Ollie Edward Sawyer
Funeral services for Mr. Ollie Edward Sawyer, 77, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at Walnut Street Church of Christ in Dickson with Larry Sawyer and Steve Baggett officiating. Interment
will follow in Rock Church cemetery. Services are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Sawyer, a retired minister and DuPont employee in the shipping department, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Humphreys County. He was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie Overton Sawyer of Dickson; sons, Larry Sawyer and his wife, Jennifer of Louisville, Ky., Jerry Sawyer and his wife, Kathy of Farmville, Va.; daughter, Donna Romine and her husband, Galen of Nashville; brothers, Grady Sawyer of Waverly and T.J. Sawyer of Florida; sisters, Jessie Ellis of Nashville, Ann Gonzales of Tampa, Fla., and Shirley Witham of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Dayla Calendine and her husband, Chad, Leah Henry and her husband, Travis, Hannah Sawyer, Andy Sawyer, Stephen Sawyer, Joseph Sawyer, Rachel Sawyer and Laura Sawyer; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Marie and Logan Calendine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Braden and Mary Riley Sawyer; brother, Bill Sawyer; and sister, Louise Smith.
James Alfred Bain
Graveside services for Mr. James Alfred Bain, 76, were 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 at Union cemetery with Bro. Ron Melton officiating. Arrangements were handled by Dickson Funeral Home.
Mr. Bain of Burns was born in Tupelo, Miss., on Oct. 25, 1928. He died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Tillie B. Bain of Burns; son, James H. Bain of Burns; daughters, Becky Baggett and husband, Wayne of Dickson, Debbie Denny and husband, Ray of Dickson and Ruby Dotson of Tennessee City; grandchildren, Bobby Baggett, Jamey Baggett, Ryan Martin, Corey Martin, Lyndsey McIllwain and Joshua Dotson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lula Wright Bain.

Margaret Belle Fussell Brown

Mrs. Brown, born in Dickson County, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was a homemaker and member of Water Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Claude Edgar Brown Jr. of Clarksville and Gaylan William Brown of Dickson; daughters, Ruth Anne Brown Bahor of Manchester and Janice Wilson Brown DeLoach of Dickson; brother, Donald Fussell of Dickson; sister, Ruth Patterson of Gallatin; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Edgar Brown Sr.; parents, William Empson and Sarah Wilson Mathis Fussell; and three brothers, Wilson, Ward and Joe Fussell.
Emma Jean Neblett Davis
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Jean Neblett Davis, 52, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 from Dickson Funeral Home. Interment

Mrs. Davis of Urbana, Mo., formerly of Dickson, was born in Cadiz, Ky., on Oct. 25, 1928. She died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Davis of Urbana, Mo.; sons, George Abbo and his wife, Becky of Dalton, Ga., Greg Abbo and his wife, Drew of McComb, Mich., Erik Abbo of Dalton, Ga., and John Wesley of Branson, Mo.; stepson, Roger Davis of Urbana, Mo.; brothers, Tommy Hagood of Detroit, Mich., and Ricky Hagood of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Martha Hagood of Detroit, Mich., Fawn Pettigrew of Toledo, Ohio, and Faye Johnson of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Burley Broadbent Jr. and Lurdene Heath Hagood.
Clarice Lee Holt

Mrs. Holt, born in Thomaston, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 at Southern Hills Medical Center. She was a member of Bon Aqua Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Holt Sr. of Bon Aqua; son, Preston Holt Jr. of Nashville; mother, Gladys Virginia Fullerton Lee; brothers, Harold Lee, Jessie Lee, Jimmy Lee and Charles Lee, all of Alabama; sisters, Ann Stephens, Martha Lee, Katie Lee and Georgia Stephens, all of Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Lewis Lee.
Walter Isaac Morris

Mr. Morris of Dickson was born in Terrytown, Texas, on Sept. 14, 1924. He died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Morris; sons, Richard David Morris of Grand Junction, Colo., Jody James Morris of Hesperus, Colo., and Casey Lee Morris of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughter, Carrie Ann Morris of Dickson; brothers Robert L. Morris of Maryland, Herbert H. Morris of Grafton, Va., and Edwin A. William Perret
Funeral mass for Mr. William Z. (Bill) Perret, 91, are 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 from St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson with Father Stephen Gideon officiating. Interment
will follow in Dickson Union cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.
Mr. Perret, a retired machine operator with McQuiddy Printing Company, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 at National Health Care Center in Dickson. Born in New Orleans, La., he was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his brothers, Clifford J. Perret and John Perret, both of New Orleans, La.; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and special niece, Diane Rpyal of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Mae Brown Perret.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the Rosary being said at 7:30 p.m.
Mel Romine
Funeral services for Mr. Mel Romine, 70, are 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 at Westview United Methodist Church in Fairview with Rev. Gary Wedgewood officiating. Interment
will follow at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in the Garden of Cross.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 13 at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday at Westview United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine; daughters, Cheryl Koons and husband, John of Jackson and Kim Gray of Dickson; son, Robert Romine and wife, Tina of Bon Aqua; brother, Gene Romine of Kansas; granddaughters, Jessie Koons, Sara Koons and Rebecca Gray; grandsons, Scott Williams, Matthew Romine and Marc Romine.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Georgie Clare Romine.
Margaret Chandler Collins Rowland

Mrs. Rowland, pricing manager at Wal-Mart, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004 at her home in Burns. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle Rowland of Burns; daughter, Linda Jones of Bon Aqua; brothers, Bobby Chandler of Bon Aqua, Johnny Chandler of Burns, Rick Chandler of Dickson, Woody Chandler of McEwen and Jimmy Chandler of Burns; grandson, Bradley Jones of Bon Aqua; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Tidwell and Ward Chandler; and brother, Jack Chandler.

Henry Hickson Savage
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Hickson Savage, 76, were 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Lowrey officiating. Graveside services and interment
followed at Spring Hill cemetery in Nashville.
Mr. Savage of Fairview died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004. A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late Mary Adelaine Hickson and Henry Kennedy Salvage.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Susan Halter Savage, emerita professor at Vanderbilt University; daughter, Phyllis Savage Booth and husband, Jeff of Olympia, Wash., and Gail Savage Hollister and husband, Joe, of Murfreesboro; brother-in-law, Charles Henry Halter; and grandsons, Jeffrey Booth, Jimmy Booth, Bennett Hollister and Jonah Hollister.
Mr. Savage was an early pioneer in audio-visual technology including ham radio and television. He was involved in the advent of 2-meter amateur radio transmissions and operated one of the first 2-meter repeaters in Nashville.
An avid aviation enthusiast, he earned his pilot license before he was old enough to drive a car. From 1951-1954, he served in the U.S. military as corporal in the Army Band at Fort Rucker, Ala. From 1954-1961, he was a television engineer for what was then WSM television, which is now WSMV. From 1961-1995, he played a key role in developing and managing the Media Center and Learning Technology Center at Peabody College at Vanderbilt.
For years, Henry flew gliders and was a founding pilot at Puckett Field in Eagleville. He was also the inventor of the “paradise antenna” which was manufactured for hundreds of ham radio operators throughout the United States.

Lorene Keele Albright

Mrs. Albright, a homemaker and mother who was born in Vanleer, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center. She was a member of Burns Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Albright and his wife, Dianne, of Dickson; daughters, Loretta Turner of Fayetteville, N.C., and Judy Brazzell and her husband, Billy of Dickson; sister, Alene Petty of Dickson; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Albright; son, Wayne Albright; and son-in-law, Joel Turner.
