GLEASON - Billy Ray Marshall, 70, died Saturday, March 3, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial followed in West Union cemetery in Dresden.
Mr. Marshall was born July 8, 1936 in Hohenwald to the late James Alvis and Addie Paschall Marshall. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in McKenzie and DAV. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Marshall.
Survivors include: five step-children; and two sisters, Opal Barker of McKenzie and Betty Collins of Amity, Oregon.
Alice Marie Washburn
1931-2005
McKENZIE - Alice Marie Washburn, 74, died Wednesday, October 12, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Services were conducted October 13 in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. With Bro. Robert Simmons, Bro. Jimmy Stewart, and Bro. Tony Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Caledonia cemetery.
Mrs. Washburn was born January 28, 1931, to the late John and Lille Boswell Kirksey in Yuma, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a member of Caledonia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wayford Washburn Sr.; one son, Wayford (Ann) Washburn Jr. of McKenzie; and three grandchildren.
McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Beatrice Kelly Dawson
BRUCETON - Beatrice Kelly Dawson, 84, died Wednesday, October 12, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services were conducted October 14 at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Parker French officiating. Burial was in Holladay cemetery.
Mrs. Dawson was the daughter of the late John M. and Lizzie Ann Webb Kelly.
She is survived by four daughters: Betty Dawson of Lebanon, Kathy (Larry) Duncan of Indianapolis, Indiana; Pat (Keith) Fosbinder of Jackson, Mississippi, and Melinda (Tim) Hale of Knoxville; three sons: Charles (Vicki) Dawson of Knoxville; Robert Dawson of Holladay and John (Emma) Dawson of Camden; two sisters, Sudie Stockard of Knoxville and Mary Jo Kee of Camden; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Dawson and a granddaughter.
Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden, was in charge of the arrangements.
Gene Walker
1957-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Gene Walker, 47, died Friday, October 14, at Regional Hospital in Jackson. Services were conducted October 17 in the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Wallace officiating. Burial was in Mixie Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Walker was born November 27, 1957 to Harry Lee and Bobby Jean Wade Walker of Paris, who survive. He owned and operated Walker's Machine Shop in Henry and was a member of Paris Moose Lodge, Springville Lodge 130 Mason, and an avid golfer.
Survivors include one son, Jason Matthew Walker of Paris; three brothers: Mark (Marsha) Walker of McKenzie, and David (Sherry) Walker and Robert (Allie) Walker, both of Paris; his grandmothers, Iola Gray Walker of Paris and Lorene Finch of Hollow Rock; special friend, Norma Hart of Henry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Harry Shaun Walker; his grandfathers, Harry G. Walker and R.L. Wade; and step-grandfather, S.L. Finch.
Maurine Hopper Barriger
BARTLETT: Maurine Hopper Barriger, 68, formerly of Gleason, died Sunday, October 23, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m., at Family Funeral Care with visitation from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Memory Hill Gardens.
Mrs. Hopper is survived by three daughters: Vicki L. Williams, Lisa B. Williams, and Chelsa Barriger, all of Memphis, and a son, Jerrye L. Barriger Jr. of Memphis; three sisters: Martha Lemonds of McKenzie, Betty Shell of Gleason, and Nancy Brock of Bledsoe, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrye Barriger.
Memorials may be sent to West Clinic in research for ovarian cancer or Redeemer Evangelical Church, where she was a member.
Georgia Evelyn Williams Cary
1918-2005
WESTPORT: Georgia Evelyn Williams Cary, 86, died Monday, October 24, at Bruceton Life Care Center after an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 26, in the chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Brother Rufus Chandler and Brother Fred Ward officiating. Interment
will follow in Jamison cemetery.
Mrs. Cary was born July 20, 1918, to Clyde O. and Lenora Greer Williams, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and co-principal in the operation of Cary Farms. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and active in Tennessee Farm Bureau and other trade and community service organizations. She was honored in 1999 for her more than 50 years of dedicated service to the University of Tennessee Home Extension Program.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Graper Cary, and one son, Billy M. Cary.
She is survived by one son, Barry (Janice) Cary of Jackson; one daughter-in-law, Sylvia C. Cary of Huntingdon; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three nephews.
Nellie Mai Taylor

McKENZIE - Nellie Mai Taylor, 90, died Monday, October 24 at Oak Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27, at Union Academy Baptist Church in McKenzie with Brother Thomas E. Duffy and Brother Dennis Beal officiating. Interment
will follow in Union Academy cemetery.
Mrs. Taylor was born September 24, 1915 to John Scott and Eva Bradberry Scott, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Academy Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Taylor, and one brother, Carlos Scott. She is survived by one step-daughter, Janet (Roy) Porter of Akron, Ohio; two grandchildren, Rick (Rosanne) Porter Sr. and Dan (Lynda) Porter; and four great-grandchildren, Rick (Kathleen) Porter II, Regina Porter, Nathan Porter, and Ben Porter.

