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, and Marilyn Kull of St. Petersburg, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dimple Green

HUNTINGDON - Dimple Green, 96, died Thursday, October 27, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services were conducted October 29 at Mt. Ararat cemetery in Trezevant with Rev. Troy Cox officiating.
Mrs. Green was born March 10, 1909 to the late Willie and Maggie Depriest. She was a retired self-employed domestic helper and a member of the Huntingdon Christian Fellowship Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Mrs. Regina Bigham.
She was preceded in death by one infant son and all her siblings.
Mary Cunningham Williams
1923-2005
HUNTINGDON - Mary Vandell Cunningham Williams, 82, died Thursday, October 27, at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 29, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment
followed in the McLemoresville cemetery. Rev. Dossie Wheatley and Dr. Paul Mullikin officiated the service.
Mrs. Williams was born January 17, 1923, in Henderson County, to the late Walter S. and Lannes Taylor Cunningham. She had retired at the age of 72 from the Health and Human Resources Department for the state of Tennessee. She was a member of the Huntingdon First United Methodist Church, Annie Maude Smith Circle Sunday School Class, and the Veterans Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Williams Jr., and a nephew, Van Cunningham.
She is survived by two nephews, two nieces, and five grand-nephews.
Barbara Jean Teffer

HOLLOW ROCK - Barbara Jean Teffer, 68, died Wednesday, October 26, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Graveside funeral services were conducted Saturday in the Mixie Baptist cemetery. Bro. Jim Volpe officiated the service. Mrs. Teffer was born July 18, 1937 in Los Angeles, California to the late Olen Oscar and Frances Elizabeth Hayes Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Camden. She was preceded in death by her husband T.J. Teffer, and two sisters, Sharon Price and Linda Johnson.
She is survived by two sons, Leroy Calvin of Bruceton and Douglas Calvin of Orange, California; one step-son, Russell Teffer of Jerome, Idaho; one sister, Linda Miller of New Mexico; and six grandchildren.

Charles Louis Howard

HUNTINGDON - Charles Louis Howard, 70, died Wednesday, October 26, at Jackson Madison County Hospital. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in McKenzie at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, following noon visitation. Bro. Leroy Taylor will officiate the service.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Alice J. Howard of Huntingdon; his father, Robert C. Howard of McKenzie; two sons, Charles A. (Stella) Howard and David L. (Gina) Howard of Nashville; three step sisters: Teresa Johnson, Roberta Taylor and Joanna Harris of McKenzie; six grandchildren: Andrea Howard of South Haven, Mississippi, Avery Howard of Huntingdon, Adrian (Heather) Howard of 29 Palms, California; Kevin, Keisha and Christopher Howard of Nashville; and three great-grandchildren: Skyler, Aniya and Kevon.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin D. Howard, and one sister, Mai Catherine Howard.
