Jessie Franklin Atchison
Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Franklin Atchison, 91, were 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2003 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Burial followed in Tidwell New Hope cemetery in Bon Aqua, Tenn.
Mr. Atchison died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. A native of New Madrid, Mo., he was the son of the late Sidney Albert Atchison and Ellen Shaffer Atchison. He was a retired foreman with TVA and a veteran of the U.S. Army, who served in World War II.
Survivors include wife, Daisy Tidwell Atchison, of Bon Aqua; three daughters, Brenda Potts, Mary England, both of Lyles, Tenn., Frances Fisher, of Bon Aqua; two stepdaughters, Janice Tidwell, of Lyles, and Frieda Burch, of Dickson; stepson, Terry Spencer, of Bon Aqua; brother, James Atchison, of Flint, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

John ‘Wallace’ Bibb
Funeral services for Mr. John “Wallace” Bibb, 76, of Michigan City, Ind., were 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003 at Carlisle Funeral Home in Michigan City. Burial followed in Greenwood cemetery. Reverend Dennis Pickens of the Full Gospel House of Deliverance officiated.
Mr. Bibb died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at home. A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late John Humphrey Bibb and Ovie Davis England. His wife, Betty Lou Bruce, two brothers and four sisters, also preceded him in death. He was a structural ironworker with the Iron Workers Local #395 for 35 years and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served in World War II.
Survivors include son, John H. Bibb, and his wife Lila, of Michigan City; daughters, Betty Sue Lewis, of Michigan City, Diane June Morgan, and her husband, Robert, of Michigan City, April Denise Norman, of Cypress Hill, Tenn., Helen Sue Watkins, of Michigan City; brothers, Leslie Bibb, and his wife, Oreen, Fred Bibb, and his wife, Fran, of Nashville; sister, Polly Anderson, and her husband, Raymond, of Madison; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Zena Mae Shelton Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Zena Mae Shelton Brown, 88, are 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Burial will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Brother Andy Erwin will officiate.
Mrs. Shelton died Monday, March 24, 2003 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born in the Eastside Community of Dickson County, she was a retired machine operator with the Red Kap Garment Co. and a member of the Burns Church of Christ. Her parents, Edgar M. and Louise Taylor Shelton, preceded her in death. Her sons, Bobby Ray Brown and Jerry Lee Brown, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Betty Jane Brown Eleazer, and her husband, Jack, of Dickson, Kay B. Nesbitt, and her husband, Roger, of Dickson; three sisters, Hazel Gentry, of Burns, Tenn., Mary Elizabeth Snow, of Donelson, Tenn., Magdalean Brown, of Taylor, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thomas Van Chisholm
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Van Chisholm, 83, of Dickson, were 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2002 at Dickson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Jim Chatham, Dr. Don McCoy and Brother Warren Medley officiated.
Mr. Chisholm died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Baldwin, Miss., he was the son of the late Thomas Jackson Chisholm and Belvie Clark Chisholm. He was a retired pipe fitter.
Survivors include wife, Helen Chisholm; sons, Tommy Chisholm, and his wife, Janice, of Marietta, Ga., Mike Chisholm, and his wife, Karen, of Cottontown, Tenn., and Eddie Chisholm, and special friend, Glynda, of Nashville; brother, Jack Chisholm, and his wife, Mattie, of Waverly, Tenn.; sisters, Mildred Burns, of Baldwin, Miss., Anniebell Chisholm, of Jackson, Miss.; and grandchildren, Andrea Stover, Craig, Stephen and Patrick Chisholm.

David Don Burkee
Funeral services for Mr. David Don Burkee, 59, were 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Burial followed in the Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery in Pegram, Tenn. Reverend Roy West officiated.
Mr. Burkee died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson. He was an employee in the printing department of A.J. Simpson, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served in Vietnam and a member of the Methodist faith. His parents, Don John and Blanch Helen Douville Burkee preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife, Mary Elizabeth Drain Durkee, of Dickson; son, Douglas Don Durkee, and his wife, Jennifer, of Union City, Tenn.; daughter, Marion Alva Durkee Moore, and her husband, Matt, of Ypsalanti, Mich.; sister, Joan Gilbertson, of Appleton, Wis.; brothers, Ken Durkee, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Jim Durkee, of Edgar, Wis., Roger Durkee, of Othello, Wash.; grandchildren, Aaron, Alex and Allison Moore, all of Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Bob Boettcher, of Appleton, Wis.

Robert Lee Littleton Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Lee Littleton Sr., 79, of Dickson, Tenn., were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Dickson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Union cemetery. Attorney Jerry V. Smith and Brother Roy West officiated.
Mr. Littleton died Friday, March 21, 2003 at home. A native of Humphreys County, he was the son of the late Elvie Edward (E.E.) Littleton and Alma Martin Littleton. A brother, Billy Boyd, also preceded him in death. He was a former Tennessee State representative, a retired attorney and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Robert Lee Littleton Jr., Billy Duke Littleton, Edward Estes Littleton, all of Dickson; daughters, Lisa Littleton Holley, of Charlotte, Tenn., Mary Littleton Wills, of Dickson; and nine grandchildren.

