Funeral services for Terry Lee Miles, 55, were 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 from the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Olan Milligan officiating.
Mr. Miles of Dickson died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center. He was born Feb. 13, 1950 in Wood River, Ill. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryne Lamporter Miles of Alton, Ill.; daughters, Celia Miles of Paris, Teri-Lynn Miles of East Alton, Ill. and Kristin Clark of Paris; sons, Thomas Dixon III of Alton, Ill., Terry Miles Jr. of Alton, Ill. and John “Jay” Miles of Brighton, Ill.; sisters, Carla Miles, Paulette Miles and Cindy Kay Kraushaar, all of Alton, Ill.; brother, John Acie Miles of Alton, Ill.; former wives, Jacqueline Clark of Paris and Kathy Holland of East Alton, Ill.; beloved friend, Tenia Boyer of Murfreesboro; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Acie Miles Sr.
Patricia Carol Murphy
Funeral services for Patricia Carol “Patty” Murphy, 39, are 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Bill Shouse officiating. Interment
will be in the Maple Grove cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Murphy died Sunday, March 13, 2005 from injuries she suffered in an automobile accident Saturday, March 12 on Highway 48 North near Stayton Road.
Ms. Murphy was born Jan. 6, 1966 to Patsy Wall Murphy and Charles Edward Murphy. She worked as a collection agent for the Credit Bureau of North America in Dickson.
Survivors include her mother; two sons, Josh Hayes of Dickson and Matt Hayes of Charlotte; a brother, Teddy Murphy of Bon Aqua; a sister, Donna Kay Stallings of Southside; three grandchildren, Hannah Duncan, Maddison Hayes and Laken Hayes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
James Preston Owen
Funeral services for James Preston Owen, 85, were 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Robert Cullom officiating. Interment
was Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the Cumberland Furnace cemetery.
Mr. Owen, a truck driver for 35 years and a member of the Charlotte City Council, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at a friend’s home in Nashville.
Mr. Owen was a member of the Charlotte Baptist Church and had served on the Charlotte City Council for 12 years.
Survivors include his son, Ray T. Owen of Palmetto, Fla.; his daughter, Claudia L. Cummings of Charlotte; one brother, William Owen of Ashland City; two sisters, Betty Batson of Springfield and Fay Lloyd of Orchard Lake, Mich.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Gilliam Owen; and his parents, Preston and Thelma Turner Owen.
Memorials may be made to Charlotte Fire Department or Alive Hospice.
James Skelton
Funeral services for retired Lt. Col. James S. Skelton, 78, of Burns were noon Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Dickson First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dave Deerman and Pastor Norman Manning officiating. Burial, with full military honors, was in Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Dickson Funeral Home.
Mr. Skelton died Friday, March 11, 2005 at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1927 in Seaside, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Vietnam. Among the many medals he received were the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit Award.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gerry Skelton of Dickson; sons, Randall Skelton and his wife, Judy of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Michael Skelton and his wife, Mary of Springfield, Mo.; daughter, Linda Mattio and her husband, Jimmy of Charlotte; brother, William Skelton and his wife, Joanne of Santa Maria, Calif.; sister, Beverly Wilson and her husband, Grover of Quincy, Wash.; grandchildren, Alisha Skelton, Treasure (Donald) Dischner, Roger (Lacee) Skelton, Kristen Mattio, Peter (Jennifer) Mattio, Lisa Mattio, Michelle Mattio and Jere Mattio; great-grandchildren, D.J. Dischner, Robbie Dischner, Mikayla Dischner, Kara and Emma Mattio and Lilly Skelton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Brown Skelton; and sister, Geraldine Williams.
William Theodore Taylor
Funeral services for William Theodore Taylor, 47, of Lyles are 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Wrigley Baptist Church with Jerry Milam officiating. Interment

Mr. Taylor died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center. He was born Sept. 29, 1957 in Dickson.
Survivors include his mother, Betty (Hodge) Taylor of Lyles; sons, Dustin Taylor of Franklin and Corey Taylor of Columbia; daughter, Nikki Sharon of Brentwood; brothers, Paul Taylor of Centerville and Troy Taylor of Lyles; sister, Tracy Ketterman of Dickson; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Taylor.
Jewel Bradford Walp

