SANDRA MARY MCMILLIN EVANS
1961-2008
PARIS - Sandra Mary McMillin Evans, 46, died Saturday, March 8, at her home. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 12, at 1 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial will follow in McAuley cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was born October 14, 1961 in Garden City, Michigan to the late Hermon Philip and Elsie Ungurean McMillin. She was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary McMillin.
Survivors include: her husband, Tom Evans of Paris; one daughter, Alisha Burress of Trezevant; two brothers, Philip McMillin of Oakfield and Dennis McMillin of Nashville.

RANNY WHITTLE BROGDON
1926-2008
MILAN - Ranny Whittle Brogdon, 81, died Monday, March 10, at McKenzie Health Care. Funeral services are Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. Dan Camp officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Brogdon was born November 9, 1926 to the late Randolph Carson Whittle and Betty Whittle in Henderson County. She was a retired school teacher at Milan High School, volunteer for The Mustard Seed, and member of First United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brogdon.
Survivors include: two daughters, Suzanne Howell of McKenzie and Mary K. Pollard of Medina; one son, Craig Pollard of New Albany, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Amy Howell of Martin and John Craig Howell of McKenzie.
Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to The Mustard Seed.

CHARLES ROBERT RAMEY, SR.
1933-2008
McKENZIE - Charles Robert Ramey Sr., 74, died Tuesday, March 11, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Thursday, March 13, at 10 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Carr and Bro. Claude Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.
Mr. Ramey was born July 3, 1933, in Missouri, to the late Robert and Myrtle Belch Gott Ramey. He was a city of McKenzie Councilman, a retired clerk from the U.S. Postal Service, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and a member of Long Heights Baptist Church and VFW Post 4939 in McKenzie. He was preceded in death by one brother, George Ramey, and two sisters, Joyce Gott and Dorothy Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Emerson Ramey of McKenzie; one daughter, Donna (Sonny) Sellers-Baskin of McKenzie; one son, Charles (Chuck) Robert Ramey Jr. of McKenzie; five sisters: Bea Staten, Ruth McDonald, and Nita Coco, all of Missouri, Mary Jane Ramsey of New Mexico, and Phyllis Smith of Arizona; one brother, Earl Gott of Missouri; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to McKenzie Memorial Library, 15 Broadway Street, McKenzie, TN 38201.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Joseph W. Smarsh, Jr.
1939-2005
HUNTINGDON - Services for Joseph W. Smarsh, Jr., 65, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Wayne Burton officiating. Interment icon followed in the Natchez Trace Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Smarsh died Thursday, February 17, at his home.
He was born April 17, 1939, to the late Joseph Wishard Smarsh, Sr. and Ruth Dice Smarsh.
Survivors include two daughters, Amy Haywood of Lexington and Tina Wilson of Huntingdon; one son, Chad Smarsh of Wildersville; one sister, Patricia Rose of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; one brother, John Smarsh of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.

Howard Willis
1941-2005
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Howard Willis, 63, were conducted on Saturday, February 12, at 12:00 noon, in the Chase Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Abbott officiating. Interment icon followed in the Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mr. Willis died Thursday, February 10, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born August 13, 1941, in Gibson County, to the late Elmo and Jane Coleman Willis. He was an engineer for the Maersk Line Company; was a naval veteran with 20 years of service, a member of the Hollow Rock VFW and attended the Marlboro Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Willis, and one sister, Janice Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Betty Rosser Willis; one daughter, Tina Willis Howell of Bellevue, Nebraska; one sister, Ruth Farris of Bartlett; two brothers, Leroy Willis of Trenton and Clarence Willis of Herndon, Virginia; and three grandchildren.

Harry J. Ciscell
1943-2004
McKENZIE - Services for Harry J. Ciscell, 61, were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, with the Rev. Roy Auvenshine officiating. Burial was in Hornbeak cemetery.
Mr. Ciscell, an employee of Shomaker Lumber Company, died Sunday, February 20, at Regional Hospital in Jackson.
He was born June 2, 1943, in Charleston, Missouri, to the late Harry Ciscell, Sr. and Gladys Mae Stone Ciscell.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy Ciscell of McKenzie, Darrell Ciscell and Michael Ciscell, both of Greenfield; a daughter, Kimberly Gougat of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara Casey of Greenfield, Marie Moore of Martin and Lucille (last named unavailable) of Mound City, Illinois; and eight grandchildren.

