BRUCETON - Nancy Elizabeth Miller, 87, died Thursday, April 3. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. James Daniel and Rev. Noel Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Miller, a housewife, was born April 30, 1920 in Craggie Hope, Tennessee to the late Jerome Nathaniel Thompson and Fannie Parker Thompson. She was a member of Bruceton First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She worked several years for Hollow Rock-Bruceton cafeteria and was a 50-year member of Bruceton Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter #314. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bryan Miller, Sr.
Survivors include: one son, Thomas (Karen) Bryan Miller, Jr. of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
DORTHY "DAG" LEE PEARSON

BRUCETON - Dorthy "Dag" Lee Pearson, 79, died Tuesday, April 1, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in Humbles cemetery.
Mr. Pearson was born January 22, 1929 in Carroll County to the late Dorthy Lee and Hattie Sue Robinson Pearson. He was a self-employed farmer.
Survivors include: four children, Benjamin (Betty) Pearson of Jackson, Charles (Sharyl) Pearson and Pricilla (Donald) Owens, both of Bruceton, and Dyeann (Floyd) Ownes of Hollow Rock; one sister, Beatrice (Jim) Nash of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

BRADENTON, FLORIDA - Eler Monteith, 86, formerly of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, April 2, in Florida. Graveside funeral services are Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m. at the Leach Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mrs. Monteith was born December 5, 1911 in Carroll County to the late L. R. and Ora Scott Rigsby. She was a retired employee of Abbott Laboratory. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Lewis; her second husband, Harold Monteith; two sons, Harold Lewis and Glenn Lewis; two brothers, Carl Rigsby and Chester Rigsby; and one sister, Vergie Fry.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley (Bill) Wood of Bradenton, Florida; one stepdaughter, Regina (Brian) LaBossiere of Bradenton, Florida; one stepson, James (Laverne) Monteith of Roswell, New Mexico; one sister, Iona Lewis of Berwyn, Illinois; one brother, John C. (Inez) Rigsby of Jackson; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

GLEASON - Dorothy May Burke, 86, died Monday, March 24, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell cemetery.
Mrs. Burke was born April 27, 1921 in Paris to the late Raymond W. McKenzie and Winnie Ruth Baker. She was a former employee of Sharon Pajama Factory and was a member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burke; three brothers, Roy, Edwin and Raymond McKenzie; one sister, Anita Harrison; and one son, Leon Franklin.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ruth Pryor of Gleason; two stepsons, Thomas Burke of Gleason and Larry Burke of McKenzie; one stepdaughter, Martha Burke of McKenzie; one brother, L.T. McKenzie of Paris; four sisters, Weathy Fischer and Shirley Mann, both of McKenzie, Betty Brown of Henry, and Bonnie McCall of Orlando, Florida; and four grandchildren.

BRUCETON - Evelyn Louise Rook, 77, died Wednesday, April 2, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Saturday, April 5, at 4 p.m. at Bruceton Church of Christ with Thomas Rook and Stephen Rook officiating. Burial followed in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Rook was born April 5, 1930 in Dyersburg to the late Herschell and Oma Railey Cook. She was a retired cafeteria supervisor for the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Special School District and a member of Bruceton Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Hanford Rook of Bruceton; one daughter, Cathy W. Graebe of Franklin; three sons, Thomas Rook of Grandview, Missouri, Stephen Rook of Lebanon and Mark Rook of Bruceton; three sisters, Charlotte Ray of Roellen, Carolyn Simmons and Ruth Richards, both of Jackson; one brother, Milton Cook of Fairview Bay, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

HUNTINGDON - Lillie Ruth Pearson, 69, died Friday, April 4, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are Wednesday April 9, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Rev. Ivy Jamison officiating. Burial will follow in Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Pearson was born May 25, 1938 in Carroll County to the late Bernard Bledsoe and Maud (Hunt) Bledsoe. She retired from Henry I. Siegel Company where she worked as a seamstress and was a member of Huntingdon Christian Fellowship Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie Meeks and Pauline Arnold.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard Pearson of Huntingdon; one daughter, Clara Ruth Nash of Huntingdon; three sons, Charles Tharpe, Jr. and Robert L. Tharpe, both of Lexington, Kentucky, and James L. Tharpe of Huntingdon; three sisters Vennie Sue Wormerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, Evelyn Hilliard of Lexington, and Anner Jean Bledsoe of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, Walter Bledsoe of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of the service.