Mrs. Walp died Friday, March 11, 2005 at National Health Care Center in Dickson. She was born in Hickman County and reared in Dickson County. She was a teller for 25 years at Nashville City Bank. She was past president and chaplain of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 115, District 6 past president and VFW Auxiliary 4641 past president and treasurer. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sister, June McDonough and her husband, Johnny Boone of Burns; aunt, Allene Dunnagan of Dickson; niece, Marilyn Gerard; nephews, Bobby Bullion, Mike Bullion and Steve McDonough; great-nieces and nephews, Linsey Phillips and her husband, Andy, Lacey McDonough, Brad McDonough, Melissa Bullion, Whitney Bullion, Jordan Sesler and Leah Dotson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell (Cotton) Walp; parents, Sam and Nellie Brown Bradford; and sister, Ruth Bullion.
Viki Lea Harris Allbert

Mrs. Allbert, a teacher’s aide with the Dickson County Board of Education, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center. She was born in Dickson County to Wendell Lee and Gwendolyn Harris.
Survivors include her father, Wendell Lee Harris of Dickson; son, Jason Lee Allbert of Dickson; two stepsons, Brandon and Chad Allbert, both of Dickson; former husband, Buster Allbert of White Bluff; sisters, Angela Kimak of Alabama and Wendy Harris Ragan of Dickson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gwendolyn Harris.

Jessie Albert Reeves

Mr. Reeves of Allensville, Ky., died Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Gateway Medical Center. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Reeves; three sons, Mike Reeves of Kentucky, David Reeves of Watkinsville, Ga., and Earl Reeves of Clay, Ky.; and sister-in-law, Annie Ruth Sprott of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Muncy M. Reeves and Mattie Pearl Reeves; and son, Jerry Reeves.
Euble Leon Rose

Mr. Rose, retired owner and operator of Duffy’s Bar in Cleveland, Ohio, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at his home in Bon Aqua. He was born in Giles County to Jesse and Flora Hickman Rose.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McMillen Rose of Bon Aqua; son, Raymond “Bud” Adams of Bon Aqua; three daughters, Tina Doyle of Bon Aqua, Gigi Bates and her husband, Terry of Bon Aqua and Lynn Miner and her husband, Zach of Linden; two brothers, Wheeler Rose of Pulaski and Grady Rose and his wife, Shirley of Duck, W. Va.; six sisters, Mary Ruth Johnson, Edith Yates, Corene Casteel, Mable Owens and her husband, Larry and Iva Mae Rose, all of Pulaski and Jewel Watson and her husband, Leon of Cleveland, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William Ellis Webb

Mr. Webb, a retired Humphreys County Court clerk, finance chairman of the Humphreys County Court and farmer, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
He was a U. S. Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of Friendship Pentecostal Church for 53 years, adjutant and 50-plus year member of American Legion Post 34, member of Veterans Association, James Developmental Center Inc., Waverly Lions Club and Humphreys County Fair Board, BPOE Elks Lodge in Waverly and past president of the Tennessee County Court Clerk Association. He served longer than any other elected official in Humphreys County
Survivors include his wife, Ladelle Webb of Waverly; two sons, William Ellis (Billy) Webb II and his wife, Kathryn and Larry Webb and his wife, Glenda, all of Waverly; three grandchildren, Jessica Webb Grice of Dickson and Kyle Webb and Heath Webb, both of Waverly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Annie Mae Hemby Webb.
Doy Brazzell Baker

Mrs. Baker of Dickson died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at NHC Health Care in Dickson. She was a retired machine operator at Red Kap Manufacturing Co.
Survivors include one sister, Etta Hamilton of Dickson; three nieces, Lynda Hamilton of Dickson, Annette Story of Ashland City and Pamela Tyszkowski of Michigan; six nephews, Kenneth, David, Henry and Ricky Hamilton and Billy Lamastus, all of Dickson and Donnie Brazzell of Indiana; 11 great-nieces; three great-great nieces; two great-nephews; and three great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Albert and Cordelia England Brazzell; and her husband, Claud A. Baker.
Dora Christine Gafford Brake

Mrs. Brake, a retired inspector with the former Schrader Company, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. Born in Dickson County to Hugh and Maude Gafford, she was a member of the Cumberland Furnace Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her son, Harold Brake and his wife, Nancy of Cunningham; sister, Lorene Barnhill of Nashville; four granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Brake; and parents, Hugh and Maude Gafford.