Glenda Darlene Parsley
Graveside services for Ms. Glenda Darlene Parsley, 45, of Ashland City, Tenn., are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Williams cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Parsley died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at home. A native of Nashville, she was the daughter of John Thomas Woodall and the late Alma Grace Ayers.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Parsley, of Nashville; mother, Grace Wallace, of Lyles, Tenn.; brothers, Randy Woodall, of Lyles, Chuck Woodall, of La Vergne, Tenn., Tracey Woodall, of Lyles; sisters, Donna Albert, Lisa Woodall, both of Ashland City, Rosemary Allison, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Eunice Magdalene Rushen
Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice Magdalene Rushen, 85, of Dickson, Tenn., are 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Dickson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon cemetery. Dr. Jerry Davis will officiate.
Mrs. Rushen died Sunday, March 23, 2003 at NHC Health Care in Dickson. A native of Cottage Grove, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Henry E. Harris and Lottie E. Bruce. Her husband, Baxter Rushen, and a son, Jerry Byars, also preceded her in death. She was retired from Red Kap Industries and was a longtime member of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include son, James Dean Byars, of Dickson; daughters, Virginia Dowdy, of Arizona, and Carol Ann Mallory, of Montana; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Amos Earl Weatherspoon
Funeral services for Mr. Amos Earl Weatherspoon, 73, of Nunnelly, Tenn., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at McDonald Funeral Home, in Centerville, Tenn. Burial will follow in Weatherspoon-Nicks cemetery, in Nunnelly.
Mr. Weatherspoon died Monday, March 24, 2003 at home. A native of Nunnelly, he was the son of the late Amos Weatherspoon and Catherine Wherry. He was an employee of the Hickman County Highway Department.
Survivors include wife, Nancy Weatherspoon; sons, Allen Weatherspoon, of Marion, Ill., Dorris Weatherspoon, of Bon Aqua, Tenn., Ronald Weatherspoon, of Burns, Tenn., and David Weatherspoon, of Atlanta; daughters, Nancy Baker, of Centerville, Rita Ivey, of Murfreesboro; a stepdaughter; brother, Samuel Ray Weatherspoon, of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-granddaughters

Mary Lou Williams
Memorial services for Mrs. Mary Lou Williams, 52, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at the Cumberland cemetery. Her remains were cremated.
Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at home in Cumberland Furnace. A native of Dickson County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include son, John Ryan Jr., of Cumberland Furnace; daughter, Laura Parker, of Manning, S.C.; parents, Norman and Josephine Williams, of Cumberland Furnace; brothers, Norman Williams Jr., of California, and Benjamin D. Williams, of Ohio; and three grandchildren, Shannon Ryan, Megan Ryan and Gage Parker.

Richard Dane Cook
Funeral services for Mr. Richard Dane Cook, 44, were 1 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003 at Bon Aqua United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Bon Aqua cemetery. Reverend Tom Herring officiated.
Mr. Cook died Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. A native of Winter Haven, Fla., he was the son of the late Robert Ashworth Cook. He was a self-employed butcher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the 101st Airborne Division. He was the recipient of the U.S. Army Good Conduct Award and a member of Bon Aqua United Methodist Church.
Survivors include wife, Brenda Harris Cook of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; mother, Carol Ann Cook; daughter, Stacy Nicole Cook of Clarksville; four stepsons, Michael Jerome Blake of Stella, Mo., James Kenneth Walker Jr., and his wife, Melissa of Bon Aqua, Robert Allen Walker of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Steven Mark Cook of Marietta, Ga.; a sister, Deborah Martin of Nashville; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Doris Jenell Hudson
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jenell Hudson, 69, of Yellow Creek Community in Dickson County, were 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson. Brother Dennis Kinnan officiated.
Mrs. Hudson died Friday, April 4, 2003 at home.
Survivors include husband, Dallas Hudson of Dickson; son, Gary Hudson, and his wife, Christal of Dickson; brother, Leon Street of Dickson; three grandchildren, Jessie, Katie and Lezlee Hudson, all of Dickson.

Michael Charles Laisnez
A funeral mass for Mr. Michael Charles Laisnez, 55, of Dickson, Tenn., was 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church in Nashville. Friar Breen and Friar Laisnez officiated. The remains were cremated. Dickson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Laisnez died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at home. A native of Montana, he was the son of the late Julien Laisnez and Rachel Voet. He was a reimbursement coordinator for HCA.
Survivors include wife, Paula Laisnez of Nashville; sons, Julian Laisnez and James Ruffin of Martin, Tenn.; daughter, Rachel Laisnez and her husband Andrew West of Nashville; brothers, Patrick Laisnez, and his wife, Cherie of Montana, and Julien Laisnez, and his wife, Patty of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Pauline Philips, and her husband, Jim, Martha Downey, Josephine Stone, and her husband, Bill, all of Montana and Mary Lou Laisnez of Alaska.

Major Laddy Mangrum Jr.
Funeral services for Major Laddy Mangrum Jr., 37, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Burial followed in Lampley cemetery in Fairview, Tenn. James E. Jones officiated.
Mr. Mangrum died Friday, April 4, 2003 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A native of Nashville, he was the son of Major and Peggy Mangrum. He was a heavy equipment operator with Cunningham Construction and a member of Liberty Lincoln Church of Christ.
Survivors include wife, Darlene Tidwell Mangrum of Fairview; two sons, Corey Dedman and Jacob Mangrum, both of Fairview; parents, Major and Peggy Mangrum of Fairview; a brother, Keith Mangrum of Fairview; a sister, Becky Taylor of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Arthritis Foundation. By careful consideration and by his choice, Mr. Mangrum was an organ donor so that others might have a better life.
