Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Marlene “Minnie” Tidwell, 65, were 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Jack Vanover officiating. Interment
followed in Tidwell New Hope cemetery.
Mrs. Tidwell, born in Williamson County, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at Waverly Health Care Center. She was a retired machine operator with Levi Strauss. She was a member of Parker’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, James Eugene Tidwell of Bon Aqua; daughter, Talena Nelson and husband, Hubert of Vanleer; brother, Harry Vaughn of Fairview; sisters, Jessie Booker of Lyles and Beulah Pippin of Fairview; grandchildren, Benji Tidwell, Micki Tidwell, Hannah Nelson and Ethan Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Rosa Donegan Vaughn; and granddaughter, Keisha Tidwell.
Mary B. Wynn
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary B. Wynn, 84, are 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Hagler officiating. Interment
follows at Union cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral.
Mrs. Wynn of Dickson was born in Humphreys County June 11, 1920. She died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at her residence. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, John T. Wynn and wife, Carolyn of Dickson; daughters, Virginia Anne Sugg and Fay Neblett and husband, Arthur, both of Dickson; brothers, Joseph “Dick” Burgess and Leo Burgess, both of Dickson; grandchildren, Regina Clark, Dale Neblett and Barry and Garry Sugg; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wynn.
Kenith H. Brazzell
Funeral services for Mr. Kenith H. Brazzell, 86, were 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bros. Randall Carter and Warren Medley officiating. Interment
followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Brazzell of Dickson was born in Dickson County Sept. 1, 1918. He died Aug. 20, 2004 at NHC-Dickson. He was a disabled veteran. Brazzell served his country during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW-Post 4641 in Dickson.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Wanamaker Brazzell of Dickson; son, Charles Ray Brazzell and wife, Mildred of Smyrna; daughter, Barbara Jean Choate of Dickson; brother, Oscar Bert Brazzell of Dickson; sisters, Ruth Elizabeth Moon of Centerville and Sudie (Sue) Marie Pate of Dickson; grandchildren, Sharlean Ray Graybill and Kim Brazzell Alsobrooks and husband, Bryan; great-grandchildren, Payton LeeAnn and Jackson Brazzell Alsobrooks; and several nieces and nephews.
Lonnie Garrett

Mr. Garrett of Nashville died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at Baptist Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Garrett of Nashville; sons, Roy Garrett and Bill Garrett, both of Murfreesboro; daughter, Joyce Price of Nashville; grandchildren, Patrick Garrett and Susan Garrett, both of Murfreesboro, and Amanda Seay of Nashville; and three great-grandchildren.
Katie Hawkins
Funeral services for Mrs. Katie O. Hawkins, 85, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Minchey officiating. Interment
followed in Springhill cemetery in Madison.
Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of Ex-POW’s.
Mrs. Hawkins died Aug. 21, 2004. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and Middle Tennessee Chapter of Ex-POW’s.
Survivors include son, Eric Hawkins and wife Linda; and daughter, Rita Clinard and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Alan and Kevin Hawkins, Josh and Daniel Clinard and Hailey, Keeley and Alysha Hawkins; six step-grandchildren; brother, J.W. Sullivan; and sisters, Joyce Branch, U.C. Cox and Fannie Etheridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Hawkins.
Earl Holton
Funeral services for Mr. Earl T. Holton, 76, were Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at Hite Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Mosley officiating. Interment
followed at the Orange County cemetery near Rome City, Ind.
Mr. Holton died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was born in Rockvale, Tenn., May 24, 1928 to Lee and Sallie (Taylor) Holton. He attained a rank of Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War from 1950-1952.
He married
Wanda Charlotte Simmons Dec. 19, 1953 in Nashville. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last December.
He was employed by the state of Tennessee for 38 years as an accountant/auditor before retiring July 1, 1990. He was a deacon in the church for many years and was a member of the Harbor of Love Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Michael and Judy Holton of Kendallville, Ind.; grandsons, Nathaniel and James Holton, both of Kendallville, Ind.; sisters, Florence Hartbarger of Knoxville and Betty Hatcher of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Insel; and brothers, Leon and Wallace Holton.

Mr. Proctor, a native of Dickson County, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a carpenter. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Dunn’s Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include his sons, Dale Proctor and Jarrett “Bugs” Proctor, both of Dickson; daughters, Linda Barefoot of Dickson and Roberta Heggie of Kentucky; stepson, Lane Proctor of Dickson; brother, Billy Joe Proctor of Ashland City; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Brown Proctor; and parents, Jesse and Caraola Sensing Proctor.
James Thrasher

Mr. Thrasher of Charlotte died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center. He was a recent retiree of the Dickson County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Trudy) Thrasher of Charlotte; son, James Thrasher Jr. of New Mexico; daughter, Marsha Long of Maryland; brother, Kenneth Thrasher of Florida; sister, Katherine Thrasher of North Carolina; grandchildren, Megan, Erin and Caitlin Mahoney of Maryland and Noah Long of Maryland.
Sibyl Deason

Ms. Deason of Vanleer was born in Dickson County May 25, 1909. She died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was a retired schoolteacher with Dickson County for 41 years. She was the second person to register at Austin Peay University in Clarksville and was a member of Vanleer Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sisters, Mildred Dawson of Vanleer and Imogene Ingham of Vanleer; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nephews.
Julia Ann Majcher
Julia Ann Majcher died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Life Care Center of Centerville. In lieu of a funeral, her remains were donated to Meharry Medical College.
Mrs. Majcher was born July 17, 1922 in Hamtramck, Mich.
She is survived by her son, Michael Majcher of Columbus, Ga.; daughters, Patricia Swiontek of Warren, Mich., Dianne Mangold of Clinton Township, Mich., Melody Russell of Burns and Juliana Majcher of El Cajon, Calif.; sister, Ann Bork of Warren, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cathey of Dickson was born in Dickson County Dec. 9, 1915. She died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at NHC Healthcare in Dickson. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Cathey and wife, Connie of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Steve Cathey and wife, Sandra of Dickson; daughter, Jean Hudson and husband, Henry of Bradenton, Fla.; brothers, Clarence Clifton and wife, Virginia of Tennessee City, Clyde Clifton and wife, Clara of Burns, and Leslie Clifton and wife, Dimple of Tullahoma; sisters, Eda Sanker and Gracie Crow of Burns; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cuthbertson of Slayden was born in Dickson County Oct. 22, 1926. He died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004 at Trinity Hospital in Erin.
Survivors include his brother, C.B. Guerin Cuthbertson of Vanleer; sisters, Lavelle Petrnek of Irving, Texas, Genelle Weems of Cumberland Furnace and Lola Waggner of Old Hickory.