HUMBOLDT: Cora Sue Ashley, 71, died Sunday, April 6, at Humboldt General Hospital. Graveside services were Tuesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Spain cemetery with Bro. Robert Barger officiating.
Mrs. Ashley was born March 12, 1937 in Henderson County to the late Leonard Odom Stanford and Lillie Inez (Spencer) Stanford. She was a factory worker for the Henry I. Siegel Company and a member of the Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Ashley; and one brother, Leonard DeWayne Stanford.
Survivors include: two daughters, Beverly Jean Bray of Cedar Grove and Jody Beth Blankenship of Medina; two sons, Tommy Dean Moore of Jackson and Timothy Duke Moore of Cedar Grove; one sister, Elsie Mae Moore of Cedar Grove; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

HUNTINGDON - William Charles Kirby, 78, died Wednesday, March 14, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were Saturday, March 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home, Huntingdon with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial followed in Jamison cemetery.
Mr. Kirby was born August 28, 1928 in Huntingdon to the late Otis and Annis (Brewer) Kirby. He served in the Army, retired from General Motors Corporation in 1984 after 31 years of service and was a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Kirby and Henry Travis Kirby.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Martha Jane (Spellings) Kirby; two daughters, Vicky (Ricky) Myracle of Lexington and Beverly (Larry) Darnell of McLemoresville; three sisters, Dorothy Holladay, Evelyn Fry, and Betty Haddock, all of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.

HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Dora Gladys Lankford, 89, died Saturday, March 17, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Monday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. at New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Derrick Jowers, Bro. Scott Carter and Bro. Russell Carlock officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lankford was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Cora (Hooten) Sanders. She was retired from the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the New Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Lankford; one son, Bryon Wayne Lankford; and one brother, Kenneth Sanders.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth (Blake) Mason; two sons, Gene (Diane) Lankford and Rick (Brenda) Lankford, both of Huntingdon; five sisters, Genora Cloar of Union City, Beatrice Roberts of Huntingdon, Orville (Buddy) Nanney of Henry, Frances Chandler of Torrence, CA and Margie Davenport of Decatur, AL; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

McKENZIE - Joyce Renee McDaniel, 51, died Wednesday, March 14, at her home. Funeral services were Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Michael Simmons officiating. Burial followed at Olive Branch cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Mrs. McDaniel was born November 29, 1955 in Paris to the late William Jefferson Lamb and Oris Mazelle Bennett lamb. She was a member of Jolley Springs Baptist Church and Martha Chapter 155 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: her husband, William H. "Bill" McDaniel; one son, Sam McDaniel of McKenzie; four sisters, Janice Lamb (Steve) Vaughn of Nashville, Lori (Tom) Dalton of Paris, Brenda (Floyd) Lessman of Gallatin and Susan Lamb of Old Hickory; and one brother, Jeff (Velvet) Lamb II of Henry.

Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Union General Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Harold Bell of Russellville, Kentucky; one daughter, Kathy Bell (Richard) Simmons of Huntingdon; and three sons, Randall Bell of Russellville, Kentucky, Matthew (Lisa) Bell of Mount Juliet, and Curtis (Adrianna) Bell of Effort, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Pendergrass was a retired Xerox employee and owner of Bailey's and Cotton Patch Restaurant.

Mrs. Fesmire was born July 14, 1936 to the late Dave and Nancy Harran Branch Stanford in Henderson County. She was a retired employee of Sandvik Windsor Corporation and a member of First Baptist Church in Atwood. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin (PeeWee) Fesmire; and two sisters, Haudie Dee Coffman and Hautie Stanford.

Mrs. Crews was born November 29, 1915 in McEwen, Tennessee to the late Charlie James and Ocie "Climer" James. She was retired from Henry I. Siegel Company and a member of the Marlsboro Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Crews.
Survivors include: one son, Billy (Joyce) Crews of Huntingdon; and three sisters, Velmer Hastings of Vale, Marguerite Rodgers of Bruceton, and Natalee (Eugene) Crews of Camden.
