GLEASON - Services for Neal Franklin Mayo, 77, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 20 at Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial was in New Valley cemetery.
Mr. Mayo, retired employee of Gleason Brick Company, died on Friday, June 18 at Hillview Nursing Home in Dresden.
He was born June 6, 1927 in Lexington to the late Alex B. and Eula Goff Mayo.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Neal Mayo of Dresden and Ricky Mayo of Union City; three daughters, Carol Clary of Cottage Grove, Barbara Edwards and Mary Ann Clement, both of Gleason; a brother, Hurley Mayo of Dresden; three sisters, Louise Barnett and Ledell Jordan, both of Gleason and Ruby Gray of Plant City, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bolton Mayo; a brother Alex B. Mayo, Jr. and two grandchildren.
Eunice Mae Moore

McKENZIE - Services for Eunice Mae Moore, 85, were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 20 at McKenzie Funeral Home with the Revs. Vance Rushing and Dennis Trull officiating. Burial was in Caledonia cemetery.
Mrs. Moore died on Friday, June 18 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
She was born March 11, 1919 in McEwen to the late Edna Nancy Hall Edwards and George Edwards. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Henry.
Survivors include two daughters, Martha Harris of Milan and Bobbie L. Mann of McKenzie; three sons, Richard Moore and Randy Moore, both of McKenzie and George Moore of Gleason; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Moore.
Kathleen June 'Cathy' Ownby Porter

McKENZIE - Private services for Kathleen June 'Cathy' Ownby Porter, 55, were held at Pisgah cemetery in Atwood with Rev. Norris Milton and John Smith, Sr. officiating. A memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paris First Assembly of God on Highway 641.
Mrs. Porter, a homemaker, died on Wednesday, June 9 at Henry County Medical Center.
She was born June 8, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Survivors include her parents, Alvin P. and Betty June Bogle Ownby of McKenzie; three sons, James Ray 'Jimmy' Hubbard of Martin and Damorn Porter and Anthony Porter, both of California; one brother, Alvin V. Ownby of Arkansas and three grandchildren.

Ernest Earl Smith

HUNTINGDON - Mr. Ernest Earl Smith, 83, died on Monday, June 14 at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Huntingdon First Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Interment
followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Smith was born October 24, 1920 in Carroll County to the late Euna Belle Carroll and Ernest Earl Smith, Sr. He was a retired employee of the Carroll County Electric Department with 47 years of service. He was the longest active member of the First Baptist Church with 72 years attendance and a World War II veteran with the Eighth Air Force, having been a gunner on B-17's and B-24's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minta Perkins Smith, who passed away in May 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Shan Anderson; one son, Dr. Mark V. Smith, both of Memphis; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Bruce L. Suratt

CORDOVA: Funeral services for Bruce Leon Suratt, 58, were at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 16 at Ridgeway Funeral Home with the Rev. William Gayle Suratt officiating. Burial was in the Henry cemetery.
Mr. Suratt died on Saturday, June 12 at his residence after a long illness.
He was born January 23, 1946 in Dyer to the late Carlie Clifford Suratt and Myrtle Esther Gilbert Suratt. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was discharged with a service disability.
Survivors include one sister, Laura Qualls of Henry; one son, Jason Suratt of Jackson; four brothers, Bob R. Suratt and Gene A. Suratt, both of Memphis, Charles Clifford Suratt of Van Buren, Arkansas and William Gayle Suratt of Kosciusko, Mississippi and one grandchild. A sister, Betty Butler, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Barrow, a homemaker, died on Wednesday, June 9 at her residence.
She was born June 17, 1915 to the late Edgar and Zenie Green Sampson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Barrow, one brother, John W. Sampson and two sisters, Sadie Horn and Gladys Travis. She was a member of Union Academy Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Brooksye Burke of McLemoresville.

Miss Looney, a homemaker, died on Monday, June 7 at Alive Hospice, Inc. in Nashville. She was a member of Crieve Hall Baptist Church in Nashville.
She was born February 23, 1932 in McKenzie to the late John and Ella Williams Looney. She was preceded in death by siblings Robert Looney, Roe Looney, Cecil Looney, Mae Golden and Laverne (Pete) Cullimore.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul Looney of Lansing, Michigan and Elmer Looney of Diamondale, Michigan; two sisters, Mary Frances Hilliard of Northlake, Illinois and Lottie Tucker of East Lansing, Michigan and a special friend, Sue Everett of Nashville.
Annie Mae Boyd

COLUMBUS, OHIO: Services for Annie Mae Boyd, 106, formerly of Hollow Rock, were on Friday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Christian Church in Hollow Rock with Pastor James E. Nesbitt officiating. Burial followed in the Pisgah-Nebo cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Boyd died on Saturday, June 5 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on December 25, 1897 in Springville to the late Polly and O.T. Russell. She was preceded in death by daughters, Lorene Singer and Bertha Mae Arnold; sons Clydell Boyd and Robert Boyd; brothers, Thomas Russell and Lee 'Trump' Russell; and sisters Rosie Brooker, Eleanor Hudson, Ada Russell and Gracie Porter.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. O.C. Boyd and Odell Boyd, both of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Katherine Holmes and Vera Hedrick of Columbus, Ohio and Christine Nesbitt of Hollow Rock; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

He was born March 5, 1928 to the late Earl Ray and Bennie Milliken Ray in Whitlock. He was preceded in death by one son, Terrence Lee Ray, one sister, LaRue Humphreys and two brothers, J.C. 'Buck' Ray and Johnson Lee Ray.

Aaron Vinson Robertson

McKENZIE - Funeral services for Aaron Vinson Robertson, 80, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, at Brummitt Funeral Home, with Brother Kenny Carr officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Robertson, a retired manager of VFW Post 4939 and farmer, died Sunday, August 14, at NHC Health Care Center in Milan. He was born to the late Eddie Madison and Eva Azbill Robertson on August 12, 1925, in Yuma. He was a member of VFW Post 4939 and American Legion Post 166.
He is survived by his sons, Keith (Lori) Robertson of McKenzie and Larry (Tina) Robertson of Murfreesboro; brother, William (Ruth) Robertson of McKenzie; a sister, Jamie Cude of Humboldt; four grandchildren, Brandie Tenpenney, Brittney Robertson, Lesley Robertson and Luke Robertson; and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arleen G. Robertson.
