Helen Hannon McVoy
Funeral Mass for Mrs. Helen Hannon McVoy, 80, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 at St. Henry Catholic Church with the Rev. Charley Giacosa officiating. Active pallbearers include, David Dunigan, Bill Kimberlin, Patrick Corby, Dan Singelyn, Tony Wirth, Carl Heer, and Bob Hannon. Honorary pallbearers will include, Marge O’Neal, Jean Dortch, Barbara Hunt, John Hardebeck, Ron DeFreece, Neil Devine, Larry Parsons, Ralph Langreck, Jr., Jack DiVittorio and Marvin Himmelberg.
Mrs. McVoy was a member of Hillwood Country Club; Communicant at St. Henry Catholic Church and later at St. Matthew Catholic Church, involved with volunteer’s to distribute Eucharistic Ministry to St. Thomas Hospital and nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. McVoy, Sr.; parents, C.W. and Nora Hannon; sister, Nora “Ronnie” Hannon.
Survivors include, sons, E.J. (Sandy) McVoy, Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., John McVoy, Paul (Becky) McVoy all of Nashville; sister, Mary (Bill) Dunigan of Nashville; brother, W.M. (Jane) Hannon of Sea Island, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; cousins; nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to St. Henry Catholic Church.
Kenneth Ralph Work
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Ralph Work, 58, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 from the chapel at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Warren Medley officiating. Internment will follow in the Redden cemetery.
Mr. Work, son of the late Jesse Burton and Tennessee Betty Work, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Joyce Kasica Work of Dickson; son, John Work of Dickson; daughter, Nancy Work of Dickson; sisters, Jeanette Palmer and Bernice Goad both of Dickson; and grandchildren, Kendal Guthrie and Kristen Laguna.
Memorials may be made to the Redden cemetery Fund.
David Warren Balthrop
Funeral services for Mr. David Warren Balthrop, 82, were 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 at the White Bluff Chapel of the Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Reece Cochran officiating. Interment
followed in Dickson Union cemetery.
Mr. Balthrop of White Bluff, a native of Dickson County, was born on Feb. 2, 1922. He was a retired civil service truck driver at Fort Campbell, Ky. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He died on Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mable Morine Balthrop of White Bluff; son, William David Balthrop, and wife, Carolyn, of Hopkinsville, Ky.; step-son, Jimmy Baker of White Bluff; sister, Mabelle Balthrop Yates of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillie Mai Saunders Balthrop and brother, Lonzo Balthrop.
Jewell Nolen Bradley
Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Nolen Bradley, 78, are 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at the Fairview Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. J. Curtis Manor officiating. Burial follows in Jane Jones cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
A native of Davidson County, Mrs. Bradley, of Fairview, was the daughter of the late James E. Nolen Sr. and Edith Johnson Nolen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carl Bradley, and her brothers, Claudie and Eugene Nolen.
She was a homemaker and a member of Five Points Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Roger Bradley of Fairview and Harold Bradley (Barbara) of Kingston Springs; daughters, Sandra Wright (Kenny) of Nunnelly and Judy Begley (Paul) of Fairview; brothers, James E. Nolen Jr. of Bon Aqua, John Nolen of Nashville, Herman Nolen of Bon Aqua, Howard Nolen of Clyde, Texas and Kenneth Nolen of Burns; sisters, June Tidwell of Bon Aqua, Joan Tidwell of Bon Aqua and Linda Hall of Bon Aqua; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Russell “Rusty” Arnell Eads
Funeral services for Mr. Russell “Rusty” Arnell Eads, 39, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Danny Tidwell officiating.
Mr. Eads, a native of Dickson County, died Monday, March 1, 2004 in Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Survivors include his sister, Vickie McCord Heidekker of Dickson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia “Patti” Ann Hayes
A memorial service for Mrs. Patricia “Patti” Ann Hayes, 54, is 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Her remains will be cremated.
Visitation with the family is March 6 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Hayes, a native of Memphis, died at her home in Bon Aqua Friday, Feb. 27, 2004. She was the daughter of the late George B. and Margaret Epps Howell. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Hayes of Bon Aqua; her son, C. Wesley Clancey of Arizona; her daughter, Kimberly Ambrosino of South Haven, Miss.; two brothers, Les Richardson of Daytona, Fla. and George Howell Jr.; a sister, Glynda Barber of Naples, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Mariella.
Billy Eugene Heggie

