Corrine B. Owens
Funeral services for Mrs. Corrine B. Owens, 93, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Bro. Jerry Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Owens died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson. A native of Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Miles Durham and Anne J. Boston Bunton. Her husband, Harlan H. Owens, two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. She was a retired clerical worker with the Dickson County Farmers Coop and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include son, Dana Owens, and his wife, Lula Mai, of Dickson; three grandchildren, Patricia Matthews, Vanessa Nicks and Tina Sumerour; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Ross Benjamin Waynick
Funeral services for Mr. Ross Benjamin Waynick, 85, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Rev. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial followed in the Sherwood cemetery.
Mr. Waynick died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002 at home, in Dickson. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Franklin Benjamin and Eula Margaret Reynolds Waynick. Mr. Waynick was a retired employee of the Dickson County Highway Department and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include wife, Margaret Tucker Waynick, of Dickson; several nieces and nephews, among them, Joyce Felts and family, Virgil Felts and family and Leo Moran and family; special friend, Jimmie Darnell.

Herbert Randolph Bockhouse
Mr. Herbert Randolph Bockhouse, 83, died Nov. 26, 2002 at National Health Care Center in Dickson, Tenn. His remains were cremated. Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson handled the arrangements.
His wife, Muriel Bockhouse, daughter, Barbara Bockhouse and a son-in-law, Alan Putzer, preceded him in death. He was a retired machinist for Jacob’s Manufacturing in Wisconsin and a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in World War II.
Survivors include a son, Charles Bockhouse of Dickson; daughter, Sandy Putzer of Spencer, Wis.; sister, Mary Ormson of Wisconsin; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Eleanor Sue Nicholson
Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Sue Nicholson, 88, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, Tenn. Brother Steve Baggett officiated. Burial followed in Nickell cemetery in Centerville, Tenn.
Mrs. Nicholson died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at National Health Care in Dickson. A native of Rogersville, Ala., she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Mary Ethel Thornton Walker. Her husband, Dotson Nicholson, also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a retired machine operator with Wilson Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Dianne Harrell and Richard Work, both of Dickson.
Douglas Sanders Pettus Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Douglas “Mickey” Sanders Pettus Sr., 66, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. His remains will be cremated.
Mr. Sanders died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A native of Clarksville, Tenn., he attended Burt High School. His parents, Robert and Clara Dixon Pettus, preceded him in death. He was a retired auxiliary operator with T.V.A., a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville.
Survivors include wife, Nancy Bradley Pettus of Clarksville; son, Douglas Sanders Pettus Jr., also of Clarksville; daughter, Deidra Whiteside and her husband, Zachery, of Buffalo, N.Y.; three stepsons, Kenneth, Eric and Anthony Talley all of Dickson; a stepdaughter, Elisha Talley, also of Dickson; brothers, Will Pettus of Clarksville, Steve Pettus and his wife, Betty, also of Clarksville, George Pettus of Clarksville; sisters, Eunice Ledford, and her husband, Tom, of Clarksville, Mary “Honey” Wiggins, of Fairfax, Va.; three grandchildren, Dana and Zakia Whiteside and Reginald Tillman; nine stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lee Thomas Bowen Sr.
Funeral services for Lee Thomas Bowen Sr., 76, of Burns, Tenn., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at McDonald Funeral Home, in Centerville, Tenn., with Donald Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Wrigley Community cemetery, in Lyles, Tenn.
Mr. Bowen died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002 at Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson, Tenn. A native of Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., he was the son of the late Lee Bowen and Hattie Lathon. He was a laborer for Wrigley Plant.
Survivors include wife, Vernice Bowen, of Saginaw, Mich.; sons, Lee Thomas Bowen Jr., of Dickson, Robert Bowen, of Saginaw, Mich., and John Smith, of Nashville; daughters, Rose Lee Martin, of Saginaw, Mich., Ann Moss, of Dickson, Donna Bowen, of Saginaw, Mich., Carolyn Bowen, of Saginaw, Mich., Linda Bowen, of Saginaw, Mich.; sisters, Sandy Jackson, of Cleveland, Ohio, Juanita Harris, of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Irvin L. Hicks
Funeral services for Mr. Irvin L. Hicks, 76, were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at the Crieve Hall Church of Christ, in Nashville, with Bros. Robert Cullom and Tim Frizzell officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn cemetery in Nashville. Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, handled the arrangements.
Mr. Hicks died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at Baptist Hospital, in Nashville. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Irvin Scott and Ocie Lane Hicks. He was a retired patrolman with the Tennessee Department of Safety and a member of the Crieve Hall Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Maxine Duke Hicks, of Nashville; sons, Morris S. Hicks, and his wife, Maureen, of Nolensville, Tenn., C. Hugh Hicks, and his wife, Rhonda, of Brentwood, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Melanie Chadwick, Monica Norman, Scott Hicks, Brad Hicks and Will Hicks; a great-grandson, Christian Norman.