Mr. Lowe was born December 9, 1960, in Lockport, Ill. to Virginia Marie Evans Lowe and James Doyle Lowe, both deceased.
He is survived by one brother, Timothy Lowe of Springfield, Tennessee.
Gladys Lucille Peacock

HUNTINGDON - Gladys Lucille Peacock, 92, died Saturday, October 22, at her home. Services were held October 25 in the Chase Funeral Home chapel, with Brother Roger Patton officiating. Interment
followed in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.
Mrs. Peacock was born January 20, 1913, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to John Thomas and Ethel Bell Malagen, both deceased. She was a retired medical lab technician and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Scott Peacock, and one brother, Donald Hugh Malagen.
She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
Nita Parrish LaPrade

HUNTINGDON - Juanita (Nita) Parrish LaPrade, 73, formerly of Pontotoc, Mississippi, died Saturday, October 22, at her residence. Funeral services were held October 24 in the Baldwin Funeral Home chapel of Pontotoc with Bro. Melvin Crawley officiating. Interment
followed in Immanuel cemetery in Pontotoc.
Mrs. LaPrade was born April 25, 1932, to J.G. "Gip" and Mary Parrish. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
She is survived by her husband, Havis LaPrade of Huntingdon; one son, Tim LaPrade of Huntingdon; two sisters, Louise Graham and Shirley (Joel) Hale, both of Pontotoc, Miss.; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mattie lou and Geneva Parrish.
MARY JO COURTNEY BRYANT

TREZEVANT - Mary Jo Courtney Bryant died Saturday, April 14. She was born at home in Carroll County on December 13, 1923, daughter of the late Ben and Lilly Robinson Courtney. She married
Ray Gilkey Bryant of Trezevant on July 21, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2002.
Funeral services are Wednesday, April 18, 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, Trezevant with burial in the Shiloh cemetery in the Lavinia Community. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant and Wednesday, April 18, 11 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by two children, Barbara Jo (Dennis) Bryant of Boca Raton, Florida and Giles Courtney (Lisa) Bryant of Trezevant; two grandchildren, Laura Courtney Bryant and Jeffrey Giles Bryant; three sisters, Noreen Rainey of Huntingdon, Dathel Brown of Milan, and Alice Houston Crocker of Atwood; one brother, Russell Courtney of Milan. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harwood Courtney of Cedar Grove and Muriel Courtney of Milan.
Mrs. Bryant worked at various jobs including the HIS Factory in Trezevant, the Milan Arsenal and Shoney's in Milan. She was an avid lawn and gardening enthusiast and enjoyed working with her husband at the flea market in Huntingdon.
RUBY VIOLA EDDINGS LOWRY

McKENZIE - Ruby Viola Eddings Lowry, 84, died Monday, April 9, at Oak Manor Health Care Center in McKenzie. Funeral services were Friday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Bro. Doug Powell officiating. Burial followed in White Rose cemetery in Gibson.
Mrs. Lowry was born June 17, 1922 to the late William A. Eddings and Lular V. Cupples Eddings. She attended Immanual Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Lowry, and one son, William H. Chesser.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marie Brown of Trenton; two sons, George R. Chesser, Jr. of Trenton and Irvin G. Chesser of McKenzie; two brothers, two sisters, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Frances Robison

HUNTINGDON - Mary Frances Brown Robison, 85, died Tuesday, April 10, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, April 12, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Winkler officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Robison was born October 19, 1921 in Finger to the late Zannie and Margaret Leach Brown. She was a retired employee of Hayes Grocery and a member of Huntingdon Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, N. A. Robison and a brother, Guy Brown.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry (Bette) Robison of Huntingdon and Richard (Allyson) Robison of Camden; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