Mr. Heggie, a native of Montgomery County, Tenn., died at his home Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004. The son of the late Grandon Lee and Adelle Blackwell Heggie, he was a mechanic and a member of the Baptist Church. He was retired from the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Frauline Allsbrooks Heggie of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; his three daughters, Susie Smith of Vanleer, Tenn., Lisa Heggie Cox of Bon Aqua, Tenn., Debra Rye of Charlotte; 11 brothers and sisters; David Heggie of Gallatin, James Heggie of Ashland City, Norris Heggie of Cunningham, Tenn., Nell Hayes of Charlotte, J.W. Peggy Jean Hargrove Hughes
Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Jean Hargrove Hughes, 65, were 12 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Fairview Funeral Home in Fairview, Tenn. with Bro. Jim Prince officiating. Internment followed in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Hughes, of Fairview, died on Feb. 27, 2004 at her residence.

Sarah Helen Balthrop Potter
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Helen Balthrop Potter, 94, were 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at the Edgewood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Horace Perkins and the Rev. George Adair officiating. Interment
followed in Nesbitt (Sill Adams) cemetery in the Yellow Creek Community.
Mrs. Potter, a native of Dickson County, Tenn., was born on August 16, 1909. She was a homemaker. She died on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Charles and wife, Betty Potter of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn., Bob and wife, Janet Potter of Elizabethtown, Ky., George Valton and wife, Betty Potter of Burns and Billy and wife, Jackie Potter of Burns; daughters, Lavell and husband, Jim Walker of Erin, Tenn., and Faye and husband, Charlie Lair of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parent and husband, Huel B. Potter.
Charles Thomas Sensing

Mr. Sensing, a farmer, born in Nashville, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 in Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Jean Elizabeth Tidwell of Vanleer, Tenn.; half-brother, Michael Wayne Tidwell of Vanleer; half-sister, Brenda Lee Ruth Tidwell of Ashland City; step-sister, Debbie Tidwell of Dickson; step-brother, Jerry Lee Tidwell and his wife, Sandra of Waverly; grandmother, Mrs. Tommie Lee Sensing, of Vanleer; nephew, Brian Nicholas Tidwell of Ashland City; several aunts and uncles, including Lester Sensing of South Carolina, Wilson Sensing of Texas, Kenny Sensing and his wife, April, of Fairview, Maxine Baggett of Erin, Tenn.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Albert Tidwell.
William Wayne Tinsley
Funeral services for Mr. William Wayne Tinsley, 48, were 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, Tenn. with Tommy Marvin officiating. Internment followed in Dickson Union cemetery.
Mr. Tinsley, a native of Detroit, Mich., died at his home in Kent, Ohio on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004. He was employed in production with Chrysler Motor Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Radigan Tinsley of Kent, Ohio; his stepchildren, Angela and husband, Matt Ganley, Andria and husband, Kyle Kruger, Philip Holton, and Adam Tyjeski; parents, William Arthur and Lettie Mae Christian Tinsley; brother, Charles Christian of Dickson; sister, Wanda Lee Tinsley Newton, also of Dickson; nieces, Tracy Norton, Kristina Newton, Brenda Jenkins and Tammy Frankor; nephews, Erick Newton and Kenny Christian.
John William Burgess

Mr. Burgess, a native of Dickson County, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 in Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was a carpenter and a World War II United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his four sons, Homer B. Burgess, John Lloyd Burgess and William Floyd Burgess, all of Nashville, and Ricky Burgess of Manchester; his two daughters, Ann Vester and Patricia Keith, both of Nashville; his brother, Hugh Burgess of Dickson; his three sisters, Madge Hafner and Louise McClurkan, both of Dickson, and Dorothy Mai Wooster of Clarksville; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Dora Lewis Burgess and his parents, Alfred V. and Gertrude Edwards Burgess.
Bobbie Louise Larkins Daniel

Mrs. Daniel, a native of Dickson County, was the daughter of the late Leslie Dobson and Maude Graham Larkins. She died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 in National Health Care Center in Dickson. She was a homemaker and a member of White Bluff Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Daniel Moss of Nashville; grandson, Stephen Daniel Moss of Nashville; and her brother, L. D. Larkins, Jr. of White Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Daniel; a sister, Edith Daniel; and a brother, Clarence Larkins.