Mary Spellings Harris
1910-2005
TREZEVANT - Services for Mary Spellings Harris, 94, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant, with Rev. Malcolm Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery in Milan.
Mrs. Harris, retired co-owner of Thomas L. Harris Jewelry, died Sunday, February 20, at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center.
She was born December 19, 1910, in Gibson County, to the late Earsley H. Spellings and Maude Mae Spellings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trezevant.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Tom Roberts of Huntingdon, Jennifer Michael of Medina and Lisa Nall of Des Moines, Iowa, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Harris; a daughter, Mary Lou Roberts; and a sister, Ruth Keeton.

Hazle I. Camper
1928-2005
TREZEVANT - Services for Hazle I. Camper, 76, were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant with Brothers Priestly Scott and Richard McCaskill officiating. Burial was in the Trezevant cemetery.
Mrs. Camper, retired employee of Milan Arsenal, died on Saturday, February 19, at NHC Health Care Center.
She was born November 8, 1928, in Carroll County, to the late Henry Mann and Irene Hayes Mann. She was a member of Fairview Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Marty Camper of Jackson; a brother, Bobby (JoAnn) Mann of McLemoresville; and a son-in-law, James O'Neil Hinton of Trezevant.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Ann Hinton, and a brother, Buford Mann.

SHELBA JEAN HIGDON MCCASLIN
1947-2008
McKENZIE - Shelba Jean Higdon McCaslin, 60, died Tuesday, January 29, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, January 31, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Fred Morris officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. McCaslin, a retired florist, was born March 14, 1947 in Trezevant to the late James Elton Higdon and Margaret Jane (Scott) Higdon.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert McCaslin of McKenzie; two sons, Derrick McCaslin of McKenzie and Patrick McCaslin of Smyrna; three brothers, Richard Wall of Memphis, Donald Higdon of McKenzie, and Terry Higdon of Friendship; six sisters, Melba Sue Patton of Tampa, Florida, Velta Flippin, Linda Reed, Jorene Baker, Lorene Hudson, and Sherry Epperson, all of McKenzie; and two grandchildren, Zayden Ty McCaslin and Lute Anders McCaslin.

ROBERT LAURENCE PRATHER
1926-2008
McKENZIE - Robert Laurence Prather, 81, died Wednesday, January 30, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Burial followed at Caledonia cemetery.
Mr. Prather was born September 9, 1926 in Clarksburg to the late Willie V. and Lessie Phillips Prather. He was a retired factory worker and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later in the Tennessee National Guard. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jana E. Hodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Lavada Smith Prather of McKenzie; four sons, Jerry Prather of Huntingdon, Robert S. Prather of Dresden, Terry D. Prather and Stephen E. Prather, both of McKenzie; one sister, Mary Vawter of Trenton; and eight grandchildren.

ELSIE MAURINE MORRIS
1924-2008
McKENZIE - Elsie Maurine Morris, 83, died Thursday, January 31, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, February 2, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Morris was born November 15, 1924 in Trezevant to the late Leonard and Lois Cobb Cloyd. She was co-owner of Morris Carpet in McKenzie and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Morris; and her uncle and aunt, R.G. and Elsie Walker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Diana (Jerome) Crawford of McKenzie; one granddaughter, Jessica Crawford of Nashville; one brother-in-law, Joseph W. (Joyce) Morris of Nashville; and one sister-in-law, Linda (Ed) Richmond of Memphis.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the First Methodist Church in McKenzie, the McKenzie Memorial Library or the charity of your choice.

THOMAS HAROLD KENT
1948-2008
DRESDEN - Thomas Harold Kent, 58, died Wednesday, January 30, at his residence. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 1, at Gallimore Funeral Home of Gleason with Bro. Bob Copeland officiating.
Mr. Kent was born September 12, 1948 in Dyersburg to the late Esby and Martha Headly Kent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Hatch Kent.
Survivors include: one son, Randy Kent of Gleason; two daughters, Charlotte McAbee and Jodie Kent, both of Gleason; two sisters, Alice Green and Mary Boane, both of Gleason; and one grandchild.