Mary Anna Buchheit
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Anna Buchheit, 71, of Dickson, Tenn., were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at Dickson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Lakewood, N.J.
Mrs. Buchheit died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville. A native of Plainfield, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John Long and Mary Matthews. Her husband, Frank Buchheit, also preceded her in death. She was a nurse.
Survivors include son, Frank Walsh, of Toms River, N.J.; daughters, Veronica Winiauski, Dorothea Allen, Diane Leming, all of Dickson; brother, John Long, of North Carolina; granddaughter, Mary Ann Beltran and eight other grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five nephews and one niece, in New Jersey.

Linward Anthony Chaisson Jr.
Memorial services for Mr. Linward Anthony Chaisson Jr., 55, of Charlotte, Tenn., were Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson.
Mr. Chaisson died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson. He was the son of Linward A. Chaisson Sr. and Marguerite Grabert Chaisson of Houma, La.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by sons, David and Chad Chaisson; a daughter, Laura Bourg, of Charlotte, Tenn.; sisters, Wiona Jackson, Lola Mi Bergeron, both of Houma, La., Ramona Chaisson, of Point-A-Chean, La.; a brother, Frank Chaisson, of Houma, La.; and two grandchildren, Craig and Lauren Bourg, of Charlotte.
Joseph C. Gibson
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph C. Gibson, 83, of Nashville, were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Bill Echols Sunday School Class of Woodmont Baptist Church.
Mr. Gibson died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003. A native of Nashville, he is remembered by family and friends for bringing happiness, strength and joy to all and for living by the golden rule.
Mr. Gibson attended Central High School and was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He received his masters of education from Peabody College. He was a fighter pilot with the U.S. Navy and was based on the U.S.S. Belleau Wood Carrier. During his service, he received the distinguished Flying Cross, several air metals and a purple heart. He served in 10 major battles.
After his naval career, he was a professor of physical education at George Peabody College and Demonstration Schools. He was the founder and president of the Nashville Swimming Pool Company and was one of the founders of the National Spa and Pool Institute. He was inducted into the International Swimming Pool Hall of Fame. He designed and constructed many national gold medal pools. In addition, he owned and operated the Ruskin Cave Resort in Dickson County for 25 years.
He was a Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Woodmont Baptist Church for 48 years. Mr. Gibson was president of Bill Echols Sunday School class.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Baker Gibson; daughters, Connie Sue Centrella, of Nashville, Donna Kay Owens, of Fairview, Betty Claire Seabourn, of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; son, Joseph C. Gibson Jr., of Middlesburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Dena Helms, Dale Seaborn, Paula Bruch, Heather Joy DeVaney, Linda Kay Owens, Joseph C. Gibson III, James Harry Gibson, Larry Seabourn, Jana Gibson Kozak, Bobby Seabourn; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McCloud died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson. A native of Houston County, she was the daughter of Tommy Breeden and Lula Bramlett. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Eugene McCloud, Floyd Thomas McCloud, both of Nashville; daughter, Mildred Hood, of McEwen; sister, Velma Kingsmill, of Erin, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Turner died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Cox South Hospital, in Springfield, Mo. A native of Humphreys County, Tenn., she was the daughter of William Edgar Atchison and Margaret Bell Durham. She was a home health care companion.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. Her husband, Ernest Williams, and a daughter, Mildred Louise Williams, preceded her in death. She was a member of Sylvia Baptist Church.
