BRUCETON - Services for Bernice D. Birdwell, 70, were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at Bruceton First Baptist Church with the Reverends Terry Bradshaw and Everett Martin officiating. Burial was in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Birdwell, a retired plumber and pipe fitter for TVA, died Tuesday, May 17, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1934, in Rutherford, to the late Garther Albert Birdwell and Ollie Ora Horn Birdwell. He was a member of the Bruceton First Baptist Church, Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731 and was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Park Birdwell; a daughter, Denice Webb of Milan; two sons, Garth Birdwell of Milan and Mark Birdwell of Jackson; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Teague. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Millie Phillips Brawner

GLEASON - Services for Millie Phillips Brawner, 80, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Brawner, a homemaker, died Thursday, May 19, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born September 12, 1924, in Gleason, to the late Lonnie and Hattie Trentham Phillips. She was a member of the Beech Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Brawner of Martin and Jerry Brawner of Milan; a daughter, Patsy Ezell of Gleason; a sister, Betty Babb of Martin; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Edith Ponder Garton
1917-2005
BRUCETON - Graveside services for Edith Ponder Hooper Garton, 87, were conducted Tuesday, May 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Martin Garton cemetery in Dresden.
Mrs. Garton died Friday, May 13, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
She was born December 29, 1917, in Jasper, Alabama, to the late James Dallas Hooper and Sibbie Adeline Jones Hooper. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bruceton Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rye Garton and one son, Kenneth Garton.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Sue Edwards of Centerville and Cheta Williams of Hollow Rock; three sons, Jim Garton of White Bluff, Julius Garton of Huntingdon, and Leon Garton of Bruceton; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn Elizabeth King

DRESDEN - Services for Carolyn Elizabeth King, 55, were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Martin with Father Joe Paolozzi officiating. Burial was in Antioch cemetery in Hornbeak.
Mrs. King, a factory worker, died Wednesday, May 11, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born July 16, 1949, in Hornbeak, to the late John and Clovie Hill Bennett. She was a member of the Navy Wives Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis O. King, Sr.; two sons, Lewis O. King, Jr. of Oahu, Hawaii, and Ronald King of Paris; three brothers, Thomas E. Bennett of Dresden, Jim David Bennett of Union City, and Robert Bennett of New Orleans, Louisiana; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Bennett and John W. Bennett.
Craig Maddox Ralls

HUNTINGDON - Craig Maddox Ralls, 54, died Thursday, May 19, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ralls was born August 13, 1950, in Jackson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelyn Maddox Ralls.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ryman and Patricia Ralls of Jackson; one son, Eric Ralls of Chattanooga; one daughter, Lori Ralls of Jackson; one brother, Christopher Ralls of Seymour; and two sisters, Jacquelyn Forcher of Irving, Texas, and Amelia Favier of Mobile, Alabama.

Billy Joe White

TREZEVANT - Billy Joe White, 70, died Thursday, September 29, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 1, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Latham officiating. Burial was in Howse cemetery.
Mr. White, a retired electronics engineer for ITT and owner of the Service Center, was born September 11, 1935, in Franklin, to the late Margie Hamm White and Troy White. He was a member of the Howse Baptist Church in Atwood.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Allen White; a daughter, Barbara Darcy of Valdosta, Georgia; a son, Billy Wayne White of Trezevant; a sister, Geraldine Taylor of Camden; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray White.
Myrtle Sexton Kee

McKENZIE - Myrtle Sexton Kee, 98, died Monday, October 3, at the home of her daughter. Services were conducted in the McKenzie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Pugh officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Sexton was born August 5, 1907, in McKenzie, to the late Isham and Elah Allen. She was a retired sewing machine operator and member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Sexton and A.K. Kee, and children, Betty Joyce Delany, James Douglas Sexton, and Billy Warren Sexton.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Morris and Alice Lindsley, both of McKenzie; a son, Dale Sexton of McKenzie; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Robert Stanley Barksdale
MEMPHIS - Robert Stanley Barksdale, 60, of Memphis, died October 3 at his residence. Memorial services were held October 6 in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Mr. Barksdale was a retired maintenance supervisor and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ardell Barksdale.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Gowan of Pulaski; two sons, Robert (Lisa) Morgan and Jerry (Trish) Morgan of Pulaski; three sisters, Judy Barksdale and Phyllis Russell of McKenzie and Brenda (Eddie) Wilson of Paris; six grandchildren and one niece of Memphis.
Laura Lyn Wilson

PARIS - Laura Lyn Wilson, 46, died of cancer Sunday, October 2, at Henry County Medical Center. A memorial service was held Wednesday, October 5, at East Wood Church of Christ, where she was a member. Roger Banks officiated. Cremation was scheduled.
Mrs. Wilson was born July 21, 1959, in Memphis, to Jimee Fife Eason of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas and the late Laura Ann Bryant Eason. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant and had attended nursing school for one year.
She is survived by her husband, Ross C. Wilson; one son, Dustin M. Wilson of Paris, and two brothers, Rusty A. (Susan) Eason of Atoka and Jim (Glenda) Eason of Memphis.
Garnette Lee Jordan Stagner

HOLLOW ROCK - Garnette Lee Jordan Stagner, 76, died at her home Tuesday, October 4. Services were conducted October 5 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial was in Swain Lake cemetery in Peoria, Illinois, with a memorial service at the grave site.
Mrs. Stagner was born September 23, 1929, in Benton County to Sigir Buron and Gurtrude Ficids Jordan; a retired partner in the Raylee Topper business in East Peoria, Illinois, a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hollow Rock, a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School leader, and an RSVP volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Odel Stagner; and one daughter, Barbara Nelta Heinz of Peoria.
She is survived by one daughter, Tresea Carey of Bruceton, five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Faith Baptist Church in Hollow Rock.
Dianne Pearson
HUNTINGDON - Dianne Pearson, 50, of Huntingdon, died Saturday, October 1, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 6, at Smyrna Baptist Church. Interment
followed in the Humbles cemetery. Rev. Ivy Jamison and Rev. Lonnie Parker officiated the service.
Mrs. Pearson is survived by her husband, Lender Pearson; two daughters, Lakesha and Dinesha, of Huntingdon; her mother, Luvenia Stewart; three brothers: Leroy, Jr. (Glora Dean), Lee Willie, and Anthony; five sisters: Gracie (Bobbie) Rivers, Julia Mae, Emlie (Billy Sr.) Richardson, Mary Ann; and Michelle; two uncles; three aunts; a guardian aunt, Willie Sue Gordon; and a special uncle Essiex Stewart. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fuller, a homemaker, died Friday, April 22, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
She was born July 15, 1935, in Paris, to the late Douglas Eli Winchester and Myrtle Blanche Buntin Winchester. She was a member of West Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons: Gary Fuller of Augusta, South Carolina, and Edward Fuller of Des Moines, Iowa; three daughters: Jackie Arnold of Gleason, Judith Hugueley of Seattle, Washington, and Constance Senter of Union City; three brothers: Robert Winchester of Milan, Jerry Winchester of Aurora, Illinois, and Paul Winchester of Davenport, Iowa; four sisters: Geneva Travis of Clarksville, Janice Beard of Iuka, Illinois, Betty Summer of Sikeston, Missouri, and Reba Parham of Gleason; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Fuller; a daughter, Robbie Riddick; and a brother, Gerald Winchester.
